This reminds me of my last physical I got from my doctor last year. First, though, I have to mention that my doctor is all of 30-something, ex-football player, works out all the time, all the ladies seem to be wooed by him. We went through the whole process and he mentions how beneficial loosing some weight would be for my intermittent lower back problems. (I know, I know!) They also drew blood to check all those levels they like to check.

the next day, my doctor calls me back to his office. Says they need to draw blood again because they got some 'interesting' (or something to that effect) results that he had to verify. My eyes widened and I got a little nervous. He assured me it wasn't anything to be alarmed about.

I go back few days later to discuss the results. I was nervous and asked how bad it was. I figured my cholesterol levels were off the charts or something (since I am a big foodie.) He started to chuckle and said, "Actually, your levels are better than mine!" :lmao: Well, sugar was a little higher than normal, but that was it.

I guess they had to draw blood again because there was no way a chubby guy like me could be in as good of health as me - so they surely did something wrong the first time. :lmao:

Never judge a book by its cover! (Or it's enlarged gut.)

I told him to just wait until I actually start exercising one of these days!

That's awesome, John!

Are we still doing the cholesterol pool? My total was 140 (down from 190), with an LDL of 84 (down from 130). I've been really trying to stick to the low-carb thing, so I was happy to see that those numbers weren't higher! :woohoo: Of course, I'm on 20 mg a day of Mevacor, so that probably helps...

March Break Day 5 Update

Status: I think the kids are ok - haven't seen them in about 18 hours - Can't call police yet, as they won't file a missing person report until they are gone 24 hours.

Camera Update: I have moved from the Olympus and the Nikon, and I think I have settled on the Canon SX30. Simply because I remembered I have Airmiles, and can get it free. I don't know 'bout you, but FREE is a great price for me.

Did they tie you to a chair with a chest exerciser and then run off to find some rich stuff?

Free is a very difficult price to beat.

This will have to become one of my mottos as well

In true Disney fashion they could put drawbridges over those water ways.

I vote for a giant catapult!

I second this! How do we get this put up for a vote.

I get similar reactions from doctors. Obviously being short and a bit heavy means that you must have to have a high-BP and epic cholesterol levels, so every time that don’t find them, they rerun the test.

I wish I’d gotten around to joining in on y’alls NCAA-Pick-em. DW had me pick a set for her to toss into the pool of at the country club she works for and as of now I’m standing at 13-3. Good start to the first round. Two of the three I missed I also have loosing in the second round. If that pans out I’ll be in real good shape in the Sweet-16 (of course that a real big if :rolleyes1).

Well, I have grass that needs mowing and hedges that need trimming, so I’ll holler back at y’all later on. As my Daddy always use to say: “I need to go out and make myself useful as well as ornamental”.

I guess that's what being a little bit farther south will do to you. I still need to get my lawnmower out, make sure it will still start, change oil, etc. Our grass is starting to get a little bit of green in it now.

Ok, now be honest... they locked you in a closet about 18 hours ago, didn't they???:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Uh, oh. Did they blind you? :scared1:

If you don't hear from me by midnight... please call the police.

Oh, and what else I learned this week - cookies ARE a food group!

On a side note - true story, yesterday (before I lost the kids) my 6 year old said.
DS6 - "When I get older, I am going to drink Coke, and eat Pizza every day"
Me - "No you aren't, that's not healthy, and you will become really really fat"
DS6 - "I don't care, I'll just go on The Biggest Loser"

OK, here is the T-shirt design I used. If it looks slightly distorted, it's because of the way it was spread out, not a problem with the printing.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Love how the colors turned out! I'm still checking with a local shop that is run by one of our church members. Might could even get a volume discount going here... :rolleyes1

Got my DisDads shirt in! Looks great. I got a black long sleeve microfiber/synthetic type shirt. I like them because the are lightweight, cool and dry fast (very comfy). I will be sporting it in the parks in 9 days!!!

My cholesterol was last checked in Oct and came in at 181, LDL of 40. Hopefully this P90X workout will help better these numbers.

Darn, now we have to clean up the clubhouse! :laundy:

Especially the bathroom... sheesh!

AND Page Ownage, too! (no "cheating" either).. time to go home....

Good luck Steve! Hopefully you haven't been feeling like the Space Shuttle too much. (inside joke)

Thanks Mark...everything came out just fine in the end ...figurativley and litteraly :rotfl2: I did have that space shuttle sensation last night.these words kept coming to mind.."Houston, we have a problem"

Getting killed in the tournament pool. Comeback is highly unlikely. Something along the line of Morehead St. and Richmond both winning. Oh wait, maybe there is hope.

Got back yesterday from a short jaunt to WDW. Nice relaing few days. I did see the new queue at the HM. While most of the new interactive features were not working, it was still pretty cool.

It’s one of those Gift/Curse things. It’s 80 degrees outside today, the spring bulbs are blooming, the Dogwoods and Bradford Pear trees are already loosing their blossoms and leafing out and the Cardinals have already returned. But then again, I’m also already battling the Dandelions and Honey Suckle, the pollen levels are nightmarish, the humidity is climbing by the day and the temperature will be up in the “holly peanut butter” range within a few weeks. You win some… You loose some…

One the up side, I carried my pedometer with me while I was mowing and it turns out that the distance traveled while pushing the thing up and down the hills is a shade better then a 5K. That counts as a good exercise day.

Very cool! What was working?
Was the organ crypt working?

Just took down our Christmas lights (sorry Mark!). Still can't get to some of the extension cords due to snow, but at least the lights are off! Not the last, however! Our neighbor across the street still has wreaths up.

What's the over-under on how long it takes DW to notice?

We sent Steve a Dave Barry column about colonoscopies yesterday, which is where teh Space Shuttle joke comes from. If you haven't read it, it's highly entertaining. I'll have to try and find the link again.

At this point, why not just be early for next year? And given my screen name, I probably can't make fun of your wife. :confused3 :rotfl2:
