To all those in tornado alley, my prayers for you health & safety go out to you. The videos of the devistation are unbelievable.

Tough day at our house. My DWs brother had a heart attack today and had to be rushed to emergency stent placement x 2. Fortunately, he's stabilized and recovering in the ICU. But he's only 43 & my DWs father died of a heart attack when he was 40, so this is bringing up all sorts of unpleasant memories for her

That's really tough, sorry to hear that. Good that he's recovering though. Sending good thoughts your way.

So.... I think I got a PIN in the mail.:confused3

It was a direct mail ad (addressed to the DW) that said value resorts for $60/night, Mods for $115, and Animal Kingdom Lodge for $189.

The reason I think it was a pin was the line on the direct mail that said, "your Pin is XXXXXXXXXXX"

But since I have never booked a room-only reservation, what does this translate to? 20%, 30%, 40% discounts, or... something different?

Sounds like a good deal.

Values go for about $109 - $149 per night, depending on season, so $60 is at least 50%.

Mods go for around $169 - $229 (rack rate).

Clearly it depends on the dates.

We're under a Tornado Watch right now - heavy stuff heading this way.

Good thing I have a basement with a full bar in it! :thumbsup2

Yeah - I mentioned this to Scott on Facebook earlier today, but here's an interesting tip I learned today. When a tornado warning is issued, do NOT assume you are safe just because you can't see a funnel cloud. Apparently, the funnel cloud only shows up if the tornadic winds are wrapped in rain clouds. We had several touchdowns of tornados today in my neck of the woods with no visible funnel. There were no rain clouds wrapped around them, so we had what amounted to invisible tornados.

Bottom line, take shelter and stay there until an all-clear is sounded. The "invisible" tornados do show up on weather radar, so they'll be taken into account before an all-clear is sounded.

I know what you're talking about Aaron...going home today with no rain in sight...we had some major cyclonic action in the clouds. Lots of straight line winds. I felt like my car was being lifted off of the road. Halfway home there was a commercial size dumpster that had been blown 100 yards onto the road!

Got home and got everyone in the basement. We had some tornado warnings for our county...but no reports of any touchdowns as of yet. Also some golf ball sized hail in our county as well...thankfully none at our house.

Everyone from Kansas to Pennsylvania.....be careful and take heed of all warnings.

I am glad to hear that Eileen's brother is resting well after his stents. Thank goodness they were able to fix things with just a stent!!

Stay safe everyone...looks like those of you having storms now are sending them our way..hopefully they die down a bit before they get here!!! Been a wild spring...stay safe everyone!!!

Hope all you guys stay safe & pull through the storms and tornatos:goodvibes

I heard so far this year there has been over 1000, the avg is around 1200, how long does tornato season last:confused3

Trying to post with my phone so we'll see how it works. Managed to drop and smash the screen on my laptop tonight. Tore up my mower last night and laptop tonight, looking like an expensive week.

Nasty weather tonight. So far no hail or tornadoes here but I saw a wall cloud go north of us earlier while clouds above were swirling. When that passed and the cold wind rushed in it felt very eerie. Time to batton down the hatches and prepare for round 3. Stay safe stopher and duck.

I let my son pick our arrivial park & 1st ride for our August trip:goodvibes I was alittle surpised since the last 2 trips was Test Track in Epcot:confused3

This years park & 1st ride is AK with Dinosaur as the 1st ride:cool1:

Anyone have any suggestions for on the roof luggage carriers? We have a Nissan Quest.

We bought ours from Wal Mart. Soft cover, and we put our bags in trash bags just in case it rains. Inexpensive, and does the job for us. When we arrive at where ever we are going, we unload, take the carrier off, and fold it up.

Blame it on the weather and maybe the insurance will take care of it :rolleyes1

Tired tonight. Administered an End of Grade test to a group of 4th graders today. I've done this for the past several years at different grade levels and it still just mentally wears me out. I can only imagine what it does to the kids. Ya'll have a safe night. I'm hitting the sack.
