We love the Earl. Plus it is one of the few places I can get Cherry Coke in the soda dispensers. If you can ever get there during the holiday season, you gotta try the holiday feast sandwich, turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce...mmmmm

Against the better judgement of Emma's Dad, I'm Dis Dad member #605!! I've been on the boards for a couple of years, didn't realize you guys were here until recently. It's great to have a 'support' form for us like minded Dis addicts.

Taking the family to AKL for the first time in 3 weeks!! Heavy into our final stretch of research for this trip, hey I have to know what snacks to hit and what to skip.

Welcome! As for snacks, other then Dole Whips, I am not sure what I'll use my credits on, although the dads around here have me sold on the jalepano stuffed pretzel at AK.

You've already covered the Granddaddy of the Snack Credit (the Dole Whip). If you're on the dining plan and have a bunch of snack credits left over, I recommend the Crisped Rice treats. (They're nothing like Rice Krispie Treats, honest. ) Anyway, they're about the size of your hand, about an inch thick, and covered in colored chocolate icing. The resort gift shop should have otherwise hit up Goofy's Candy Company in Downtown Disney. They travel very well (plane or car) and are soooo good.

hmmm, okay maybe sold on this too. Might also get a small pack of the Mickey-shaped chocolate covered coconut. They are some of the best I've ever had.

The VP of my department (my boss) called me into her office today. I've been there 6 yrs, but still, when you get called into the boss's office at 9 am on Friday, you get nervous.

On my team of 10, there is 1 Account Manager (the team leader, as it were), Senior Account Coordinator (If the AM manages the client, the SAC manages the team members), and 8 Account Coordinators.
For 6 years, I've been patiently waiting for "my turn", and while always letting the powers know i'm interested in more, I've never let it get me down when people newer than I were moving up faster.

But none of that matters right now. I'm the NEW Senior Account Coordinator.

It's announced, but the old S.A.C. will train me until she takes a different internal position on June 13.

This is what I'm saying. While we won't ever get to see Shaq and Wilt go head-to-head, the assumption that Shaq is stronger than Wilt was is not such an easy assumption. Shaq was certainly fatter. But Shaq also played at a time when he was essentially allowed to foul with impunity as long as he was on offense.

Shaq was also a poor defensive player. Chamberlain was always at least above average on defense, and made NBA All-Defensive team near the end of his career (when the style his team played called on him to play the kind of defense that got him all-defensive team recognition).

I was a big Shaq fan. He was one of the best of his era. But he's not even in the top 5 NBA centers of all time. I'd put Chamberlain, Russell, Jabbar, Olajuwon, and David Robinson all in front of him. And Walton is close. Shaq is only in front of Walton because Walton's career was cut short by injury.

David Robinson and the Dream over Shaq? They are not even in the same discussion.

No worries, I won't. Was on once already, now in line for TSMM while I wait for my FP return @ 10am. Was a 30 min wait for TSMM, but by now its probably up to 45, 60 or more. Everything published said the park opened @ 9, but they were letting people in without a rope drop feature @ 820 when I arrived. Pretty cool. The first one was awesome. Can't wait to see how it differs the next times...

are you going to be there on the 3rd? Maybe we could meet up!

Welcome, and from experience, I can say that you will absolutely LOVE the AKL. What are your dates?? We're there from June 18-25......

Do you have an iPhone or other smartphone? If so, I highly recommend the Mobile Disney World Dining Reservations site. The URL is long, so you'll want to save it as a bookmark (or, on the iPhone, make it a homepage icon after making it a bookmark). The address is http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/m/

You can use that from anywhere that you have a data connection, even in-park. It's great for last-minute reservations (really more like a day or so in advance - beyond that the restaurants seem to hold back canceled reservations for walk-ups, but it's always worth a try). People are constantly changing plans, so you never know what might open up. And it's MUCH faster than waiting around on the phone.
