Katie! It's your birthday!? I didn't realize! HAPPY BIRTHDAY girlfriend! :rockband: :cake: :jumping1: party: :drinking1 (RJ - u need to share that birthday list!!:goodvibes ) What'ya doin' tonite? Anything special? I think the water park day sounds like fun. I take it you mean that instead of one of the other parks? (The dog finally got into the elevator:rotfl: He will often bark at it until it opens...then he gets in & rides it all day.:confused3 )

I looked at the link for FLTours...it said "free grocery stop if round trip" & a $25 fee for a limo stop...so I emailed them for more info! If they charge $25 extra for not being round trip it's probably cheaper to rent a car or to price Happy Limos or something else... I've heard there is a Dollar car rental in DTD somewhere - I need to figure out how to get ahold of them maybe. TRM - what's the name of your family guy limo?

So RJ - does this mean you all are not going to WDW pre-cruise if you're gathering at the Radisson the nite before?! We're already booked for our 3 n at WDW so I guess we'll hook up with everyone sometime at the port / on the ship or wherever / whatever..... Hope you're having fun at Chez Knebel!

Awww, thanks guys. :goodvibes So far, just another day of working and cleaning. I also went and visited my parents because its Dads birthday too. Tonight DH and the boys will take me out to dinner....just what I need after eating like a pig all week. ;) I think we will do something low key. My parents had offered to watch the kids so we could go out for a nice dinner, either tonight or tomorrow night, but I just wont appreciate a "nice" dinner right now so I took a rain check on the babysitters. Wait til Im back on the diet for a couple weeks. ;) Plus with tonight being the BC game and tomorrow the Patriots...well, just bad timing. I think we will need to go somewhere tonight that has tvs so we can catch the BC game. :happytv:

A pre cruise meet does sound great, however, like Annie, I will be at WDW that night. :( Wait a minute...thats not :( But not meeting up with the peeps is... :(

And yes, Annie, we have never been to a water park so I figured this was the trip to do it. Usually we have APs so we do a lot of the main parks and never venture over to those. The kids were never too interested until recently too. The reason we only have 1 day/1park admission is because a couple years ago we did the free dining package but we had APs, so we got the base ticket for all of us with the package and didnt use them. I used mine on my recent trip, but the others still have theirs. So we will spend Thursday by the pool, mini golfing, dinner (or lunch) out, then Friday either MK or Epcot, and Saturday a water park (not sure which one yet) with diner at Jiko. At least that is the plan for now. With over 6 months to go, that is subject to change.

We usually go to both water parks when we're there for a whole week. We sorta prefer Blizzard Beach over Typhoon Lagoon. We like the theme & the slides at Blizzard Beach better but Typhoon Lagoon has the big wave pool tho. If you get there during the early opening hours at either park you can get a good spot to plop down with your stuff.

Here's a picture of DH & DS after they went down Summit Plummet - it's like the world's highest water slide! (It starts up in the very tippy top of that ski chalet looking building at the top! ) I didn't go down that one - I DID do the one just to the left that you really can't see much of - it's not quite as steep and it's got this hump in the middle - that's actually what you can see in the picture. I think it was called Slushin' Gusher or something like that....THAT was quite enough thrill for me! I thought I lost my bathing suit on that one! LOL - I was afraid to stand up at the bottom! But they've got a great area for Colt's age at BB....floating ice bergs etc.

Somehow we always seem to finish up at Typhoon Lagoon earlier. This summer we went at 8:00 & were done by 10:30! (Don't forget tho - we go commando thru all the parks!) But if your guys like waves they may like it better...:confused3

DH bought a snow blower today.:sad2: He's always wanted one. (Lazy guy thing I think.) We don't typically get enough snows that it necessitates needing one - but he got a really, really good deal on it at his work - he just discovered they carry them in their Leesburg, VA store and he can get stuff for 10% over cost. I researched them last nite - this one is a single stage Toro & it gets pretty OK reviews - as long as it's an 8" or less snow and we weren't going to find one for less money anywhere else! I told him if we're expecting more than 8" tho that he'll have to go out mid-way thru & do it twice! So anyway, now it gets x-ferred to the MD store where he works & then delivered from there. We usually get one or two snows a year that make us WISH for one. Not like up there in MA or NY where I'm sure everybody needs and has one... Now he needs to make room for it in the garage!! Next we need a shed!!

