BOO Yosemite!! Are her games at Yosemite High School? Do you have a tourny schedule yet? You gotta drive right by the ranch to get there! Perhaps I can meet you up there if you know the tentative schedule. That is if'n you are driving up there.??

Don't know the actual schedule...all I know is that she has to be to school before 6am , so I have to get up earlier on a Saturday than I would on a school day!

5am wake up calls should only be for sumthin like vacation or Disney related!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Mornin' Peeps! :surfweb:

Today's VB game is in Coalinga....:cheer2: GO LADY VIKINGS! :cheer2:

Good luck Johnnie!!!!

ok, now this is just gross!!! I haven't listened to the podcast yet so I don't have the details BUT... from the Podcast Thread: the Magic is going to do Alsaska (and maybe Hong Kong?) cruises for the '09 and '10 summers!!!! <insert pukey smiley guy here> No likey to look at da beeg ice cubes on summer vacation! Want warm summer breezes on tropical island with drinkies holding umbrellas in 'em! And no likey crossing the coooooold choooooopy Pacific to get to Hong Kong!!

Now, about those Adventure by Disney vacations.... harumph! stoopid cruise line:mad:

I saw a couple of threads about this....but until it's announced it's only rumors!:goodvibes I would like to do Alaska....ONE DAY. And if I'm gonna go, let it be on Disney!!! I don't think we'll be financially able to go again in 2009 or 2010. BUT, look at it like this - it would mean more Panama Canal crossings - man I would LOVE to do one of those - if only they would do it in a summer month when we don't have school to miss!! I just can't take DS out of school for more than a day or two...too much guilt! They need to do them not before the middle of June and / or they need to end / return by the 3rd week of August!! Do they not realize how many people can't (or in our case won't) go because so far they keep planning them during the school year?! :headache: If you think they sell out fast NOW....what if they were even more feasible with better travel dates?!

ANYWAY, this is another reason why we're thinking about not cruising again until 2012 - when the 2nd new ship is out....then we'll have 4 itineraries to choose from! Preferably tho we'd like to go on one of the new ships! That reminds me....my "2012 cruise fund" envelope needs taken to the bank again!:cool1: Got $1K saved up now!! :dance3: But I've been thinking about using it toward more DVC points...........then starting the "cruise fund" all over again............I don't know.............$1K that DH doesn't know about!:lmao:

:scared1: Too early!!! Wish her luck!

I thought I was the only person on the Dis who felt this way. I get enough cold and snow and ice at home and I hate it then...WHY would I go on vacation to see it? And I do NOT think it is "pretty" in any way shape or form. ;) The biggest thing ticking me off is they seem to think the Wonder will do alternating 3, 4, and 7....which is what I was hoping for for 08 so we could do a 7 day! ARGH! It seems DCL goes out of their way to not accomodate me. :lmao:

I think a lot of people like the IDEA of Alaska. But when you get down to it, um, I can't imagine making little kids schlep around on some of those excursions (c'mon! we're gonna go on (another) boat and look at whales! - yeah, that would last for all of 5 minutes.) There are a bunch of parents who want to do this but IMO, it doesn't suit kids well at all. At least with the warmer locations, families can get off and go play on the beach somewhere. :sad2: but that's just me and our "I wanna relax and be where it's warm" mentality. I wonder what those Grand Suites on RCCL or Crystal look like.

BTW- I did listen to the podcast and what the unofficial official rumors are: 2009 Alaska and 2010 Hong Kong with the Wonder alternating between 3/4/7 day cruises.

Ya ask me, DCL is screwing up. I can think of few, if any, vacations I enjoy more than being on board the Magic/Wonder. That said, ain't no way I'm going on them to Alaska or Hong Kong!

As ophie would say, "oh no, we ain't havin' that."

Maybe that would be ok after the new ships are in service; then they can send the Magic to Calif. and the Wonder to Alaska...

and I can be in the newer, bigger cat. 1 suite in the Caribbean!! :woohoo:

Disney caters to kids. Kids don't want to look at icebergs and whales, they want to go down the big waterslide and snorkel at Castaway Cay. And so do I! <insert steel drum music here>

When I'm packing, I want tank tops, swim suits and sunscreen; not parkas, earmuffs and pocket warmers.

