Yea we did not get the heavy stuff yet lol just regular rain all day

Lets call this the "come to my little neck of the woods" game.:thumbsup2

What I would like to see is for Dads to put in a little post about what would be nice for someone to see or do while visiting your area.It can be anything from theme parks,to museums,Sporting events, could be something busy or even just a relxing trip to the beack or woods, could be anything anything!!!
The thing here is to pretend I (or other Dads) is a tourist and you are a travel agent trying to get me to visit your area.Give some ideas of what there would be to do if I (we) came to visit your neighborhood.List places to stay, maybe places to eat etc.
The reason I ask for this is I am looking for a road trip or two to do with the family this year, and would like to do something different.

Say Carl, why don't you tell us a little about your area? (If you do a good job, maybe I don't need to tell about mine.)

Thank goodness for wives, they keep us honest! We've talked about this before. If you're like me, the last person that I take care of is me (after kids and wife). See your doctor annually! There are so many more preventive things that they can do now, that they couldn't do 20 years ago. Lifestyle changes don't work, so take any medications that they want to give you!

But if you need surgery, call Philip! (DisDr.)

Mike, when I uploaded the high res picture to Vistaprint, I got the message "low resolution". Did you get this too?

I got the same thing initially. When I reduced the size of the graphic on the shirt, the error went away. I'm really hoping that means it won't look blurry. They require 175dpi for large graphics so making it smaller may have helped. I still haven't heard back from them; I hope they will print it!

Do you have a link to this shirt, Mike? So I don't need to start from square 1

Mike, when I uploaded the high res picture to Vistaprint, I got the message "low resolution". Did you get this too?

According to my order tracking info, my shirt has shipped and is due to arrive on the 17th! I sure hope it isn't blurry!
I have submitted a request for information pertaining to
"templates" that may be set up for club members. If it is allowed, one of our shirt designs could be used as a template so the name/# would be the only things needed to be changed. I don't know if vistaprint has such a thing or not. I should hear back within 48 hours.

Edited ~ I just heard back from vistaprint. Apparently, they do not allow templates:

Thanks for contacting Vistaprint, where it's easy to make an impression for less.

We have received your inquiry regarding use of a template design on non-Vistaprint products.

The templates are either designed by Vistaprint, and not available for sale; or are images that we have licensed from Corbis or Getty Images. You will need to contact these two vendors regarding the purchase and usage of any images.

Sorry, Guys!

And with the Jayhawks advancement to the semifinal round of the Big12 Tournament, I'm back on the productivity train. 2 1/2 transcripts redacted.

Back to the grindstone . . .

Hey dads, just checking in on the new thread here. In case you're wondering still in a holding pattern for DW's job in Indy. Extremely frustrating, but we decided on a plan b in the event that it falls through. Moving to Orlando, her current company has a branch out there and she works well with the principle of that branch, so one way or the other it's a win / win. Of course I'd have to find work out there first, but I do have some contacts in the area. The only problem now is when do we give up on the Indy job?

We've sold the house and moved in to a small townhouse that we are renting until we know more about Indy. It wasn't easy letting go of our beloved home, but we didn't have much of a choice, it would have been much easier if we knew that Indy was waiting for us, but we really don't know what's going to happen, all we can do is wait until they either lift the hiring freeze or rescind the offer.

In the meantime, I will try to participate more on the board, it's not as if I have a whole lot to do these days, LoL.....

PIN trading, big question is what pins am I supposed to trade. Can I bring some from local attractions near home, or do I need to get Disney pins?

ok Everyone please stay calm. Please line up two by two ,as we will start boarding the ark soon.

They trade Disney pins. They sell them in the resort gift shops and in shops at the parks. They sell individual pins in the 6-15$ range I think and they also sell sets of multiple pins. The CM's have lanyards with pins on them and they will trade with you. If you are planning on getting pins to trade the Disney outlets in St. Augustine and Orlando and eBay can be good sources of cheap pins.

Other things to note:
CMs won't necessarily take a pin if they already have a duplicate of it on their lanyard
The black rubber pin backs kind of stink.

I would love to chime in on the pin trading but just thinking of it gives me chills!!! with four kids collecting and trading them my wallet goes empty fast
