Perhaps I did alter the image ever so slightly - but I did speak truth in the same post.... 27 far outshines 2. Enough said.

(biting tongue)

:thumbsup2 Thank you kind sir.

See? I was nice to you.

Mark, you could also just start going to a regional amusement park too. They have rides, and overpriced food and drink too - but you choose to go for QUALITY, a QUALITY NAME, and a SUPERIOR EXPERIENCE... that's why you go to DISNEY Parks and Resorts - such as the Wilderness Lodge... the same holds true with the YANKEES.

But Disney represents all that is good in the world, and the Yankees represent evil incarnate. Wait, actually that's the Dallas Cowboys, but the Yankees aren't too far off.

That is a great sign. GO YANKEES!!

Again with the obnoxious bold print. All right, I didn't want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice: (no, it's not the smolder) Aren't you from California?

But Disney represents all that is good in the world, and the Yankees represent evil incarnate. Wait, actually that's the Dallas Cowboys, but the Yankees aren't too far off.

You are mistaking the Yankees for the Red Sox and the Patriots who represent all that is evil  and wrong with the world. Two words: spygate and ketchup!

Really? Any team can get lucky once or twice? Can we have once? Seriously, 105 years!!! C'mon.

Or stated another way:
"Anyone can get be bad once or twice... but it takes a real team to be the pitiful force in the league to lose time and time and time and time and time and time and time again...... and again... and again... etc."

Heck even the Pirates have won a championship since we did.

I felt that way being a Philadelphia sports fan for the longest time. We went 25 years without a champion in any sport. I can't tell you how many times our hearts were broken (especially by the Eagles). But we stuck with our teams, and eventually the Phillies finally broke through. It was awesome.

So, am I telling you to hang in there, better days are ahead? Of course not. These are the Cubs, who are cursed forever. Instead, I'd go with the Bulls or the Blackhawks. Much better track record.

Actually that would be WORK :lmao:

Why yes, yes I am... but that doesn't mean I can't look beyond my borders and enjoy a team from another location.... wait... didn't you say something earlier, perhaps a page or two back supporting a Philadelphia team while you are from Delaware? :confused3 Same kind of thing, right? Of course right.

And California has produced some winners in the past as well, you know... but still not as many as New York.

It takes a lot of this just to go to ANY of these pro-games - whether it's baseball , football, basketball, hockey or whatever. And those antics the MANY, VARIOUS teams pull is sad because it just continues to drive the costs up making it difficult for families to enjoy live games too often. It's very sad. I don't get to many games because of it... but then of course, living in a metropolitan area without any pro-baseball team is a bit prohibitive as well. We do have the minor league Indians here in Indy, which are fun to watch (and much cheaper by the way), but even still I don't get to enough games. Baseball is the only sport I really love. I enjoy basketball (live vs on tv), and hockey too, but football just isn't my thing. Never has been.

Growing up in So Cal, I enjoyed Dodgers season tickets that my dad had year after year. I still love the Dodgers, they are my favorite team in the NL... and of course, they originated in... Brooklyn. :thumbsup2 But those were the days back then... Garvey, Scioscia, Lopes, Baker, Mota, Yeager, Valenzuela... so many great guys. And of course, Lasorda! I really need to get back to Chavez ravine sometime soon....

Truthfully, I don't think Reds games are cost prohibitive. You can get a seat down near the action for $30-35 or a seat in the upper level for $14 I think. I've sat in about every section imaginiable there and aside from the leftfield seats, there isn't a bad seat in the house. I can get a few people together and drive down there, park for $10, buy upper deck tickets behind home for $14 or the moondeck in CF/RF for $20, eat fast food on the way and it really isn't expensive. Now if you were taking your whole family, buying tickets for everyone, getting a souvenir or 2, buying food in the park, etc... :faint:

It really just depends if you are just going to see the game, or if you want to enjoy all the experiences offerred. My biggest problem is that I have a hard time going to a Reds game and passing up the Skyline Chili Dogs and La Rosa's Pizza.

I do like Victory Field though... we went last year I think on a Monday... $1 Hot Dogs/Popcorn/etc :thumbsup2

:worship::worship: You win with that one! :rotfl2::rotfl:

Nope, gotta go with the local team...seeing as how Delaware has no pro teams, we go with the closest region. :thumbsup2 So I also have a soft spot for the Orioles, even though the owner has ruined the team there.

This was my worst incident on a golf course. I was in the passenger seat when we lost it and made the downhill death slide.
Back in college in La Crosse, we would make sure we got the first tee time a a local course with lots of hills. The grass was always soaked with dew, so we would get the carts up to speed, spin the sideways as we were going down the hills. If you did it right, you would get 2 or 3 full revolutions before you got to the bottom of the hill. It was like out own little tea cup ride - but with slightly higher chance of death.

Looking thru the Febuary issue of our company news paper "Siemens World"...found this article and scanned it...though y'all might like it.
Cool! Nice job Siemens!

Why is Mickey about to hit that poor defenseless bird???????
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

It's not the Cowboys, it's the Steelers.
easy does it now LOL:lmao:
Yeah, let's lay off the Steelers for a little while. They're still trying to recover from that beat down in SB XLV. :thumbsup2

That's why I've got my Green Bay Packers to rely on. :thumbsup2

Taking the family... yeah, that's what I was talking about. Reds games aren't that bad, you're right. Indians games are so much better... we love going and sitting on the lawn. Waaaaaay cheaper.

A couple of years back we had a team meeting in my office, and I took the crew down to the Indians game one night. It was awesome - and the 5 of us spent a lot less than when I took the 5 of us an Angels game that same summer while visiting family out in the O.C.

Oh La Rosa's.... man, Andy, why'd you have to go and say that... now I want some. You can keep the Skyline though. :lmao:

Carl, aren't you suppose to be setting up a Dads meet at the Philly Zoo on June 4th? :lmao:

I am trying to hold out one more week so I can get my baseball schedule for the kids (plus a manage a team and am on the board of directors,so I am trying to work around baseball for me).As soon as I get this I will post some dates to see what works for everyone else. Plus waiting one more week may give other Dadstime to get their schedules for their kids that play sports.I already know you want to go on the 4th for your birthday!!

Splash Mountaineers are starting off the season right.
So far, 4 plate appearances by 3 players, 3 hits, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 Runs Scored. :thumbsup2

Victory field is good, cheap entertainment and the baseball is always good.:thumbsup2
