Hey guys - just wanted to share a bit of happy news. I got off the phone with my uncle a few moments ago, and since it's been a little bit since I mentioned it, thought I would now while I'm waiting for the call to go pick my son up from his Scout activity this morning - one of those "we'll call when we're done" kind of things.

My grandmother has taken several positive steps in the recovery direction! My aunt & uncle have moved her in to a Board & Care facility, where she's in a much smaller patient to staff ratio... they told me it's 1 to 2... way down from the Assisted Living place, and the rehab center she was most recently at.

My uncle showed up yesterday and she recognized him and was able to speak fairly lucidly. Her hair had been done, along with her nails, and she told him she felt beautiful. :)

She still has a ways to go, but she is feeling better. Her cracked rib still needs to be dealt with properly, but she has a new wheelchair and apparently said she likes her new room. So we rejoice in those things.

Have a great Saturday all!

That's GREAT news Stopher:cool1: I hope for a speedy recovery:goodvibes

Wow, just got caught up on a whole day of posts! You guys have been busy!

Don, you can mark me down for a t-shirt....XL would work...and white is fine by me. Let me know and I can paypal the funds to you.

Hey guys.

Just got back from Spring Break and I noticed I was on page 141, you all are on page 198...

CRUD....

There now I'm all caught up.

Its late, I'm tired, but I'll fill in tomorrow at some point.

Hope all are well.

From all the pictures that I have seen it looks nice...What do you know about the slide at the pool...are my kids too young for it?? We are looking to try to transfer our Hilton time share points into DVC through RCI at SSR...a lot of letters huh:rotfl2: What can you tell me pro and con with this resort. On the RCI reservation site I can trade into SSR OKW or Boardwalk Villas...what is best??
Stayed at both OKW and BWV. Stopped by but did not stay at Saratoga. By far my favorite is the Boardwalk. Plusses and minuses. Boardwalk you can walk to MGM and Epcot. OKW and SS are off the beaten path and both are quieter. OKW has the largest rooms. I like the BW pool more. Not sure about your youngest going down the slide. I imagine it is the same with the other slides. Mine may have first tried it around your daughter’s age. Living down here she was in the water almost since birth and a good swimmer. Only you can judge.

Boardwalk also has nighttime entertainment that you and the kids will enjoy. The ESPN club and Big River Grill are there. They also have an adults only dueling piano bar. The Boardwalk has very limited places to get a quick bite to eat. You may be better off walking to Y/B or S/D.

PM me if you have any questions.

And, if UConn loses, can someone please check on Tim? I'd normally do it, but I'm out of state today... Tell him that UConn sucks for me!
Hey Tim,

DidDadDoc says UConn Sucks :lmao:
Chris.... this is for you and for your Hoyas....

I don't think they are necessarily mutually exclusive. There are few true pure-geeks or true-geeks. I like to think of it as a continuum, with freaks on one end & geeks on the other (a freak-geek spectrum if you will). So you could set up a likert scale of 1 to 10, with pure geek as 1 & pure freak as 10. Then you could assign a freak-geek spectrum score to each of us. Personally I'd be a Disney Freak-Geek of about 3.4

But I'm also a huge nerd...

Wow! Impressive run up to number 400. Congratulations on the milestone. About your question... I have no idea:confused3

Neither... I would say we are as our founder's user name suggests... fantatics

–noun 1. a person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal, as in a love for all things Disney (that last part I added)
::MinnieMopluto::tinker::ccat::donald::dumbo::tigger::tink::hmghost::smickey:

I'll go with Disney Dreamer.

Congrats on 400. We are Freaks of nature! Disney is the D in DNA :thumbsup2

:lmao: congrats randall!!1:thumbsup2

Thank you all, and for the record, I'm a Freak, I was Born for Disney! :wizard:

Hey guy I'm back again. It has been a long week. I left for Bristol, Tn. last friday and went to the Nationwide Race and the Cup Race. Had a great time but it was a long weekend of listening to generators at the campsite and watching "whats his name" win. I was hoping to be able to meet up with Nate but it was late on friday when we got in and I had to leave early on Monday to get home.

I made it to work for Tues, Weds and Thurs. and left yesterday morning for a quick two day fishing trip with the VP of my company on the Chesapeake Bay for stripers. I have been fishing for stripers with him for years on the Bay and have caught a lot of big fish. (Wasn't able to get out much last year due to the baby so I was really looking forward to getting out. I used to fish 4-5 days a week. Over the last few years though the fishing has been very limited.) He has a nice 36 sportfishing boat with a cabin to get out of the weather, but it was still cold enough to pull out my hunting gear to go fishing. We got out yesterday morning at first light and fished till about 7 last night. Not a bad day had three fish 20lbs, 22lbs and a 34lbr.!

Not bad but not my biggest. I friend of mine on teh boat next to us got a 51 lbr.

We pulled anchor and headed back to the marina and WHAM!!!!! we hit a submerged ??????something??????:confused3. We are still not sure what it was but it bent both the props on the boat to the point we could hardly move. Took us two hours to get to the dock for what would normally be a 10minute run. Luckily we know enough people in that part of MD that we were ableto borrow a boat to go out today. I was able to get another 22 lbr to finish off the trip. We had a younger guy wiht us that is a die hard bass fisherman but never really caught anything big he was able to catch a 42 lbr today.

Overall great trip (Bristol and fishing). I see I missed a lot on here. Sorry I missed the baseball draft but I had a late meeting. I am liking my team though.

I haven't checked out my bracket yet but I can't imagine it is going well.

Don, I like the shirt and would be interested. Let me know if I can get one in black.

Welcome to all the new dads and hopefully everyone is healthy.

Kevin

wow kevin, thats some big bait!!! you hit a sub what?????:scared1:

Morning everyone. Headed down to the keys soon. A stop at Cracker Barrel on the way for breakfast. Weather today is sunny with highs in the mid to high 80’s. DD will go diving and I plan on reading and lounging by the pool. I hear they expect snow at Butler University. I feel bad for everyone up there. NOT.

Seriously, everyone have a great day and for those experiencing a cold spring may it warm up soon. Yes, even Butler fans.

PS. Page ownage for the second time in three pages.

Nice Fishy man! :thumbsup2 Sounds like someone hit a rock pile---been there, done that... One time I hit a floating tree in the Altamaha river so hard the gears tried to come out of the side of the lower unit housing--that was a looong idle back to the ramp:headache::headache:

Chris.... this is for you and for your Hoyas....

Of those 3 resorts, I think the SSR slide is the smallest and least steep. (They are building a new slide at Paddock which will be open in June.). My youngest was 4 when she did first did slide. I am overprotective dad, she is daredevil, and wants to be like her older sister. So, sister or I would walk up stairs with her, and DW or I would be there to catch her. She did not use a float and we had her in swim classes, but this is KY so pools aren't open year round. But, she is also tall & strong. Now, she is 6 wears size 3 1/2 shoe (same as 9 year old sister) and 52 inches. I call her baby Shaq.

As for resorts:
Boardwalk - walk/boat to 2 parks, many dining choices, live entertainment, view Epcot fireworks from resort, guests seem more snooty

SSR - park at villa, boat ride or walk to DTD, golf course, 2 feature pools (June) , GS pool and private pools, spread out resort which means that unless you get good location, lots of outdoor walking to pools, food

OKW - similar to SSR, largest rooms, 2 queen beds (no couch), lowest # points to stay there, park at villa, and lots of outdoor walking, not as featured pools, no QS, boat to DTD

Not sure you can go wrong anywhere.

Thank you very much. I hope Ashley Judd chokes on some Beverly the next game. Go Butler :thumbsup2

UK still won. Ashley Judd's been looking rough lately. She bashed mountain-top coal mining and KYians really gave her grief for that. In KY, we are against polluting earth with oil, it needs to be polluted from coal.

Well, I think this is my 3rd post on this entire thread. Somewhere on page 4, maybe around 100, and now. Just trying to catch up a little. Has everyone been on vacation for the past couple of weeks?? I've never seen a thread move this fast; hope that version 8 is being prepared because we'll be there soon. Headed to Nashville Tuesday to watch the US v. Paraguay, then I'm off to Raleigh Wednesday night through Friday for a conference. Hope to have a working laptop with me, but the last couple of times using it have been iffy at best. Like most of you, my tourney bracket is littered with red; maybe the winner should be the one with the most red, then I would actually stand a chance. Hoping for a positive result in the 2nd game this afternoon: Brooklyn Decker over Ashley Judd :lmao:
