This reminds me of my last physical I got from my doctor last year. First, though, I have to mention that my doctor is all of 30-something, ex-football player, works out all the time, all the ladies seem to be wooed by him. We went through the whole process and he mentions how beneficial loosing some weight would be for my intermittent lower back problems. (I know, I know!) They also drew blood to check all those levels they like to check.
the next day, my doctor calls me back to his office. Says they need to draw blood again because they got some 'interesting' (or something to that effect) results that he had to verify. My eyes widened and I got a little nervous. He assured me it wasn't anything to be alarmed about.
I go back few days later to discuss the results. I was nervous and asked how bad it was. I figured my cholesterol levels were off the charts or something (since I am a big foodie.) He started to chuckle and said, "Actually, your levels are better than mine!"Well, sugar was a little higher than normal, but that was it.
I guess they had to draw blood again because there was no way a chubby guy like me could be in as good of health as me - so they surely did something wrong the first time.![]()
Never judge a book by its cover! (Or it's enlarged gut.)
I told him to just wait until I actually start exercising one of these days!
That's awesome, John!
Are we still doing the cholesterol pool? My total was 140 (down from 190), with an LDL of 84 (down from 130). I've been really trying to stick to the low-carb thing, so I was happy to see that those numbers weren't higher!
