Just got back from 7 days at wdw...had fun as usual, but I was wondering if this bothered anyone else:

Scenario: you stand in line for 20-30 minutes for a ride and group of people accompanying an obese individual show up at a line and get put on with no waiting at all? I find it infuriating personally...people whose only "handicap" is they don't know when to put down the fork, get ushered to the front of lines, front of performances etc. ahead of others that have been standing in line waiting their turn...Anyone know what the official WDW policy on this is? Why can't the rest of the group get into line, and when they make it to the front of the line then they can load the obese riders with them? Why should a group of 5-10 people essentially get prefered access to everything because they eat too much?

Same thing at the shows...we waited 45 minutes to get good seats at the Lion king show (which is awesome BTW)...get seated close to the front, wait another 20 minutes in the seats for the show to start, and 3 minutes before the show starts a group of rather LARGE individuals roll in and essentially ruin our great seats...and they are granted the best seats in the house...why is this done? why do people put up with this? How can this be fair?

If anyone should be allowed to jump to the head of the line it should be the beleaugured parent trying to keep 4 small children happy while waiting in lines all day!

I heard more than one person snickering/grumbling in lines as certain groups of people got to take advantage of their Disney FATPass.

Wow and at such a magical place too. :sad1: It is sad that "adults" would snicker at another individual and even worse that these same "adults" would model such mean behavior in front of children. :sad2:

:sad2:

Maybe, just maybe, Ed, you could say a prayer that you are not obese. :sad2:

This is your 2nd post, Ed... popcorn::

Surely you aren't serious!

All I can say is Wow! :stir: And I hope you are not a serious poster.

I'm sorry that some people think this way. My husband is over 375 pounds but it isn't his fault. It's due to medical problems beyond his control and has nothing to do with not putting down a fork. Even though it may look like there's nothing wrong other than being obese, there may be other reasons for what they did. :sad2:

ok.. you have really hurt my feelings.. my Dad is rather overweight.. and he has not been to WDW because of his weight.. I told him I could get him a wheelchair and take him out for a few hours a day or so.. I am trying my best to talk him to making memories with the family!

Because of his weight... his legs hurt and ankles swell... there is no way to stand for long periods of time.

I just hope one day orignal poster that you or someone in your family never has any problems!!!!!!! That was really hurtful and mean! I am so glad my Dad is not a diser because after your comment I would never get him there!

I think its wonderful that these people can maybe go to the front for what... its a small world or some other not major ride... my Dad would no way ride the huge thrill rides!

I think you really need to sit down and think about what you just posted!

Believe me you are not perfect either! None of us are!

Wow! I don't even know what to say... This thread needs to be locked now before things get ugly.

You know what? That is one of the most insensitive posts I've ever seen here. The Dis community does not deal with people like you. You only have 2 posts and come on here talking like that. You are talking about Obese people as having some sort of lack of will power, while you were given a lack of brains and compassion.

I hope everyone that sees this post reports it, and this user should be banned.

By the way, it's punks like you that i'd LOVE to meet in the park and give a reason to go through that handicap line.

They get to go ahead of people because they are probably using scooters to get around. For people that are just plain fat and the only reason to blame is that they cant stop eating I get annoyed at but for people with health problems its a reasonable excuse.

This same message, with the exact (or almost exact) same wording, shows up on the DIS boards every few months, always from a poster who has never been here before. I personally just chalk it up to some idiot that has nothing better to do with their time.

Ignorance is not always stupidity, but, sometimes it is.

But who are you to judge? Especially a complete stranger...

popcorn:: Pass the popcorn. This is going to get ugly.

What am I judging? I am just stating my feelings on a subject.

to OP: Sometimes there are health reasons why people are heavier than others and they can't help it. Try thinking of that before you open your mouth. Shame on you.
That was very rude of you.

That's understood but, you know, there's a matter of respect. We don't always agree on here, and there are people here that are different in so many ways, from religion to hair color. Talk like that is not accepted here. You can say what you feel in a respectful way. If it can't be done in a respectful way, then that's when you would normally realize you probably shouldn't say it at all.