Beano has spoken. :rotfl:

i can tell you...Nick went on an Alaskan cruise 2 years ago and was MISERABLE!!!! He now judges ALL cruises based on that and that is why I am having such a hard telling him he will have fun on Disney!!:confused3
No fun for a teen...REALLY not gonna be fun for under 10 set!

so say sumthin' on of those threads! I get to be one of the lone voices every year when it's time to announce new itineraries. "No Alaska" I say. And, everyone says, "oh, but I just know how educational my DD/DS will find it!" <gag me beeg time!!!>

My little brother Zach had a horrible time as well a few years ago when he went. I think he was around 14. My dad kept showing him the animals and glaciers. The kids couldn't care less and just wanted to go home.

Just may have to check into those Grand Suites, I'm tellin' ya.

:goodvibes Mornin' All...Happy Wednesday!

Our freshman VB team suffered their 1st loss last night....bummer :sad2:

BLECH! :scared: to Alaska, although Hong Kong could be interesting ;)

I used to...but it got old hearing how great Alaska is, LOL! I guess the kids could always go in the pool, ROFL!

Bummer, RJ! :( Beter luck next time.

Chris and I talked about Hong Kong last night and he said pretty much the same thing I thought: 10 days (at least) on the cold, rough Pacific and then at least $900/person to fly home cattle class for 10 hours. (Cheri don't fly cattle) Although he did say Hong Kong is pretty cool. So, for us, the issue is pretty dead.

If'n you wanna go, DU is taking deposits for the waiting list. Or so I read...

Timmy said Johnnie lost her game. Sorry Lady Vikings. :guilty: (I think they used ALL of their message allotment last night. Geez, all I heard was BEEP BEEP for hours . Guess they're getting along :rotfl: )

OK, off to find black and white formal dress for Cassie and I as that is what SIL has decided the females must wear to fancy dinner Saturday night :sad2:

Geez, all I heard was BEEP BEEP for hours . Guess they're getting along :rotfl: )

First - Unlimited messaging...worth the $9.99!!

Second - My message plays the DCL Horn..Rick and Nick think it is the most annoying message tone..especially when I get 20 messages in a row! :rotfl:

:scared1: :sad2: :scared: Oh no! we ain't havin' that...

I agree. Could not get DH to do repo cruise to Med for the same reason. Too many days at sea. But maybe they are going to put the ship over there to tie in with the HKDL? Can you cruise around the islands of Japan?:confused3

Annie - fellow heroes watcher...at the end...the twins trying to get into US from Mexico (ok what kind of weird power do they have anyways!?) The kid they rescued from jail - he said "I have a car" Was that Claire's stolen car?
hhmmm... And Syler - guess he never heard "Don't eat the brain of the hand that feeds you". :rotfl:

RJ - did some Christmas shopping today!

Those twins are freaky aren't they? She gets the black ooze stuff in her eyes and kills ppl then he revives them...very strange....but agree they should stay together! And YES - that was Claire's stolen car!! Another freaky coincidence?! I think not! I love Hiro & Ando tho....I feel bad for Hiro - he needs to get lucky just once! :rotfl2: Syler - biggest freak of all of them...scary one that guy is!

Christmas shopping...ahhh...maybe I'll start this weekend at the beach (outlets - no tax in Delaware!) We'll see...got 6 Moms in a minivan with one of those "coffin" luggage racks...suitcases, pillows, coolers....we went last year with 5 Moms & barely fit on the way home after we hit the outlets for 4 or 5 hours!!:rotfl: Maybe we need a 2 hour limit this year?!:lmao:

Work had a (mandatory) company picnic / softball game this afternoon - around the beltway in Silver Spring...so got home late. Tonight is mid-week laundry & packing a little...they say the van is pullin' out at 1:00 on Friday & I have to work until Noon....means I gotta be ready Fri. AM before I go to work.... Tomorrow nite I have to run by the pediatricians on the way home to pick up DS's RX, hit the bank, Target (for RX's), the grocery store (for snacks) and DS has a den meeting at 7:00

Hey TRM - I gots one thing to say to you:

Go Johnna, Go Johnna!!! :cool1:  :cheer2:

'tinkryansmom' showed the guys how it's done and won week 5 in the NFL football pool!

I might note that RonnieJo came in third, giving the women 2 of the top 3 spots!

(But just wait till next week, when I kick both your butts!)

Or not. Yeah, probably not. :guilty:

BTW - did you catch who that was playing the old woman in New Orleans that evil mom went to see?!:rotfl: That was funny!

Eh... ya might not want to quote me on this one...

Alaska would be awesome. :teeth:
