Today was a huge loss to Disneylanders today. The Disney Gallery closed today, August 7th. It was a great place to look at portraits, relax, and see old pictures of Disneyland. But today, we lost all of that. So please send great hope for what is next.

I have spent many hours in the Gallery and it will be greatly missed.

This is so sad! Our family loved to visit the Disney Gallery on every visit and see the different exhibits. :sad1:

I have been an AP holder for 2 years and never went up there. I went for the first time yesterday because I heard it was closing. Now I wish I had taken the opportunity to go up there earlier. Now most of the paintings had a sold sign on them. Is that because they were closing and selling off the paintings or did they always sell them and then replace them with new ones?

i never got to see it but i was planing on it this trip in nov, and i was gona do balcony fantasmic..so sad what a sad loss

While the artwork was nice, I have to say the biggest loss is the ability for the normal guest to walk in a spot that was never supposed to be available to us to see. This was a hidden treasure that if just a few small changes had been made would never have been seen by US.

I felt a special attachment to the history in those rooms and it will be sadly missed. I made a special trip just to say goodbye. I will post some of my photos in the Disneyland Daily picture thread, but am hoping some one took better pictures then I did of the concept art and the Leota painting both of mine went sort of bad due to the sunlight :sad1:

I hope it opens as the YOAMD so others can share it because it will be sad if it just becomes part of Club 33.

  Bye-Bye Disneyland Gallery.

Another classic Disney treasure crosses over into Yesterland. . . I will REALLY miss it.

I too will miss it for this reason. It made us feel as if we were part of the family. The CM's up there are very sad to see it go as well. They all had a great passion for The Gallery.

Goodbye to one of my favorite places in the park. I took a lot of pleasure in helping other friends and family members "discover" this hidden treasure over the years.

When I saw that my future wife actually took more time to look over the exhibits than I did, I knew she was the one for me!

I had only gone in there last time I was there (April). I was trying to find a place to eat my Gumbo, but I just couldn't find any seats anywhere... So I went up to the gallery and the CM's let me eat in the courtyard.

It was the most relaxing lunch I've ever had at the Parks.

I am truly saddened to see it go.
