Just a quick look at my #51 from the club amendments list... (now that I've finally learned how to manuever around photobucket - DW usually does photo emailing and such for out of state grandparents, etc) - I thought I'd share what I look at each time I'm in my office.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I love it! I just joined a new group and don't have an office until the fall when we are relocating to a larger space to accomidate our growth. I will have to find a place in it for all my memorabilia.

ok, i cancelled all my morning apts for tuesday so i can stay awake tonight and watch the "awarding of the cup". (and to watch snifflin sid:sad: post game interviews) :woohoo:

We did however have a Mickey wedding cake knife, and our ring bearer carried our rings on a little Mickey & Minnie wedding pillow.

We also went to WDW for our Honeymoon and four months earlier I proposed to my wife in the front seat of the Rockin' Roller Coaster just before take off! Believe it or not she was crazy enough to say yes.

Your amendments have been added. Also, how's the baby doing?

I think it's called a City Pass... and it is pretty cool. They have a link for it, an option to upgrade even, when selecting park tickets on the DL website - at least if you order a vacation package.

I want to do the City Pass one day real soon! I want to go camping with my son in the San Diego Zoo too. Did anybody hear about a fire at Universal Studios in California? :confused3 A co-worker told me that the Back To The Future attraction burned down a few days ago.

Oh Yeah I'mNoPrince, we're all over this one and it should have an even better HD Cam soon. I'll check what's going on with it and post once I hear. I don't expect it will be down for too much longer and it should be much improved very soon!! Check out my signature and the same camera should be available there soon.

Bill

I don't know if this has been posted here, but I just came across this live feed from WDW at the Boardwalk http://www.ustream.tv/channel/dislivehttp://www.ustream.tv/channel/dislive

Thanks for both of these! Put an instant smile on my face. :cool2:

I just finished stophers first day trip report from his recent DL solo excursion and it was awesome! I learned so much about DL. If you have not checked it out yet you should. The link is below.

Great job Stopher!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'll be checking it out tonight! :thumbsup2

Gotta add me to the list.

Although I would use the umbrella. :lmao:

82. Your passion for Disney is strong but you would rather get soaked before using your wife's/daughter's Tinker Bell umbrella.

Your amendment has been added (usng the Tinkerbell umbrella). :rotfl:

Oh that was terrible - from a film perspective - much of the backlot was destroyed. I have seen many photos of it since it happened Sunday, and so many classic sets are now just rubble. Some of the classic films and (not so classic, too) that were filmed there where the fire ravaged, and destroyed... include so many more than I can even think of right now, but here's a tiny sampling:

Back to the Future
The Sting
To Kill a Mockingbird
Gremlins
Frankenstien
Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstien
Spiderman 2
countless TV shows
and so many more

My first job between my sophmore and junior year of HS was at Universal Hollywood - and I spent many an afternoon down on the backlot that summer, so it was sad to see so much of it engulfed in flames. The backlot dates back to the '20s, and it is the only "major" backlot remaining in So. Cal. Many, many studios use it, including Disney. Parts of all 3 POTC films were shot on the Uni lot! Hollywood's U.S. is an actual working studio, whereas Orlando's is more a glorified celebration of film through attractions - and a few soundstages for tv stuff.

Not the attraction (Although, I believe that Bart Simpson took that one out himself recently) just the original movie sets. Some other movie sets as well. I also heard that it took out the King Kong attraction although I'm not sure that it was still running anyway.

This is sad. I didn't get a chance to see those sets. The last time I was at Universal Studios CA I was 7 years old. The only thing I can remember was walking on the bedroom set of Barnaby Jones. Anybody 35 and older remember that show?

How come I'm just hearing about this Universal Studios Fire? :confused3 Either I've had my head in the clouds the past few days or we have some of the sorriest news reporters in the country here in NC. It's most likely the cloud thing. I just pray that God will protect Disney from any disaster like this!!!

Check out these links to see how the backlot looked BEFORE the fire...

and AFTER the fire

Yeah....the Simpsons just opened at USH a week or so ago - but if I remember right, it's on the Upper Lot whereas the fire was on the backlot or Lower Lot - USH is built on multiple levels, since it covers hillsides and valley floors (where the backlot is located). The opening scene of ET was filmed on one ridge of the lot, looking out over the San Fernando Valley. The Pyscho house sits on a side of the hill over looking the backlot. For their sake, it was a very good thing that the winds didn't fuel the fire - the way it's all situated, the fire "could" have rushed right up the hillsides and done a LOT more damage than it did.

Anyway, John is going to be on the NBC nightly news on Thursday, 630est. If you get the chance, check it out!
