What, if anything, does everybody tip the servers at WPE? You do have to get in line to order you food, but then they do a great job with delivering your meal, refilling water glasses, etc. I'm never sure what to do there. Sorry if this has been asked before & I missed it!

I also never know what to do here. I usually tip (depends on if the server refills any of our drinks and gives us "service" or if we have to get up and do it), but I always feel funny tipping cause I look around and pay attention to other diners and I'm usually the only one who does when we're there.

We ate at WPE for the first time last year . . . actually two times in the same trip and had wonderful "servers." They refilled our drinks for us, brought out my frozen yogurt after I finished my meal, and one even gave us a brownie since we had anniversary pins on. They were very friendly and attentive, so we left the customary 18% tip, but I wasn't sure if that was appropriate or not. I kept looking around the restaurant to see what others were doing and I didn't see anyone leaving anything :confused3 .

Thanks for the responses. I always feel I should give them something because they do a great job & are always asking what else they can do for us. I feel kind of funny not leaving something at WPE, especially when we usually get less service at the buffets & are expected to tip the 15-20 percent!

I know it can vary a bit depending on service...but on average, what percentage tip do you add? 5%? 10%? 15% 20%?

I'm just trying to think ahead for tip money if using the DDP.

At least 20%. If we have alcohol, we tip more (in my experience as a server, you always had to tip out to the bar). I would only tip under 20% if I got really bad service.

I used to be 20%.

But since they made the auto-tip with the Table in Wonderland card, I just leave it at that 18%.

If your party is larger than 6, it's 18% automatic. If you use TIW, it's also 18% automatic.

There's a thread on tipping up above & I'd reckon you'll be getting moved to there before long. LOL!

An auto tip? Do they have this at all the TS's now? Is it always 18%?

It is for the Table in Wonderland card (the 20% discount card you can purchase for AP holders and FL residents) When they did away with the tip being including with the DDP, this apparently was its replacement. But yes, all Table in Wonderland users have 18% added into their bill.

We usually tip 20% of the total. My DH thinks it is easier to figure out the tip by leaving 20 instead of 18%. Last year we went as a grand-gathering group, so all of our tips were automatically calculated by the restaurants @ 18%. My DH and BIL still found that it's necessary to stuff an extra $10 or $20 for "great" service. (MAN :rolleyes1 )

We have the TIW card so that gives the server 18% automatically....without the card we have always tipped 20%

I'm guilty of that too. We use the TIW card and while I'm tempted to just leave it at the 18%, I never can. Extra bills are always stuffed into the bill folder. My DH is the one who rolls his eyes over that move. :sad2:

Hi everyone. I need some help with this. When I booked our ADR's for our trip in 11 days the CM told me that because we are a party of 8 gratuities are included. We are on the Basic DDP. Does this mean the basic tip is included? I don't want over or under tip. We are really good tippers so we tend to leave tips on the high side anyhow.

TIA

Jen

Parties of 6 or more you have to pay the 18% gratuity just like any other restaurant you would go to

Tips are not included with the price of the DDP for basically anything (I think CRT is the exception).

If you are dining with 5 or less people, then you will get suggested amounts to pay for tips. The tip is paid OOP whether on the DDP or not.

If you are dining with 6 or more people, 18% will be added to your bill, so you will be required to use your credits and then pay at least 18% OOP tip (you can pay more).

Excellent. Thank you so much for your help!

Do you now have to tip when you do a sit down dinner in the dining plan or is it still included.

Gratuities are not included, except for the following: Cinderella's Royal Table, dinner shows (Hoop De Do Revue, Spirit of Aloha, Mickey's Backyard BBQ), room service, pizza delivery, and grand gathering experiences.
