:rotfl: I do what I can, Annie, I do what I can. ;)

So I got an answer on the email notifications. There are some glitches with the new servers, but they are being worked on. :surfweb:

So, it's raining...I do not envy DH for this Redskins game that's for sure! It's not terribly COLD (about 40) which is better than FREEZING - but you sure don't want to be WET!! I sent him off with one of those good heavy duty yellow rain coats. And insulated duck shoes and hand & toe warmers...and he wore wool long johns I think. I have a friend coming over with her Grandson (he's younger - about 5). We will probably go get something to eat then come back & let the boys play on the Wii while we watch the rest of the game on the other TV down there... I got some new raspberry flavored vodka I want to try out.:) (I'm still waiting for Betsy to tell me about Dirty Martini's tho! I've not had one but I saw a mixer for them at World Market - but the bottle didn't have any mixing instructions so I passed on it...)

I have decided to make an Asian pasta dish for tomorrow nite. I also have all the stuff I need to make the brie & spinich dip so if I feel like it I can make that as well - it is SO-O good and one of DH's favorites. The OTHER neighbor emailed everyone today saying they were OK with the kids coming to their house. (Whew!) It's much closer to where the adults are gonna be anyway so it's probably better.

Where is everyone???? Hopefully having fun!

Hope he did Ok, Annie. It amazes me some of the conditions these fans will sit through for a game. I pretty much refuse to go to one up here (if we could even get tickets). ;) Even when we went to Jacksonville last year it rained on us, but at least that was warm and not pouring rain.

Im glad things worked out with the party issue. At least you can enjoy yourself now. We actually just got a last minute party invite. My sister and her family have always gone to party, similar to yours, but for the adults and kids...it went all night. The parents have all sort of drifted apart so the people who threw it arent doing it this year. My 14 yo niece was bummed that she had nothing to do so SHE decided to have a party. :rotfl: I think Im going to make sweet & sour meatballs.

So we have the school party 5:00 - 7:30, then over to my sisters. I probably wont make it until midnight.

CamColt - looks like it's just you & me babe keepin' this thread alive!:goodvibes

So - BIG surprise - the Redskins pulled it off & beat Dallas!:cheer2: So now they play Seattle next week. DH is thrilled! (And I'm glad it's an away game!:) )

:wave2:
Hope everyone has fun :drinking1 party: tonight. Don't forget :love1: at midnight.

And ummm.....I just got the time and location joke, ROFL!!!! Im a bit slow. :rotfl:

Of course it's real...Last year, we stayed at Pluto's Dog House and Casino..I really don't think we are allowed back there unless we have all our shots!

Happy New Year to you all!

We have 1 party down and are on our way to the next one.

Be safe and have fun!

Yo ho ho! Good morning everyone! Happy New Year! Everyone have a fun time?! Believe it or not, I was on my good behavior last nite...started with one Captain Morgan & Diet Coke then switched over to Appletinis. I had shall we say "several" of them, but I don't "lose it" on those like I do with the Captain. That man just gets me in trouble! I guess we came home around 1:30. The kids party seemed to go smoothly. DS couldn't find his gameboy tho when we picked him up - I suppose it will turn up in their basement eventually. :confused3

DH had to work today - that computer conversion is stressing him out. They go live on the new system tomorrow - so he was going to their Chevy Chase location today. We usually "un-decorate" on New Years day. I haven't started yet tho. I will do the window candles & wreaths but not sure if I can do much on the tree w/o him since it was so big. The tree may stay until the weekend. I don't know. He's having his football crew over on Sat. tho for this playoff game...so I don't know what the odds are of it being up or down. Guess I'll have to see what time he gets home this afternoon. If it's not too late we can get it down.

So, does anybody else have a traditional New Years day meal? We always have spare ribs & sauerkraut (with a dime cooked in it for good luck:) ). I rinsed my sauerkraut & put it in the crockpot with a little brown sugar. Then I had bought a beautiful pack of boneless spareribs on Sun. - went to put them in the crockpot over top of the sauerkraut and discovered the package had a big hole in the plastic wrapping so I didn't trust them. It had been in one of those plastic bags from the meat dept. and that DIDNT have a hole so I knew I hadn't done it. I had to run back to the store - took them back & got another pack - but they didn't have any of the boneless ones. They only had the "Country Style" ones cut. The butcher said it would be awhile before they'd have the boneless ones cut - and since I wanted to get them into the crockpot I decided not to wait. They'll be fine - they're a little fattier but mostly I just hate paying for bones!:goodvibes

OK, better go do something productive for a little while....

I gotta ask...what is the significance of the dime?

Nothing special here. We will do left overs from the party last night. I also made some toasted ravioli to bring, so we have some of those left over, meatballs, wings, calzones, etc... Once again, too much food! Tomorrow I start whipping myself into shape. Then again, I thought that last year, hurt my leg, and then went to pot in 07. :guilty: But I have a cruise to think about this year. :scared1:

So its just a dark dreary snowy/raniy day here. I'm taking today to get some stuff in order around the house. The play room needed a good cleaning and my office too. This starts the busy time for work so for the next month and a half(until my trip) I will do pretty much nothing but work. :surfweb: I can't function in a house that is in total disarray so, while I have a slow day, I want to get things ready.

I guess it's just supposed to represent good luck with finances for the new year or something. I'm not sure where the spareribs & kraut come from tho either - I'm thinking 'cuz it's sort of a budget conscious kind of meal?! And the ribs and kraut are alway out together in the meat dept. (on sale) for New Years. Anyway, I'm a little superstitious - there was one year several years ago I forgot to put the dime in and it was a horrible year. I got laid off, the stock market tanked - it was just a rough year. There may not be a DARNED thing to it - but by golly I'm gonna cook it anyway!:rotfl: (I clean it first!)

Happy New Year! We just said our g'byes to da Croutons:sad1: . Too many former people needed him at home so they left a few days early. Well at least we planned our next trip to goof around together and picked our ADR places for July - and managed a glass o' the grape or two (and you should see the empty beer cans - or maybe you shouldn't.)

We all Wiibowled and cow raced. Now who sat in the planning meeting at Nintendo and said, "OK, now for Wii sports we'll put in golf, table tennis and cow racing." ???? it's hilarious

So, DH is still at work. DS helped me take down all 25 window candles and the wreaths from the front then I went out & took down all of the outside lights - well, all except for the rope lights around the front door & the garage 'cuz I didn't want to get the ladder out. We must have 15 sets of lights out there. That dumb Mickey & Friends sled was a pain to break down too - had to use plyers on it. Anyway, everything outside is almost done & back in the basement. Guess the tree will stay up until next weekend... Oh, and I cleaned out the garage yesterday & re-arranged it to make room for the new snowblower when it's delivered. It was very windy today so I brought most of the stuff in there to disassemble & pack up - I sure was glad I had cleaned first!:goodvibes Now if only my bedroom was clean.....
