So I'm back to work after a three day weekend (Monday was Memorial Day in Korea). I didn't bring my computer, since Tuesdays are my busy class days (6 classes, with only 5 minute breaks between each one). I spent about 5-10 minutes before I came to work deciding if I wanted to bring a book to read on the buses and trains (roughly a 1 1/2 hour commute one way). I decide against it, and am on my way.

Once I get to work, one of my co-workers tells me that today's schedule changed Friday night after I left (I have to leave as soon as classes finish, or else I might not get a train back to my home, resulting in about a $30 taxi ride versus the $2 train and bus ride). Turns out all students are testing today. I'm the only teacher who has nothing to do. And I didn't bring my computer or a book to read. I'm already prepared for Thursday and Friday's classes, since I was supposed to have the same levels today. So I have absolutely nothing to do. Not even a notebook to write in! One of my co-teachers was generous enough to let me use her macbook, but she only has one class, so I have to be off of it in 20 minutes. That means from 5:45-10:00pm, I guess I'll be twiddling my thumbs. Beverly....

We have testing again tomorrow, but I'll be ready this time...

/Rant

Thank you. On the plus side...only two more weeks of the long commute. Then we move closer to my school. It'll only be a twenty minute bus ride after that.

Juuuuuust Super...everyone came home safe and sound, but during bath time, we found the dreaded "L" word...lice in the kids head again....took us almost a month to get rid of it last time. Had to cancel my Brewery Tour/Tasting Seminar from work to SteamWhistle, but I'll live, but not looking forward to the extra work involved here. Kinda worked hard this weekend as it were with housework, now more chores involved. Feeling a wee bit low right now, think I'll tune in to the feed and watch the EWP.......

Bummer. I guess about the only positive way to look at it is that at least you have kids to bring lice home. Hope your spirits have picked back up a bit.

:lmao: i wish!!! we dont seat people, we just take tickets and hand out programs. when the aud. starts getting full we point out seats to people and try to keep the handi cap areas clear of people who dont belong in them. during the show, we have to keep the exits clear and aisles open. people will sit, stand, perch, shove a stroller in front of a door that says fire exit.:scared1: people are nuts!! we had a lady stand up!!! she just stood up in the middle of the aud. she states she has a problem with her back. well, you cant stand here the 400 people behind you cant see.:confused3 than we have the lady who stands in the aisle. :lmao: we only open the aud. doors evey four numbers to keep the shows moving. shows go about 41/2 hours and thats no solos (except srs.) or duets, this is just teams. its a big studio. theres about 150 on comp. teams and another 250 students. whats funny is she goes over the rules with the parent the last 4 weeks of class. for you to get your tickets, you have to initial that you read the rules. its been not to bad the last few years but like i said, you get some people who think they can do what ever they want.

4 and a half hours? Wow that usher job sounds like a really smart call.

Long day at work. Been up to my elbows in a case, trying to make sure that a miner gets back pay after being fired by an operator for refusing to work on a piece of heavy equipment he hadn't been trained to run. Love it when I find "smoking gun" documents. The operator is trying to claim that they didn't fire the employee, that he resigned. But I found a Financial Aid filing, with a section completed by the operator's HR Director AFTER the employee allegedly resigned, that clearly states that the employee was terminated for insubordination.

I would hope that these jerks insist on taking the case to trial, so I could expose them for what they are in front of the judge. But I'd rather get the miner his back pay as soon as possible (rather than having to wait for a trial).
Wow that's a good find. That miner is probably super happy that you are on the case for him. Its got to be super rewarding to have a slam dunk moment like that.

No wishes tonight!! Cannot find a speaker that works close to a wifi signal without people standing in front of the camera!! Peanut butter beverly beverly peanut!! And dw is uuuhm angry with my obsession..

Thanks for sharing as much as you have. I think we've all really enjoyed getting to live vicarously through you. I hope we don't get you in to much trouble.

I thought the guy had good form, kept the baby in close to the body so it didn't get stripped running downfield, and, of course, didn't try to run the option...

I dunno DEA...I think one good hit by James Harrison and that baby would be loose...

Is this a symptom that we are all ready for football to start? Don't care if the pros play or not because I am mostly a College fan. No pros just means more college games.

Snagged a room for $99 at the Hilton Buena Vista for Saturday night so I guess we leave for Orlando late am a day early.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Dreading that day, but it will probably come. There is usually someone out with it in one of the kids classes. DS won't be a problem. Just get the straight razor out and he can look like Kojak. DD is another story. :headache:

Awesome, I won't have to go on Primevial Whril this year since it is closed on refurb till Sept 14:woohoo: I know once my son can go on it we will have to do it a few times:eek: I can't stand that ride:lmao:

I never have to. That is what DW is for. :rotfl2:

Big win by the Bruins tonight to make this thing a series... Real chippy, rough game. Fun to watch, with the exception of a brutal hit on Horton that probably knocked him out for the remainder of the series...

