The Disney Institute Cooking School

Does anyone know if they still have the cooking classes that were offered at the Disney Institute a few years back? They always sounded like fun to take.

My husband and myself took cooking classes at the Disney Institute before they stop doing it. It loads of fun, We got the take food we made back to our room and they even the recipes printed up.

I took a couple of different classes. In one class, we made a lamb dish. It was a Moroccan dish with olives. I wasn't crazy about it, but I don't care for lamb.

The other class was taught by a chef from Grand Floridian. I don't remember all of the dishes, but we made ice cream flavored with lavender. That stands out in my mind because I didn't like it. Very strange taste.

It was fun, but they tended to do very exotic things.

We made a spiced cider. And cookie that made ground nuts and as came out the oven you put over a rod and 1 inch dimaeter and it made them curl. We made couple other cookies and all we very good.

During F&W they have cooking classes at the Odessey Cooking School in EPCOT.....you have to pay for them, $ changes every year along with the chef's who are guest teachers! Had a great time last year at the Steak House Eatery class.....of course cooked steak, steamed spinach, shrimp cocktail, potatoe pie, prepared a salad, and topped that off with Chocolate Lava Cake.....great time, great food!!!!!