I am the opposite! I LOVE Typhoon because on a hot day, it is very shady and tropical...i don't like the bare look of BB

Did you know wine is very fine?? Eroica is even finer!!

:lmao: Betsy! Are you drinking?:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info! I have heard Blizzard Beach is more for thrill seekers, which I know Cam isnt, but from what I have seen of it I would like to go to check it out. Also, from watching the Beach Party Sing Along video for years I've been sold. ;) Those icebergs look way cool! Ive never been too thrilled about these water parks because while I would love the slides I wear contacts and Im afraid I'd end up losing them. So basically as long as they having something I can just float around in or sit on a lounge chair, Im good. ;)

LOL on the snow blower! Yep up here when DH is doing the entire street, he needs one. He actually got a new one 2 years ago and of course the past 2 years we have had very little snow. Hes putting it to good use this year though. Looks like we could get anohter 6 inches Sun-Mon...just when the roads were starting to clear up.

Katie - i wear contacts too..I bought some small goggles a few years ago and now I go down all the slides..i wear them around my neck when I am not sliding..works great

Alrighty now - let's test out these new servers!:cool1:

I gave up on wearing contacts many years ago & went back to glasses - so MY problem is that I wear RX sunglasses (and an RX mask for snorkeling). These slides are a real challenge for sunglasses! And now that I'm into the no-lines bifocal stage of life they're really expensive to boot! LOL...depending on the slide, sometimes I just take them off & hold them, sometimes I put a strap on them and try to keep them on and sometimes I just stupidly leave them on w/o a strap (which proved to be a mistake last summer at Kings Dominion - I lost them in the pool at the bottom when I hit it and they had to shut the slide down for a few minutes & the lifeguard at the bottom went in with goggles & found them)!!:rotfl: Oh Yeah - it's people like me who make the world go around! :rotfl2: I agree the little swim goggles would be a perfect solution tho for contacts!

DH is converting his company to a new computer system on Jan. 2 so he's been extra busy & stressed - and had to go in to work today...up at 6:30. I'm thinkin' if he's not around I may have to be the one to make room in the garage for his new toy.:headache:

Trying to decide what to take to the neighbors for NYE...spicy artichoke dip? Brie & spinich dip? Chicken Pecan dip? Hummm. Chicken Wing Dip...I don't know. I have a lot of really good dip recipes that I make - but not a lot of good appetizer type recipes. I have a recipe I haven't made in a LONG time for these little sausage roll things that go into Pepperidge Farm Pastries - but they're time consuming to make. Sesame pork rounds goes over well...but I would have to go to the store today as they marinate a day before you cook them...they are YUMMY tho. I could make Pulled Pork BBQ & get little rolls for something a little more substantial... Anybody got any other ideas for something tasty, quick & easy?!:confused3

hi everyone

hope everyone had a great Christmas and Santa was good to everyone.

Now what is this im reading about a pre-cruise meet at the radisson, does this mean that their we be no pre-cruise meet at WDW, we had planned on staying there two day before the cruise and then a week after the cruise. But I think we could change plans and stay at WDW for ! day then go to the Radisson at the Port, my ! question is how is everyone getting down to the port before the cruise are you going to rent a car, please let me know......

(Cheri here) our WDW plans aren't ready for press yet. We've talked about staying at the Flinstone Family Motel or Jetson Junior Suites but all is up in the air. With years of commando park days, any time on this next trip will be unplanned wandering. That's why we (ok, Beano) thought it would be fun to have everyone in the same place the night before - to meet or re-recognize some faces and have the kids get to know each other in the way cool pool. and a night there is waaaaay cheaper than on property.

Now to work on the logistics of how to get from property to Radisson.... I personally will most likely email FL Tours to see what we can work out. We've done very complicated stuff with them before and it worked. Or was it Southern Elegance? hm...land MCO -> limo to grocery to property-> limo to Radisson-> shuttle/beegtaxi to port*-> limo to hotel before flying home (easy peasy lemon squeasy)

No one was thinking of flying in ON the day of sailing, right?

* let's face it, there is NO way all of us are going to fit on ONE shuttle unless it's a BUS - and I'm thinkin' there might be some other people who think they deserve to go to the port too - they won't have asked Mother May I, so they'll be wrong, but they'll still want to go. Hence the potential need for alternate tranport.

