On a job application there was a question "Who to call in case of emergancy"

I wrote "Doctor"

What the hell's my mother going to do?

So Dads with daughters... question for you.

Today my DW has been gone all day, and won't be back until around 10. This day was her birthday present from both her sister and me... it was my SIL's idea - but I've had to be a willing accomplice to make it happen, since I had to have a free day with really nothing else on the scedule to make it happen. SIL sent her a bunch of money for different things to do - lunch, a gift, dinner, a snack, etc, etc. .. DW just had to fill the day doing and exploring of her choosing. So anyway, back to my question.

This afternoon DD asked me to play dolls with her. I do from time to time since I want her to have that time with daddy, and let her know she's special, etc, etc. - and everything we do doesn't revolve around my choices. Simple enough. BUT, she knows from past experience that I don't play dolls the "right way" - never have every time we play. Whereas she wants to do the dress-them-up, marry them off, kind of doll play - I'm more of the blow-them-up, rough and tumble kind of doll play. Last time she ran off with GI Joe's guns and ransacked the mall, located under my DD's bed (Barbie does so much more when I play, then when she and DW play :rotfl:). So anyway today, she once again asked me to play with her to which I agreed, but said, "You never really like it when I play. You always want me to, but then get disappointed when I play weird."

TODAY... she said, "But daddy, I love it when you play weird!"

THAT just melted my heart............ :cloud9:

Do your daughters like it when you play with them, but not necessarily by their "rules"?

The countdown calender in our kitchen shows:

7 ... days til DD's birthday party - it'll be TANGLED themed... thankfully the movie comes out on DVD this Tuesday!
9 ... til WDW :yay: :dance3:
11 ... til DD's birthday

I took the kids out for lunch today to Steak N Shake. Mmmmm. We had a great time. Shakes for dessert... yummmmmmm.

I go off the beaten path at times. Well, most of the time. She also liked that I "played different" than her mother. Tea became lets do shots. OK, I am kidding there. She did at times insist on her rules and I did my best to comply.

Just wait till she gets older. Mine (now 17) just has slight smile and shakes her head when I do something goofy.

Yes! My DD loves it!

Can someone go check on CJ? This game is nuts!

hey, looks like i beat mike this morning!!!:lmao: must be sleeping in today!:lmao:

Dave ~ I think I may have been on about the same time as you but I didn't post anything. My DW woke up with a bad migraine so she slept in and we didn't even go to TicToc today. We're usually there between 5:30 and 6:00 on Saturdays. I ended up watching Sea Hunt on some channel!

I got my t-shirt from Visaprint I now ready for DL next week and the DisDads meet at the Philly Zoo.
Here is the front, I put the logo on the upper right chest.

The colors look a little faded in the picture, But it looks real good in person! :rotfl:

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Ok dads... I finally received a quote from a local shop willing to print out a bunch of the DIS Dads Club shirts. I'd like to gauge the interest in the dads who would be interested in purchasing a shirt. I still have a couple outstanding questions with the vendor, but as it stands, I can get shirts up to size XXL for $11 a shirt. The text in the front will be modified with your member name and number.

Still need to find out if shirt color will change the price. Also, I'd be willing to ship these out at cost. Not sure how much shipping would be for various dad's locations, but I would think this is still cheaper than through other shops.

Nice shirt at a nice price! I'll keep this in mind if I get another one. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

OH, I'm so in with this. I will admit that I might not meet each and every criteria...the one that fits me best is that DW thinks I'm a big kid. :thumbsup2

So who am I? Disneyzell (AKA Drew), but DW also posts on this name, so don't let her fool you! :thumbsup2 I'm 40...from New Hampshire. I have two boys, 12 and 8 in addition to my lovely bride.

We have a trip to the World planned for July followed by a 5 day cruise on the new Dream...woohoo!

I am in the middle of a trip report for our Cruise on the Wonder.

I look foward to reading more!

Welcome!

Today, we got to spend time with our granddaughters, which was great. We also built a ramp for our elderly Border Collie to use to get on and off our deck. I sure hope he realizes it will be a lot better than the steps!
No news yet on the arrival of our newest grandchild.
And, our contract vote at work is tomorrow morning. I sure hope neither of our unions strikes (I'm in the Technical Unit, the smaller of the two).

I don't think they are necessarily mutually exclusive. There are few true pure-geeks or true-geeks. I like to think of it as a continuum, with freaks on one end & geeks on the other (a freak-geek spectrum if you will). So you could set up a likert scale of 1 to 10, with pure geek as 1 & pure freak as 10. Then you could assign a freak-geek spectrum score to each of us. Personally I'd be a Disney Freak-Geek of about 3.4

But I'm also a huge nerd...

What the Beverely did he just say? :confused3:eek:

ok Dads...anyone have any insight or experience with Saratoga Springs Resort???

My bracket has officially crashed and burned with the Buckeyes exit last night.

I would like to take 100% credit for that. Go Wildcats!

Thank you for playing along.

This is my 400th post and I have a question. Are we Disney Freaks or Disney Geeks.

I'll go with Disney Dreamer.

So Dads with daughters... question for you.

I rarely enforce any rules around the house, including mine and especially DW. She is the one who maintains order and I just goof around. So, when we play games, they never really know.

Steve, my signature has a link to the current owners page, and I'll try to answer questions, but am no expert.

From all the pictures that I have seen it looks nice...What do you know about the slide at the pool...are my kids too young for it?? We are looking to try to transfer our Hilton time share points into DVC through RCI at SSR...a lot of letters huh:rotfl2: What can you tell me pro and con with this resort. On the RCI reservation site I can trade into SSR OKW or Boardwalk Villas...what is best??
