I have no idea where I should post this, so I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong place here.

But I was watching some old exerpts from the "old" Disney Channel from the 80's and was wondering if there was a way to send a suggestion in to Disney/ABC to maybe create a "Classic Disney Channel" for those of us who grew up in the 80's and early 90's with all those old Disney Idents with the Mickey mouse head and the old movies/cartoons from then.

Just an idea I had. I'd love it personally.

I miss the Disney Channel of that day. Anyone else think it's a cool idea?

Today it's just.....not the same.

Thanks guys!

I have emailed them a few times suggesting exactly that!
I can't stand the 'Tweener' stuff that is on 24/7 right now. I used to pay extra (as a college student) for The Disney Channel in the 1990's because it would play original movies, 'Vault Disney' stuff, travel tips to WDW, etc. I miss all of that stuff.

Yeah, I mean I wouldn't even mind paying extra for a separate "Classic Disney Channel" or something like that.

I mean, why not? They make extra money because they're using the old Idents/sign ons, cartoons and movies. Not much capital needed to start it, and you make tons of extra money by making it premium again.

I miss the days when Disney Channel was commercial free. And I would love to see the 90's episodes of The Mickey Mouse Club, with Justin, JC, Christina, Brittney. I grew up on that and Kids Incorporated. I almost never turn it on anymore.

In the evenings, they used to play the old (classic) Mickey Mouse Club episodes, Walt Disney World Inside Out, old movies like "Summer Magic", "That Darn Cat", "Pollyanna", etc. They called it "Vault Disney"!
Does anyone remember the old promo "Hot days, cool nights... Disney Channel... makin' it right." LOL!!!

I loved the old Idents. The rectangle with the Micky head in it.

They were all awesome. I can't remember them all, but I do remember the TV dinner one where Mickey's in the grocery store. And there's the paint one.

Then there's the one from the day-time when it was crystal clear and showed rainbow colors coming through it.

I BEGGED my parents forever to get the Disney Channel until they finally did. It and the old Nickelodeon were my favs as a kid.

My parents taped alot of stuff from those days. The Anne of Green Gables movies (although, I don't admit I like those to my friends...lol), The old Flubber movies and I also have "Mousterpiece Theater" and a few "Donald Duck Presents" tapes in storage somewhere.

Ahhh...the memories.

Definitely!

I cannot stand the stuff that's on today, but I guess that's just because I'm older now.

Ozzie and Harriet was one of my favorite shows when I was little! Ricky Nelson was ever so dreamy. A few years ago I found out that my mom and dad went to see him in concert...I've been jealous ever since. LOL We didn't have cable, but my grandparents did and I'd turn on the Disney Channel whenever I was there. Oh, and Leave it to Beaver. They even did liek a new one where Beaver was all grown up with a family of his own. I LOVED that show.

sheesh, someone else that misses that stuff! I loved Vault Disney. I'm 44, grew up with the old Hailey Mills, Kurt Russell, Dean Jones stuff. This crap they're making (or remaking, which is even worse, imo) is terrible. If I have to sit through one more zack & Cody or Hannah Montana I'll hurl! Adn don't get me started on Cory in the House and Raven, I can quote dialogue from the Raven episodes I've seen them so much. I remember back in the late 70s when TBS was first starting up, they showed the old Mickey Mouse Club (Jimmie, Annette, Darlene, that one) after school. I loved it, it had the old Hardy Boys with Tim Considine, Spin & Marty, all that stuff. Then the NEw MMC with Lisa Whelchel (Blair on Facts of Life) came out. BUt the old '60s movies were the best. BTW, did anyone catch THe World's Greatest Athelete on TCM this past weekend??? OMG, Jan Michael Vincent with long hair, sigh!

Does anyone remember that old show they had on the Disney Channel that was all about the parks? There were four or five regular hosts that traveled around the parks highlighting the new and fun things to do. I used to really like that show but I can't remember the name. Anyone?

It was called "Walt Disney World Inside Out". I remember George Foreman was one of the hosts!

I would LOVE this. If you start a petition or something, definitely let us know.
I miss the old cartoons, and the segments on Disney World, and stuff like that. Disney has plenty of money, all they would have to do is run old shows.
This would definitely be a great thing to do for the year of a million dreams!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Would love something like this. Put on the old Care Bears, Gummi Bears, Tale Spins, and all those old shows from the 80's and early 90's and let's not forget the MMC.

I don't know about the Disney Channel, it's all Hannah Montana. But I used to love Toon Disney, now it's all the stupid Jetix crap.

I know exactly what you mean.
The shows that are on it now are just crap. It's very rare that they make a good DC original movie.

What happened to good old Mickey Mouse cartoons? Did all of those go off into the Disney Vault so even the Disney Channel can't show them? Chip & Dale were my favorites.