I think he'll be back tomorrow night... :confused3

Just sayin'... :surfweb:

But I have to admit... you guys dominated the game last night.

I am truly glad you guys are enjoying the feed!
I didn't see any brain eating amoebas! Just life aging little 6 year olds! Lol

Tonight I will try to find a good spot with speaker for EWP and wishes stay tuned.. Just to let you guys know the Internet in the rooms so terrible that a live feed day and night is frustrating and too difficult to maintain.

Hey Carl... I found the SAME problem on my laptop when we were there this year. I was basically getting dial up speeds from the room! I ended up doing the following to get fast speeds again from the wired connection:

1. Turn of the wireless device (one little button on my laptop)
2. Changed my network card speed from Auto to 10 Mb Full.
3. Reacquire IP address from the network (Should happen automatically)

Sorry.... I don't remember reading about what hardware you are using to stream... I just assumed you are using a laptop and webcam.:thumbsup2

On my side of the house, this is called a "smoking gun":lmao:

That was the way my son was most comfortable when he was that age.:rotfl:

You do what you have to if you want them to go to sleep.

Completely agree with that. Our son would only sleep when he was vibrating for a portion of his infancy. One night I put him in his car seat and set it on top of a running dryer till he fell asleep. After he was asleep I put the him in his crib, in his car seat. DW was none too pleased at me for that.

::yes::

We did the car seat thing too. Actually, that was after complaining to the doctor that the baby hadn't been sleeping for weeks, and he thought it might be acid reflux and suggested letting him sleep in his car seat. Worked like a charm. So if you ever catch heat for this, tell DW it's doctor-approved. :thumbsup2

Very nice. Some days you're the statue, but some days you get to be the seagull. :woohoo:

looks like dd is going to be teaching 2 tap classes in the fall. ill never get away from it.:lmao:

More recitals! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

when do you think im gonna pick on them, when they sqeek on out????:lmao:all i herd all late winter on tv is how great this team is. talk about :confused3.i realized what im watching, the bad news bears in breaking training!!:lmao: you got the old gm. you got the little smart a*& in the out field and you got two in fielders banging into each other on a in field fly as the ball hits the ground.:lmao: little league 101, I GOT IT!!:lmao:

But if you have the best record in MLB, the style points really don't matter.

Agreed. Carl, the most important thing is that you have a great time with your family. Any broadcasts we get to watch are just the frosting on the Dole Whip. The live stream has been awesome, no doubt. You've already given us plenty.

I just hope to be able to catch your broadcast of the Water Parade or Wishes one evening. I had been really looking forward to it since you said you were doing the live feeds, but haven't been home to catch it yet. Thanks for setting this up for us though.

Carl, I have enjoyed being able to tune in from time to time this week but dont upset your better half...Id hate to read about her going on Lorena Bobbit on you at WDW:rotfl:
Yeah, what he said.

So I'm back to work after a three day weekend (Monday was Memorial Day in Korea).
I guess that means you finally got a job then. Congratulations!

'Morning all....
Thanks for you all for the uplifting thoughts, it helped the morale. I got all my delousing cleaning done (beds/toys/etc), DW did the kids and herself (Alas, no hair, I'm clean again). We went right to the treatment that worked out last time, the TeaTree shampoo. Kept the kids home today as a precaution, DW called in too. We'll get through it, we have once already back in January/February. I hated to lose the chance to do the seminar, there are no make-up dates. Boss and I scrambled to ensure they'd know I would not be there, and they wanted me to find a replacement, but at 9pm, I don't think it'll happen, but really, there is nothing that'll happen that will be any big loss, aside from sampling beer (and ciders, according to the agenda). Last time was emotionally draining on everyone, in particular, DD1's hair was cut way shorter from almost to her rear to her shoulders, which devestated DW. Well, we will survive anyways.....

I thought the guy had good form, kept the baby in close to the body so it didn't get stripped running downfield, and, of course, didn't try to run the option...

I thought he was going to do a big underhand toss..."here, catch!"..I've seen infants held that way, and I tried it on DD2, but was not comfortable with it.

I was going to ride it too, as part of my Trip Checklist "Do three attractions I have not done before". I was going to be the only one, DW hates spinning, and the girls are too small. I had planned to try it last year, but the wait time jumped up by 10 minutes when we finished at a M&G, so we opted to go back to the resort to the pool (really hot that day) My goal can still be reached easily though; Maelstrom, Journey Into Imagination, and a ride to be named later (maybe RnR or Mission Space) If this is the biggest attraction closed when we are there (other then Mermaid show at HS), then I'll be laughing...

No wishes tonight!! Cannot find a speaker that works close to a wifi signal without people standing in front of the camera!! Peanut butter beverly beverly peanut!! And dw is uuuhm angry with my obsession..

Don't let it take over the vacation. I loved seeing the EWP, but look after your family first. Great job.

