Hi all..popping in from the in-laws, we came to town for Thanksgiving Weekend. Hope all is well with everyone.

A little ray of hope today, during the drive, DW suggested a possible trip for next October, Amelia's school progress pending, and of course, if the budget will allow. She really doesn't want to face the August heat again, and we love the Food and Wine Festival/Halloween theme too much to resist. I may not have to wait two years after all!:woohoo:

I'm jealous. We would love to go in October but it's tough with a teacher in the family. Maybe after we win the lottery and put all this work stuff behind us. :rotfl2:

Let's try this with pictures.

Day 1 begins at CM

Found the 5 legged goat in CR mural during all my transportation.

After shopping at WDW, checked into room, unpacked, and went to Mass.

Dinner at 1900 Park Fare. The stepsisters put on a great show. My goddaughter and my dds had a great time.

Ended the day with the electrical water parade. From my balcony...

Day 2 starts with rain. It's gonna be a soggy day at DHS. popcorn::

Happy birthday Ryan :cool1:

We went to the children's museum here in Indy yesterday and while my wife and daughters were looking at the Barbie exhibit I noticed these lamps hanging from the ceiling. And at the right angle.....voila!

Can this be a man law? Really, maybe we could look at creating a non-profit status with the sole purpose of dues going to book the convention center. I don't think we can say that in the by-laws. But, then Barry will become president and make Jimmy Hoffa look like Cinderella.

I like CP and Boma really well. But, I would not make a trip from BLT to AKL for Boma breakfast. Also I like CRT and Akershus as my favorite breakfast, and not just for the hot girls. Really, my favorite breakfast is Tonga Toast and Captain Cook's. That juice is really good over there. What is that called?

We need to run this by our attorney....Aaron, what are your thoughts on this??

Very well done! :thumbsup2

You're staying with your in-laws until the end of November? You poor man...

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Well if they are going to offer roast turkey and prime rib every dinner......

But hey man, we Canadians never have a minute to spare, we gotta get our Thanksgiving in while we can.. My brother has the best of both worlds. He's hosting my side of the family tomorrow, and now that his wife's entry visa has been approved, (she's been living here in Canada for the past couple of years from her far-away native land of Illinios:lmao: ), she can go back to her own family for the American version!

Good morning...already had my donuts and coffee!

As much as I hate to pay that much for the plane tickets, it sure does make driving a lot easier when everyone in the car is potty trained.

Nah, I'll argue that point. If they're in a diaper, you don't have to stop a half mile after every rest stop so someone can use the bathroom.:rotfl2::lmao:

We had that problem on our first driving trip after both kids were potty trained. Make a stop in Richmond, one daughter has to go, the other does not. She even tries. Ten minutes later... another stop in Richmond.

The van is packed, including the kitchen sink, and we are ready to go as soon as dds get home from school.

I know a few of you will be there next week and my apologies for not trying to arrange a meet-up. Instead, we have been trying to coordinate this trip with our non-Disney friends, who are the parents of our godchildren. He is normally a good guy, and we drink beer and other stuff, but he just really is pushing my buttons. He's complaining to his children how much Disney costs and how big a waste of time it is. They are going to beach as well, so we are trying to coordinate meals, theme parks, etc. My dd and youngest goddaughter are same age and really good friends, which makes this even more difficult. Since this is his first trip ever, I hope the Disney magic will convert him, even if not for a return trip, but at least to let his children enjoy their time.

For the DisDads at WDW, please let me know if you have a meet up planned. I will try to join you if possible.

It sounds like the guy has already made up his mind. I think the best thing you can do is to lead by example. Have a fantastic time, if he ever brings up the cost of anything, point out how much fun you and the kids are having... eventually, the peer pressure of having fun might get to him. Good luck.

No debate. Coke easily beats Pepsi. Now, if you want to debate beers, I'm up for that. We could debate bourbon, but there is no debate. KY has all 4 seasons, which allows barrels to constrict and expand. Which KY Bourbon is the best may be a choice, but I'll take Maker's Mark.

I endorse the beverage choices in this post wholeheartedly.

I will try to upload some pictures while I am here. I've got to figure out how to upload pics from my phone to my netbook. Sorry, I do not have a webcam. A lot of people have been complaining about BLT - shoddy workmanship, no theming, rooms sizes too small, etc. But, I am really enjoying this. The room is smaller than OKW, but it works. The kitchen is its own area, with many space saving inventions. I found a strip of molding removed from the inside of the bathroom door mirror, but that is really about it. BLT does not have the restaurants, but it's a short walk over to the CR. As for the theming, I agree that AKL really works with the park so nearby, but I like the way CR and BLT look.

My biggest problem at BLT was the customer service. And the fact that the bathroom door tolerances were a little loose.

I spent yesterday at a couple of Fall Festivals down near my Mom's house. I was able to navigate a Corn Maze with my two blonde daughters successfully. I did get a little worried about this CYA sign:

And, of course, I got to see them throw pumpkins with a siege engine:

Those pumpkins went about a third of a mile or so downrange... with fair accuracy. :lmao:

Now she can legally and freely by Tim Horton's without fear of deportation...

:surfweb:

Just to solidify my Tim Horton's is Canada's identity argument, I just posted this on the CANADIAN forum of the DISboards.

Feel free to follow it, and see what the response are.

I am extremely confident someone will come by and mention Tim Horton's is missing.

I don't think we want to commit to a single locations. Stormalong Bay is cool, but I'd like to put in a vote for La Cave de Tequila too. :cool1:

POG juice.
Yummmmmmmmmmmmm.

:rotfl2: Didn't take long. Poor, brainwashed coffee drinkers.

And to see what Darcy is referring to... see the answer to my question on the above post.

tim hortons.

I second that one!!!:thumbsup2

Honestly, I still can't figure out why Tim's isn't in Florida at all. It's a natural, what with all the snowbirds.

TIMMIEs! Can you just see the lineups? They'd need to put in FP machines! :lmao:

Ta Da!!!!!

Question for all the bourbon drinkers out there...

I'm looking into getting a bottle of something for a very special someone (me), and would love some recommendations on what we have at the store.

Makers Mark
Makers Mark 46
Knob Creek
Knob Creek Reserve 8yr
Elijah Craig 10 yr
Jefferson Small Batch
Four Roses Small Batch
Bookers
Bakers Straight Kentucky
Basil Hayden Straight
Corner Creek
and soon we'll have some Eagle Rare 10yr (I hope)

Moneys tight enough that DW wil only let me grab one, although I recall winning a large bottle of rum somewhere that is still re-sellable that I could exchange and grab a second bottle...

Jim Beam's nephew works for the same company as me.

I have ABSOLUTELY no recommendations about Bourbon, just thought I'd share that. :lmao:

Well with the fire today at MK looks like Norm and our other Dads who are there have been treated to Flood and Fire this week. I guess Famine would be next on the list right?:rotfl2:

Used to be a bourbon drinker. I would suggest Bookers. Went to a tasting a few years ago and it was great. They had a limited edition single barrel that was unbelievable. Bought a bottle which is still not opened. Maybe on my deathbed. Also went to Makers Mark a couple of months ago and they poured a taste of the 46. Also good.

Wow! I drafted Chuck Norris to my fantasy Team, he now has 10 Lombardi Trophies, could have something to do with the fact he can hit a home run at a football game:lmao::lmao:
