Of course I know Shiregirl (was one of the very first people I met during early Beta), and I do believe I've run into you as well, Captain Brain. As she would say, Wheeee!

Would be happy to help you get hooked in; as always, the difficult part is meeting up with somebody who has me or another lobby owner on their friend's list (Shiregirl is, though).

I have A GIANT question. Why are all these big teleporter networks named after these GIANT discussion boards? For example Dis Teleporter Network (of course) And VMK Fan Site Teleporter Network.I know my friend in VMK and in Dis is in a Dis lobby,and my other friend is in the VMK FAn Site lobby,and both look alike with every room.I mean, it's like people are coping people!

There's nothing terribly original about setting up teleporter networks -- it comes pretty naturally with inter-room teleporters and groups of people.

The Intercot people set one up on their own. I posted ideas about setting board teleporter networks both here and the VMK fan site, but it only initially caught on here at the Dis. Later on, CL_Tinkerblue was the driving force behind starting up the one at the VMK fan site, with help from CL_MrGenie.

I wouldn't call it copying -- it's kind of like in US patent law; can't patent something unless its non-trivial. A teleporter network is kind of trivial.

Structurally, the networks are sort of different. The Intercot network is a Swiss cheese of mini-networks linked together; the Dis network is tightly centralized to minimize the number of lobbies; and the VMK Fan Site network is centralized, but spread out for maximum expandability. None of the networks, I think, actually get much use, LOL.

I did sort of hope, at one point, that the large networks would eventually be linked as well (a Network of Networks), and dedicated a room in the Dis network to link networks. So far, only the VMK fan site network, and a small one of CL_Becky's, are included in that hub of hubs.

Im having a difficult time joining the teleporter lobby.I think all the disers run away from me!I can never find Joe or Astryd or MissBelle or disalex.

Are any of you on these friend lists?

Disalex and MissBelle don't seem to have been on much lately? Astryd is on less nowadays too. Come to think of it, I've been on less too.

I am the newest member of the dis network!!!I am in the Maleficent lobby.I am so happy!Thanks Jean Joe!!!

If anyone has spare crates (just plain gray ones), I could use some for the current Maleficent lobby, as well as for a new lobby.

The Maleficent lobby, in the end, will have ~50 coffin teleporters, using maybe ~150 to ~175 crates. This lobby currently could use another ~20 crates to finish filling to capacity (currently at ~40 coffins).

The new lobby won't initially need ANY crates, but as it fills to capacity, it will also eventually use ~150-175 crates.

Of course, the new DIS Kids Network, I think, is also in need of crates, so if you catch CL_TigressJewel or PurpleDuck first, please help them out.