Ok, is anyone else so excited that we have gotten to the point that we are close enough to be thinking about this stuff????:cool1:

A pre cruise WDW meet would be cool too. While I pretty much know what we are doing, there are still a couple variables. If we are to be near anyone at any point, Id love to meet up. Annie, Im sure we will get a chance to meet at AKL.

And hey, good news...my return flight went up from 144.00 to 164.00...for once I booked at the right time. :woohoo: I usually wait til it goes up then panic and book at the higher rate.

Right NOW, this very minute, I am FUMING! DH comes home about 30 min. ago from work and says the guy who's hosting NYE had called him today & said that our next door neighbor had told them that she asked US to have the kids...wanted to know what the deal was!!!!!!!!:scared1: I was like DEAL? There is no deal. The DEAL is that I told her NO, I was not comfortable with it. And then she said she was asking so & so about it...so I don't know what happened to THAT plan. Sigh. OK, so then in a hot headed moment I fired off a not so nice email to her. They come back from the Bahamas tomorrow and I haven't heard from her since I told her no. I don't know where the wires got crossed - I told DH fine - if the kids come here I stay home & he can go w/o me. I am so angry right now my hands are shaking & my heart is pounding and my ears are ringing! I tried to call the couple who's hosting the adults & they didn't answer. I wanted to get more scoop from them. :headache:  :sad2: Is it too early for a drink?!

CamColt - yes - we'll just have to have our own little Dis meet I guess....;) Good news on your flight going down...I called SW - they are to release their dates up until August on January 9! That means AirTran will probably also release around the same time I think...THEN I can book once I can see all of the options. (I wish JetBlue would offer more than 2 direct flights / day.)

They DO seem faster, however I'm not getting email notifications to any threads all day - including our cruise meet.... What's up with that?:confused3

Oh Annie! What a mess! At this point I say all 4 of you stay home....you DH, DS and the Captain! The heck with all of them. An no, its not too early for a drink.

And no, my flights went up! :rotfl: Im happy because I booked before they did. I usually wait, thinking they will go down, then they go up and I kick myself. LOL! So for once I did the right thing and booked before they went up.

When I saw you had posted to this thread I thought the same thing...no email notification. Hmmm????

That's what I meant - I was so angry when I was typing before I couldn't spit it out right...but I do the same thing - I panic when I watch the fares! It's like watching the stock market when you're in a buy / sell mode!:)

I told DH - I don't NEED to be thrown under the bus like that over this kids party thing - I told him I'd stay home first (and pout)! This really sucks tho 'cuz Debbie is my best friend here in the 'hood & I don't like that this is turning a little ugly.... And the other thing is that she's the one who first brought up NYE and sent out this big email to everyone volunteering her house for the kids blah, blah, blah. Now she wants out of it and I'm sorry...but........just no can do. Hopefully Mike & Sherrie will call me back shortly & clarify things (it's possible that DH may have only gotten 1/2 of the story)....

I meant to ask before....???? :confused3

:scared1: Would you believe I actually did that on my first cruise. I had no clue back then. :rolleyes1

Hey ya'll - looks like we're the only ones around CamColt!

Did ya watch the Patriots last nite? Good game. DH is leaving around Noon for his Redskins game...of course he's hoping to win so they can make the playoffs but...it's the Cowboys...I am skeptical (again)! :rotfl:

Have you heard anything yet as to why the email notices aren't going out anymore? The board was REALLY slow last nite...I was shocked - I gave up trying to switch between the DVC boards & logged off. It was excrutiating.

Of course I did. But after a few drinks I dozed off for a bit...until DH yelled when the records were broke. :cheer2: thenI caught the end....very scary, I tell ya! :scared1: But like I said to DH for the first 2 quarters...just wait til the 4th. ;) They seem to come alive then and dig out of any hole they are in.

I did send to check on the email notifications but havent heard back yet. I will let you know if I do.

Of course I did. But after a few drinks I dozed off for a bit...:cheer2:

:lmao: 'Atta girl :rotfl2: That's what I'm talkin' about! ;) Don't leave me hangin' out there to be the lone lush of the bunch! :rotfl:

(just teasin' ya):rolleyes1
