ok, to get the Expedition smog tested. Honestly I am pretty sure it's putting enough smog into the air, but will the DMV trust my word on the matter? Government! Sheesh!

 Sorry RJ! Do you guys live in the desert?!

Hey new peep, Imelda! Welcome! I'm sure you will love the cruise! Now are you doing both or just 1?

And you share DH's birthday. He will be turning the big 4-0 on the cruise. :lmao: My kids will be close to your kids ages too. Cam will be 11 and Colt will be 8.

It's nice to have another newbie. Annie and I were the only ones who don't know the rest (well, Ive met Sue Ellen a few times)...although sometimes I fell like I actually have known this gang forever. :grouphug: We have a great bunch here. Glad to have you join in.

Hello to everyone already here!!! This will be our first cruise ever. I know, I know, we've been under a rock somewhere. Actually, we are totally addicted to WDW. We "discovered" WDW in the summer of 2001 and will be visiting again for the 13th time this Christmas.

I have pretty much refused to do anything other than the World for fear of missing it too much. Hence, it took my entire family to convince me to finally try a cruise. But, now, I am very excited about cruising.

My crew consists of DH (Orlando--love that name!),
me (celebrating my 36th birthday on July 24),
DD ("T" -- truly her nickname, real name is Tatiana, age 11, sporty, a bit scared of being in the kids' club since she will be a whopping 12 y.o. at the time of the cruise),
DD (Natasha, age 7, artsy, sporty, will watch the cruise planning dvd with me over and over)

Well, that's us. Looking forward to getting to know everybody.

Hi there Imelda - welcome to the group! My little :dance3: family is me (40 something), DH (Daryl - 30 something) and one DS (Jared) who will be 11 when we go on the cruise. We live in Maryland, about 25 miles outside of DC...real suburbia. Next yr. will only be our 2nd cruise... Let's see, what else? I'm partial to Captain Morgan with Diet Coke and tend to over indulge sometimes...Oh, and I drink wine from a box and sometimes little mini bottles with screw tops. (How do you feel about boxed wine?!:rotfl: )

Yes! Another newbie!!

Hey there Camcolt - do you guys up there get a whole week off from school at Presidents Day? I was on the phone with DVC Member Services checking out some stuff on my way home this evening & the CM said that a lot of schools in New England have that whole week off and that the parks are pretty crowded!! I didn't know that. We're still tossing this quickie winter trip idea around the dinner table.... I think personally, I would appreciate a trip more in February than I would in January (will be sick & tired of the cold by then) but the room rates ARE a little higher than in January - but DH would prefer the LOWEST crowds which I guess would be in January... But I'm thinking that MLK weekend is RIGHT AFTER the holidays...not sure if I'd feel rushed. I don't know. We've never gone anywhere in the winter before... Uh...ohh....may need a new spreadsheet! Air temperatures...crowds...prices! Pros / Cons....

Who amongst us has gone over Pres. Day weekend before? How are the lines? Are they as bad as they are in July or August? If we want to go to the pool will we freeze our butts off?! How about Splash Mountain - that sounds like it could be a cold one?!:confused3

Hi Annie,

Yep we get all of Presidents week off (well, the kids do). That was my problem with finding air to CA. The prices are insane for that whole week.

Ive been in December when its been pretty chilly (at night we wore winter jackets and mittens) and during the day the lifeguards were in sweats, but there were still some people in the pool. I draw the line putting on a bathing suit at about 75 degrees, but I know my kids would swim if colder. The pools are heated.
