Nah wont laugh. If this is AT&T DSL service, its possible the cabinet in the field that your house terminates on is still without power. Maybe with luck you'll get your connection back sooner then later. Your casting plan could work well though!
Update on my update:
This afternoon, we had a rain/thunder/lighting storm pass through and I heard a loud CRACK of thunder and power went out for a few seconds and then came back up.
But the phone lines and internet connection (from AT&T) are D-E-A-D. The soonest repair appointment is Wednesday morning.
I can hotspot off my phone as I am now but the Bama-Georgia national championship game is tomorrow night. Maybe I can watch it on my phone YTTV connection and cast it up to the big screen tv.
You have my permission to laugh at me.

As for your solution, that's what I've done in these situations - either hotspot from my phone or cast from my device. In fact, the entire camping season is handled by hotspot off my phone. We have a Roku plugged into the television, connect it to my phone, and everything we have set up at home is set up there as well. We can do the same when travelling to Disney or other resorts. We love it!
BTW. Using the smart tv remote control to run YTTV, i can't find a way to flip to the previous channel (and then back and forth). I'm a notorious flipper during commercial breaks. Is there any way to accomplish that on YTTV with the tv remote?
My biggest con for YTTV. Not even a previous channel function I can find.
Doesn't help you for this particular game, but we have an OTA antenna hooked up to the primary TV too. If it's something like a game, we'll usually swap to OTA just to conserve bandwidth let alone outages.
Yeah I tried the OTA approach a decade ago, PtP. The problem is that in my TV market (central Alabama from the MS state line in the west to the GA state line in the east) the broadcast antennas for all the major networks are in the Birmingham (central AL area) about 55 miles away. I've tried countless "50-60" mile antennas and with the hills in the area (the foothills of the Appalachian Mtns terminate in central AL) the OTA digital antennas don't help.
I thought I lived in the sticks![]()
I've been in Tuscaloosa, it is why they came up with the term "the sticks"
The android phone hotspot runs the tv. It will use a chunk of my data plan but so be it. Thanks for the suggestion.

We love the Keys! It's in season so more expensive and tougher to get in to, but definitely warmer!186 days till Lauren's sweet 16 trip to Disney, I am looking forward to the trip, just not looking forward to navigating the new pay to play services.
Melissa came up with the question of do I want to go somewhere for my birthday this year because of how it lands on a weekend. I been trying to think of where I would want to go. So what is worth a visit in February? So far we thought about Savannah, St. Augustine, New Orleans (notice the trend is toward warmer locations.) Any other ideas worth looking into?
