This afternoon was a chore. We decided getting the heavy sofa bed out of the study and into storage would be the best use of time. it was 4 trips down to get it there but it’s out. It took about 4 hours of work.

So you ran a race and then decided to do 4 hours of furniture moving? And you're running again tomorrow?

no but we did go watch. I even saw the elites. I did not know Sara Hall was running since she just did the Trials. She won though.



that was pretty close to the finish. She did win by 9 seconds. After watching the elites we came back and fed Mallory. Gathered our stuff (coffee and chairs) and took Mallory to watch the parade of people.



the weather was excellent. I even had to wear a sweatshirt since we were in the shade. I even managed to see a few people I knew, one a disser from the running boards.

mallory made a friend.



we headed back about 10 am. Breakfast was leftover pizza.

today will be more moving stuff but only one piece should be heavy and it’s not even close to what we did yesterday. I do have a feeling a nap might happen today. Going to moms for dinner tonight, bbq ribs and ice cream cake to celebrate.

So today was a day off from work but not work around the condo. Got the bed into the storage unit and trying to clean up the condo. Bed is on the floor.

4 days to departure. This weekend was spent doing some cleaning and maintenance work when I wasn't on puppy watch as Penny just had her spay. So far I got everything ordered to replace two dead interior LED lights, caulked all the sinks after one seemed to be weeping at the undermount joint. And washed the truck and trailer. Next up is go over the truck for the trip and then install the new TPMS. The excitement is building!!

Whoo hoo!!! One sleep till departure.....lots left to do. Truck and trailer have been gone over, tire pressures adjusted, TPMS happy. My last work day is done, now I can go on to packing and loading my things in the RV. I am packing the laptop, so I will try to get some pictures and posts together for a trip report and start a thread!!

Looking forward to following along! We have 27 days until departure, but we have a week of travel and other stops along the way, so 34 until we enter WDW for the first time in 2 years. DW insists she's going to kiss the ground when we arrive!

I just hope it goes better than our most recent trip. A failed camper A/C while it is 95 degrees and humid in southern Indiana does not make for a good scenario. Two hotel nights, some extra road meals, $1,500 in repairs, and a bunch of hassle later, we were finally back on the road!

Got a puzzle to go with our current interest for the next long(-ish) campout:



Note that on the middle right side is a picture of Alabama's only lighthouse on Sand Island outside the mouth of Mobile Bay in the Gulf of Mexico. It was built on a moving (over decades) barrier sand island due to the tides and had to be reinforced in its location with rocks once the island sand shifted westward (as it does in the northern Gulf of Mexico). Not open for tours and the island is about three square feet wide. It's barely there - but it's still Bama's only ocean night light.

this is the additional storage unit packed completely with our stuff. We moved the couch yesterday. That was a lot harder than I expected. we struggled to get it out the door of the condo and really struggled to get it through the door to the storage unit. very glad I am not having to move it again for a few months. it strained my wrist. I have been having issues with the wrist. I might have to see a dr but I think it’s arthritis from my fall in 2014.

got most of the kitchen done too. Next weekend we get the rig setup in blairsville.

Well today is has been a Fecal Exposition of the FIRST MAGNATUDE. Not long after we got home from The DISMEET in The Rockies I noticed Katie was reluctant to go upstairs at night and more so to come down in the morning, So when i made an appointment last week for the SAVAGES to get Pedicures I voiced my concerns to our vet and described what I was seeing. She gave her Chunkyness a good going over and advised me she need to do X Rays to confirm her fears. Hence at 9 Am I lifted Missy Oversized Derriere into the car and off for X Rays we went.
As it was her Hips that we needed images of and she is reluctant to lay still, she had to be sedated. Happily the first image were what we needed and gave a clear image of how extensive the deterioration of her left hip is. Once she recovered enough from the sedation to walk I loaded her in the car and brought her home to finish recovering from her hang over.
Explaining to Lucille what I saw and was told wasn't easy. We have both been down the DISPLASIA road before and it's never easy. Shad , Harmony, and WookieBear all developed it in their teens. Katie is only five.
Two hours later Lucille and I were back at the Vet for her to explain to Lucille what we are dealing with and our options. Both involve Surgery.
Option one is to surgically alter ball end of her femur bone
Option two is a HIP RELACEMENT.
Drugging her with Pain Meds is an option but she would only recommend that if she was significantly older.

Poor Katie. None of those options sound good. She is too young for this.
