In PA it's even worse. The liquor stores are state run. The beer and wine are at one store and the had liquor is in A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORE!

It is hard to buy alcohol on the east coast. I remember when we first moved there in NJ - we musta walked around the grocery store like 6 times looking for the alcohol aisle. Never did find it. Apparently alcohol is in A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORE! Why does that make sense? We decided it was a mafia thing.

In bad weather it can take you ALL DAY to get your alcohol bought. It's so stoopid!!

We had our favorite store in Delaware. All alcohol in one location and no sales tax!!

Our liquor in Maryland is also in a state run store! Or is it County run - yeah, maybe County run. There are also beer & wine stores tho w/o the hard stuff. Each county has one grocery store that is allowed to sell beer & wine - I just HAPPEN to pass by ours on my way home from work...so I usually pick up DH's Miller Lite, Smirnoff Ice's, Mikes Hard Lemonades & wine over there...but gotta make a special effort for the Captain! I know the lines here when they're calling for snow are terrible! Grocery store for milk, bread & TP and the liquor store for something to keep you warm in case the power goes out!

LOVE shopping tax free in Delaware - esp. the outlets!

And question: SueEllen maybe knows this...If I buy enough gift cards through our school scrip program to pay for the cruise - I believe these are in the form or Disney gift cards...Can I use these for payment towards our cruise? The school gets some fundraising $$ and I can pay for them with my discover card and get the cash back!! Seems like a win win. Anybody ever done this?

You can use the Disney gift cards for payments on your cruise, so if your school has something set up that they get cash back on these then I say go for it!

Christmas lights on tree... Ryan may learn a few new words if I try that. Wonder how hard putting lights on a tree really is? Or maybe go with no lights this year. Like Ryan is gonna go for that one. Ho hum. Better go eat and fortify myself for the upcoming patience test.

TRM - good plan with the gift card thing if they're really Disney Gift Cards! How does one pay for their cruise with a bunch of Disney Gift Cards? Do you have to mail 'em in? Oh, and you mean Ryan doesn't know all these words yet? You can do the lights! Seriously - you've never done them before? Count how many strands you have first, size up the tree and then using our rule of thumb - just like you said, use about 100 per foot of height! Start from the bottom & work your way up! Re-adjust as necessary as you go! You can do it, you can do it, you can do it!

Gave up on lights on tree. And yes Annie - this is my inaugural attempt. I was gonna say it's my first time but.... Anyhow, Dad always did the lights growing up and during single days....huh? Don't know. And now its Neil's job. But he is not here.

So most people told me to start at the top? Tree is about a 9'er I would say. Found 4 strands of lights that actually plug in end to end (that's important right?) Lights keep blinking out on me. Several of the lights are broken. No replacements in light box. I have two bandaids on one finger. And this tree is the kind where the branches are spaced far apart. Oh some kind of fir tree. Not my favorite kind but comes from family forest, part of the tradition...we've already covered that... And the lights I have are double stranded and seem to heavy for the branches and the branches are just pointing down now and so I give up for the evening and am enjoying a nice EOS Private Reserve Chardonnay.

Neils advice from New Orleans: Throw those lights away and go buy new ones. Ryan is thoroughly disgusted. And the cat is having a hey day.

Tomorrow is Ryans birthday party. Lord give me strength.

Hey gang! Remember me?

Im back...unfortunately. We had a great trip, despite the fact I started it off thinking I was going to die. I didnt realize how out of it I was those last couple days at home until I started getting better and realized just how bad I was. On the plane I had the chills for the first half then I started breaking out with the sweats. All the meds I was taking had me out of it. We went right to Dolphin, checked in, and I went to bed, LOL! Boy, don't you guys want to vacation with me? I'm a barrel of laughs.

But I made it to the podcast meet which was nice, then I didnt care how crappy I felt, my mother wasn't missing out on CA Grill, so I fought through that dinner. By Friday I was on the down side of it and I could just tell I was getting better and better, so then the fun kicked in. I still have a lovely cough and the runny nose bit, but this I can live with.

The weather was perfect. This was my warmest December trip yet! We had some good meals (from what I could taste), met up with friends and had some laughs. The Jellyrolls meet was fun and a few us us went to PI for Buckets O Booze which was a good time too.

Coming home, especially with a delay due to bad weather up here stunk. But it made my day when I walked in and saw I got some nice deliveries from the peeps! Thanks so much guys. Crouton family, you guys crack me up! Great pic! I see I have a lot of catching up to do now. Hope to be able to stop by and catch up more with you guys soon. I'm thinking I may have time by New Years, LOL!