My DD is 4 and did a tap/ballet class this year. Last night was her recital. The admission was free, but we did have to pay for parking because it was at the Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth. Pretty cool that they have such a big venue to perform at.

They allow no flash photography, which I totally understand. But, they also say no videotaping. I didn't have any problems with that until I saw the price they charge for a video of the event. $45!

{rant}I have a BIG problem with that. That Beverly should be illegal. I could see $25 or maybe even $30 (closer to a regular market price, but still higher than market), but $45 seems to be a monopoly market and they are price gouging. How can they get away with this? It is ridonkulous.
{/rant}

DD looked so cute. I got several (non-flash) photos. I am thinking we don't need a video. If she does this again, I may video tape it just for spite.

Morning all. Nice day up here, weather starting to really heat up though. Going to get to 95 this week. We usually get there in August, but June's a bit early...

I think he'll be back tomorrow night... :confused3

Horton will be lucky to come back next year, never mind this series. Did you see the hit?

Here are some pictures of the Tri-State DisDad meet at the Philly Zoo on Sunday June 5th. The Dads present were Ron (Disney Commando) and myself.

There is Ron and I in front of the Zoo Balloon. It's like the one in Downtown Disney.

Ron is a member of the Zoo and he was kind enough to let us into the members only tree house play area. Here are Ron and I with a new friend we made.

We had a great time, and are planning to do it again in Sept - Oct. Hopefully we will get more Dads to join in.

tickets are $14.00 each. each family is required to buy 12 of them. our video is $40 but there is 4 hour plus of dance on it. they allow video recording at dress reher. which is just like the recital. same lighting, back drop everything. they dont allow it at the recital for a few reasons. one, while your holding your camcorder up to video your little girl, the lady behind you cant see hers.the main reason is we dont know who you are, were you came from, if you really have a kid in the recital and what you are video taping and for what reason. so its easier just having to video tapping at all. if you would pull out a camcorder at ours, during your taping, the only thing your gonna get is three ushers telling you your not allowed to video and in most cases one will stand in front of the camera. we havnt had anyone try it in about 3 years now. evey parents signs a contract with the studio at the begining of each season with the rules and cost. there are no suprises with how much anything cost before you start. we had a guy try to video tape hes dd and was asked nicely to put it away and it turned into him yelling at the owners husband oin front of 1200 people. they guy said, were not coming back here next year!! the owner said great, we dont want you back, thats fine.:lmao: she had a comp. mom grumble about the cost of the make up kit. signed the contract, knew the cost up front, she tells you if for any reason you cant do this, please go to another studio. we had a comp. girl on dd tap team decide the second comp was to far away and didnt how up. she no longer tapped on that team. it wasnt fair to the other 6 girls that showed up.

the national league is mlb?????:lmao: they played more games than others!!! are you running for office????:lmao: if you want to watch mlb i guess your have to turn on WWOR. thank god chase is back, they can use his .224 batting average to help out howards .248. wait, wait, i think polanco is hitting .300.:lmao: at least you can be proud of the iron pigs.:thumbsup2 i dont know, looks like the happy days of "the year of the fluke" are over. maybe another 20 years or so.:lmao: at least there playing stiff comp. :lmao: you have to remember, if any of those clowns were worth anything, mr. stienbrenner would have bought them by now.

Mornin' Gents -

Today's plans went to Beverly quickly this morning as rain moved through, so I'm in the office attempting to do things, which is only half working out.

So - Question for all your DDCer's. I was listening to an older episode of WDW today podcast, and they were answering a question concerning parking at AK for morning ADRs. They said that the parking lot usually doesn't open up until well after 8:30AM for the 9:00AM RD, which would be all well and good except we have an 8:15 ADR at Tusker House. So now I'm worried about getting to the ADR on time. We're staying at CSR and driving down from PA, so we'll have our car. Part of the reason I'm driving to WDW is so I have my car and don't have to rely on WDW transport to make it to our ADRs.

Questions -
1) Has anyone experienced a similar circumstance?
2) If it is an issue, what would you do? The podcast referenced people being directed to AKL and told to take the bus to AK. Would you take the bus from CSR instead? If so, I'm assuming we should be at the stop at 7:15 at the latest.

Any other advice on this matter would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Indy

Seeing that there was no admission fee the margin in the DVD is probably used to help cover the cost of the venue (building fees, sound, lighting, security, etc). Our recital is a huge undertaking for DW and there is a lot that goes into pulling one off. Recital fee's, admission, costume fee's, etc help to cover the costs of putting on a big event and let's be honest, it is a business. I don't think anybody is in this business to get rich. If it's possible we are doing something wrong :lmao::rotfl2:

If you need the car later to get somewhere faster I would take the opportunity to park at AKL. While parked there AFTER breakfast go check this monsterous resort out. You'll be hooked.
If you arent in need of the car take the bus. That is pretty early for the bus for the kids but they can do it. We have been up and out the door with our 3 by 630 before.
