Just read that the Macho Man died... For a fan of 80's wrestling this is a sad day indeed...

Hide the rum.

I had lived in my house for about 3 years, and decided to add some insulation under the back room addition.
ANYWAY, climbed under, and started laying insulation in the joists, and up under the joist was a little shelf that had a can of bud light (based on the lable, from 1993), and a nearly empty bottle of Wild Turkey. So, SOMEONE that had lived in my house had to hide their booze. I don't know if it was a teenager or the previous "Man of the House." (I threw both out, since I didn't know the age of either)

Really? That IS sad (if true.)

Helping my son build a ghillie suit for the weekend after next. We're doing a Young Marines encampment and they're planning a huge game of capture the flag.

Details:
  • The "flag" will be posted at night
  • There will be guards present all day and night in shifts
  • 3 teams will be vying for control of the flag
  • You will not know who is on your team, only that you belong to one of the 3 teams (Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie)
  • The game will not stop after lights out. If you can get out of your tent (and there may be other Young Marines in your tent who are not on your team) assemble your whole team, then capture and hide the flag without being caught, then you're fine. If you are caught the flag gets returned and you many not attempt again until morning.
  • You must do a good job hiding the flag but you may not disrespect it. The flag is our unit guidon.
  • If someone else finds the flag, they can, as a team, move it elsewhere and rehide it.
Stealth is key so my son and his squad are all making ghillie suits. We found a camoflage jumpsuit at the thrift store last night and bought dark green and black rit dye. I got a 96"x96" burlap mat at the agricultural supply store for $8 about 2 hours ago and we're now searching for a cheap volleyball net.

This should be fun. One kid bought one for $100 (rich parents) but as we have resources available to us from people who have built and used some in the field we're looking forward to doing this on our own. Tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday we're ripping that burlap mat apart, then dying it. The long part will be tying the material onto the netting when we're done.

There will be pictures of this process to come.

In other news, does anyone have a set of night-vision goggles I can use? I don't have a grand to get some.

They really need to eliminate the penny anyway! Prices could easily be adjusted.

When I was in Germany, the US military base we were stationed at did not use pennies. They just rounded to the nearest nickle. Seemed to work just fine. They also used $2 bills.

Someone sent this to me from Facebook.

A good way to mess with people on the supposed "Judgement Day" tomorrow;

Leave shoes with dry ice in them around town;

That is an awesome idea! I would like to see video footage of people's reaction to seeing that. :scared1:

I was looking at right before this. Hopefully, we can get the 4:45 showing today. It had a bad review in the paper, but I really don't care much for their reviews.

Check out the Movie Review Query Engine. It is a great place to get metadata of reviews for all the movies at the theater.

We should all snap into a Slim Jim in Macho Man's honor.

BigTex, sorry about the Mavs. Tough loss. Still think they have the series though. They're much deeper than OKC. I think Dirk can smell it this year...

I hope they can get a rematch with the Heat. We have been thirsting for that since the 2006 Finals. But it looks like we may have our hands full with the Thunder.

Another place to store your liquor is in the back of the toilet. It keeps the alcohol cold (if you want to drink it chilled).

The Mint/Treasury don't love those either, but they don't really have an impact on the money supply. There aren't really THAT many of them, and the coins that run through those presses aren't directly exchanged for more currency. The problem with melting down copper and zinc is that the copper and zinc get sold for more than the face value of the coins. If enough people do it, it starts to have a measurable effect on the money supply and introduces inflationary pressure, while at the same time costing the Treasury to strike more coins.

Yes, we would hate for US economy to show signs of inflation.

On the way home from WDW. Stopped for lunch at the McDonald's at Exit 36, Brunswick, GA. Know if it's any good, Fed?

36?? Hwy 341......McDonalds is East toward Brunswick across the street from Pizza Hut:lmao::lmao:

Yeah, it's OK...the one at 29 is Ok too..:lmao::lmao:

Depending on what time you came through Jacksonville, I may have passed you at 900 mph....loong day today.

A rematch would be fun to watch, though I'd rather see Chicago come out of the east. D Rose is fun to watch.

I think the Mavs will key on Durant and force someone else to beat them, and I don't see that happening 3 more times... Will be fun to watch though.

we saw some hard hit areas on our way back. One town off of 75 looked like a tornado tore the whole place up. It was between Valdosta and Macon if I remember correctly

I just found out they're bringing back one of my favorite Mountain Dew Flavors, Pitch Black!!! :drinking1

Greeings from Key Largo. Have a little down time so I am just checking in and catching up with a few posts. The weather is warm, the drinks are cold and the women are in Bikinis (not always a good thing). Andriana is diving with a friend tomorrow and I may post some pics here when we get back.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Out of curiosity, do you guys' wives not get it?? My wife simply does not get the allure:confused3:rotfl2:

Oh my DW doesn't come close to getting it. She's a city girl (born and raised in Chicago) and her idea of camping is a Holiday Inn Express. :rotfl2:

Enjoy the weather down there. I'm envious.

Anyone going to see the new Pirates movie tonight? I'd love to, but I have a poorly timed Scout movie night tonight.

Tomorrow, spending the day at Baloo and OLWSL Training for scouts, may have to let the DW take the kids without me :sad2:

Not going tonight... but looking for a full report right here, from anyone who does go.

We're out of rum?!??!?!?!

Please tell me there's some scotch left...

Please Please Please say there's still Scotch....

Whaaaaaa? I didn't hear this at all.

RIP Randy Poffo

Memories of the Iron Sheik's rant on Macho Man.... and the Lovely Elizabeth ring through my head (on Stern and Scott Ferrall).

That is just awesome!! I would love to have a way to just drop them in front of people without being noticed!!!:rotfl2:

I've heard you should take $2 bills to Gentleman's clubs because they look like $20's in the dark.:cool2:

Not that I'VE ever done that.... :rolleyes1

Yes, yes we should. And, I vividly remember Macho Man on one knee with a ring proposing to Miss Elizabeth. I never knew if that was real, or part of the show, but I thought it was cool regardless...
