Hey, can't believe I just found this thread!

I've only been 4 times, but I've already got the kids hooked. Now about the wife...:confused3 Although on our last trip she did actually look for some Mickey underwear - FOR ME! ;) She said she couldn't find any, but I need to look too!

I got hooked when I became a Disney Husband. The I had a DD and DS and I am now HOOKED as a DisneyFAN, DisneyHUSBAND, and (my favorite) a DisneyDAD! Welcome to all new Dads

I'm in :mickeyjum

43 going on 12 (DW agrees). Becoming a dad of DD5 was the best thing that ever happened to me. And then bringing DD5 to WDW and seeing her eyes light up constantly was/is magical.

I really enjoyed reading this entire thread...nope, I'm not a dude/guy but I am a single parent therefor I am both the Mom and Dad ;)

So, in reading how super-mega-Disney you all are, I am wondering if any of you applied for Disney's part-time Chief Magic Official Job on careerbuilders.com last month? Would have been the perfect job for many of you, especially the OP!

Ok, taking thy female self out of here. TTFN!

I'm glad my wife found this thread. I've been preparing for this group my entire life. I've been to Walt Disney World too many times to count. It almost feels like I grew up there. Although, my new Disney vacation spot is now Castaway Cay.

I'm also 40 in March! Bring on middle age.

I just wanted to thank ben for sending me to this thread:thanks:

Wow, just found this thread through a link on another board. Don't know how I have been hanging around here this long and not found it!

I probably fit nearly all the signs and symptoms in the original post, well, except for number 7 :), and am the biggsest 40 year old kid I know, LOL.

Brief Disney history. First visit to WDW was back in 83 when I was in high school. That cinched it for me as THE place I wanted to vacation and visit for a very long time. We visited again in just a few short years, but then took a VERY long hiatus due to uncontrollable circumstances. (Read, lack of money, hehe).

Cut ahead a few years. My wife and I were married back in 89. We visited WDW for the first time together in the early 90's, and again, due to financial reasons, had not visited for nearly 15 years. Well, long story short, we went back again for the first time with out 4 year old daughter last April, then again in August, and were going again THIS April. :goodvibes

Yep, we are truly hooked, and now, thank God, more capable of feeding my\our addiction more regularly.

Anyway, enough rambling. Glad I found this thread, and good to know there are quite a few Dad's out there as well! For a while, I thought I was one of a very small handful of guys that loved this stuff so much!

:scratchin I'm just a little curious here. Seeing the ages of the all the dads posting I think I have most of you beat, I'm 54yrs old---going on 10---.I took my first trip in 1974:hippie: , when we couldn't afford to stay at the Poly for 80.00/nt.. I know it's not a good thing asking the ladies what their age is:scared: but guys don't have a problem with the question:hourglass . I'd like to know what the ages of all the dads are.

I am 40 years old. I remember taking my first trip around 1974 or 1975 and I can honestly say that the way I acted at Disney then and now are pretty much the same, just a kid having the time of my life!!

I'll be 43 in July and first trip was when I was nine and I have still not grown up from that trip..

Late to the party, but I'm a Disney Dad too!!

The Calendar shows 37 but I don't always act that way! When I'm at WDW I feel more like 10! :woohoo:

46 young; will always be a kid at heart.

First visit was part of honeymoon trip; got addicted after staying onsite the 2nd visit; drank the DVC kool-aid to help family keep the tradition.

I'm 8--wait a minute thats what my wife says before Disney days. I'm really 16--no no no wait a minute thats what my wife says at other times--"You are like a teenage boy!!":rolleyes1 I'm really 39.:dance3:

WOW, It looks like we have even more things in comon as I read. I am also 41 going on 12. AND I REFUSE TO GROW UP no matter what my DW says. :lmao:

Also see a few of us LSU fans in here. :cheer2:

I'm 31, but with 2 girls (8 & 1), and another baby on the way I feel much older! When I'm at Disney it makes me feel younger! My first trip to WDW was when I was an infant, and the first time I remember I was 10. I wouldn't return for 21 years...

Last year was the year of Disney for us. Three cruises and one day at Magic Kingdom. I wish we had done it sooner!

I'm 34 with a 1 year old daughter and another one on the way due in September. Going back to Disney World in December 2008, we figured it should be okay travelling with a three month old.

I just remember my first time in Disney World (December 2007), turning the corning onto Main Street USA and seeing the castle, I just got reduced to a kid again. I really cant wait to get back there, both my wife and I miss it so much.

283 days to go...

I'm in, 37 going on 5 here. My daughter and I are leaving late tomorrow nite for her 3rd trip there, my 7th. I feel like a kid right now. I'm so excited.:rotfl: pirate:

I watched your two videos--GREAT!! I don't know which I was doing more of--Shaking my booty:woohoo: Or crying from the great memories of my families cruise. I wish I could put together a video like that for my family as a Christmas gift.

I still haven't figured out how to add the Disney dads club signature ????

For the one with my son, wife and myself, I went to http://userbarmaker.com/userbar-links.php5 and made 3 different ones. Then I saved them and went to http://ubanimator.com/ to animate them. The directions are on the page. The animator at userbarmaker doesn't seem to work for me, but it's great for creating your own. I had to make the ones of me and my family, but you can find quite a few disney related ones already made in the library, and just animate those. Hope that helps.

just wanted to say thanks . got them up last night

I turned 57 last month and will (I hope) never grow up! Truth be told, now that My kids are out and married, my wife and I can afford to go to WDW/DCL more than ever. Now my grand kids are only 10 miles from port Canaveral so they get to come stay with us, I get to spoil the daylights out of them (read coke and candy here) and then send them home and let your Mom put you to bed!!!!!
My first trip to WDW was 1979 and Icruised on "the big red boat" back when. then on to DCL and we do our own land and sea thing at least a week on the cruise then another at WDW. You can never get to much mouse:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :cool1:

I'm 33, parents took me about 4 times from 3-18, been back 6 times since then (all without children, except the last two times). Now that we have our DD3 and DD-6months (due in June) I think I will have plenty of excuses to feed my addiction for years to come.

I meet all of the criteria. Can I join this club as well?? :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It's great to see I'm not alone in being a dad who just wants more disney. Wish me luck this May. My son will be going on his senior class trip. While I, a single dad, will be taking 2 teenage girls, 13 & 14 to WDW. Alone with only 1 bathroom:scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

Have you thought about staying offsite at somewhere like Windsor Hills where you could get a 2 or 3 bedroom condo or townhome with multiple bathrooms for cheaper than staying onsite with 1 bathroom?

I certainly qualify!
We have two more visit planned for this year. A visit to AKV, SSR and POP Centruy in August. And our big trip in Oct, which will start with MNSSHP and then boarding the DCL Magic for an Eastern voyages. Can't wait.
I know I was a member when my mother in law told me I have a disney problem. I just hhmmed and and thought to myself, not a bad problem to have.

Sign me up

You guys are on page 20 and I'm just spotting this thread now :confused3

Oh well, better late than never! I want in. I meet most of the criteria, I do most of the planning for our Disney trips, and yes, my wife thinks I have serious Disney issues  . We will be back to the World this Oct for MNSSHP. This will be the first time for Haloween in Disney for us. Oct 27 - Nov 3rd staying at ASMU. I ..... ah, I mean WE can,t wait.

Cheers!

I agree with you, but I really enjoy staying onsite. We rented a vacation home last summer, we had 3 families staying together. It was a beautiful 7 bedroom, 5 1/2 baths, very close to the parks. We had a great time but I missed being in the middle of things so much that I went and paid for a campsite in FW (and even pitched a tent:rolleyes: ) just so we could take advantage of the EMH.:thumbsup2
