Touche!

Yeah he did - I just wanted to bad mouth the Yankees!:thumbsup2

It's OK. I'm used to it. But, to defend myself and my love of the Yankees, my grandparents were fans since the '30s and had season tickets all through the late 50s and into the 60s until Mantle retired and the family moved to New Jersey. I was born in 1969 and grew up in a house that basically worshipped the Yankees. I have been to Opening Day in the freezing rain and snow more times than I care to remember. It used to be, in the '80s, Bleacher seats were $4.50 and beers were $4.75. So for 20 bucks, a college kid and his friends could see a game and get pretty well lubricated, especially a day game. This was when Stump Merrill wsa the manager and the Yanks were trotting out Wade Taylor, Jeff Johnson, Scott Kaminiecki, etc. to pitch. The only bright spots were Donnie Baseball and an occasional young player who eventually flopped (Kevin Maas, Dan Pasqua, Sam Militello). So, from when I was 9 (1978) until I was 27 (2006), the Yankees did not win a CHampionship but the Mets did (1986).

Silly Jason... red is not the right color at all.

Here's a picture from my office. Note the hardhat and the most AWESOME cup next to it. Red pinstripes... not at all.

True.

I have the same awesome pinstripes as well as a Darth Tater in my home office.

I'd go on about the Yankees buying championships and outspending everyone else, but...well, I guess the Phils are doing that now, too. :rotfl:

It could be worse. You could be the Cubs and spend, spend, spend and still not win anything.

No need to defend yourself. I will never question allegiance to a team. I feel the same way though. My kids have witnessed more division championships in their lives than I did up to I had kids. The Phillies in 80 when I was a year old and not again until 08. So i suffered though the bad years and stuck by them. My highlight was when I had the chance to intern in their web department during college. I got a great graduation gift from my boss, an autogrpahed Mike Schmidt ball.

You could have just ended that statement with "You could be the Cubs"
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Really? I don't think that's the case. I haven't heard anyone say anything negative about the Red Sox... popcorn::
I've got plenty of Red Sox ammo. One of my best friends from college has been a life long Red Sox fan since 2004. :lmao:

It's funny, a fraternity brother of mine (I never met him - he graduated 10 years after I did) is a very famous Phillies fan. He caught a foul ball and gave it to his 3 year old daughter who promptly threw it back on the field. It was a HUGELY famous video.

The Red Sox are the true evil empire :thumbsup2

My daughters are life-long fans, but they were born in 2004 and 2007. I hope you won't hold that against them :lmao:

Which, by the way, means the Yankees should be okay this year. The Sox only seem to win in the years when my children come into the world.

A little baseball history, before they were the Yankees, they were the Highlanders. Before they were the Highlanders they were the ...
Baltimore Orioles!

And 2 days to Disneyland!:cheer2:

That is a great video. I think that the Phillies are using part of that for their promos now.

I'd be up for an Iron Pigs or Reading Phillies game. I haven't been up to see the Iron Pigs yet. The Reading Phillies just did a 10 million dollar renovation to the stadium. I hope it included bullet proof glass.

That's more of a hike for me, but I can always let you know if I'm in the area. In the meantime, there's nothing wrong with you guys meeting up!

It's sad - the Cubs don't even open until tomorrow, and I'm already in the "next year is our year" mode. :sad2:

I hear Carlos Silva is available.
