Is anybody going to watch the All Star Game this weekend? The new format could be interesting!

Than again it could be the usual snooze fest as well.

Here I am with Christian and Margie in their living room, just last night.

It was awesome to be able to see them once again... and influence Margie to say yes to Christian's desire to hit WDW again! :lmao: Let's see, it's now 4:30. According to what he told me on the phone this morning, they should be en route to DTW right now, for their 6pm flight down to MCO. They'll be staying at the Boardwalk this weekend. He promised to taunt me with photos and texts of their weekend adventure. Turn about's fair play - I taunted him with texts and photos last weekend while I was there - especially from his favorite resort, the Polynesian!

We had a nice meal together at PF Chang's, and then wandered the mall for a brief while to let little miss Virginia burn off some energy. She's such a doll, but by the time we got back to the house, she did NOT want to be in a picture :rotfl: Oh well, there's always next time. Hoping to see them again in the not too distant future.

Earlier this week I was in the MK, and got to enjoy the all-new castle show (also being shown on the facade of IASW at Disneyland). It is a projection show, filled with guest photos from earlier in the day at the park for the new marketing promo, LET THE MEMORIES BEGIN. I had heard about it before-hand, and wasn't so sure about it, thinking it would be just a bland offering. But, I actually thought it was pretty cool.

The castle (and IASW facade) were digitally mapped over numerous months prior. They use 16 projectors to completely cover and transform the face of the castle. It's pretty technically sophisticated and cool.

These two pics are very blurry and bad, but the video from elsewhere here on the DIS from the world premiere night last week, is pretty cool. Of course, like any show, it's better in person - so if you will be heading to WDW this year - be sure to check it out. It takes place about 20 minutes before Wishes, and lasts about 11 minutes. I didn't stick around for Wishes since the MK was jam-cram-packed, and I've seen Wishes many times before, and honestly it isn't my favorite fireworks show. I couldn't get back down Main Street (completely blocked by a mass of humanity), but they were directing guests to Town Square via backstage, which took less than 2 minutes to walk. So I did see Wishes from outside the gates, between the bag check security area and the turnstiles. Not the best view no, but that's ok (again, I wasn't intending to watch it).

Here are the pics, and the link to the new show

While we are there this year in October we will be going to MNSSHP! Should I go as Mr. Incredible or...Snow White?:confused3

That looks pretty cool! I bet it's one of those things you need to see in person though.

I saw the video that Disney released for the premier and it is really cool. I can’t wait till I can see it in person.

Snow White… Definitely, and we need pictures. :lmao:

(Insert Keanu Reeves face here): Whoa.

I think if I tried that with my wife, she'd agree immediately. The hard part would be figuring out how to pay for it... :confused3

You know Mark, my Julie would go straight to the "how to pay for it" part. :confused3 Thank goodness for me, at least, that I have work trips that at least take me from time to time. Not having to pay for transportation is huge.

I'm starting to get obsessed with the idea of a DCL Bahamas cruise on the new Disney Dream, probably next winter. We've been considering Disneyland for "Squeaker's Trip" (this past October trip was for The Bug's birthday), but transportation costs to California, plus the whole losing two hours coming home thing, are starting to sour me on that plan.

Meanwhile, the new Dream sounds AMAZING. We've never been on a cruise before, but after all this cold and snow this year, the idea of spending some time next Winter in Florida and the Bahamas sounds better and better. The kids' activities look great, and we love the all-inclusive nature of a cruise vacation. I glanced at some prices tonight and was surprised that they weren't as bad as I thought they'd be.

Saw the previews of the show at DL on IASW. Looks pretty cool. :thumbsup2

The new format might actually make it watchable, I'm surprised that Lidstrom didn't pick at least one hurricane. Staal has the other two hurricanes so the crowd will definitely be behind his team.

Unfortunately I couldn't snag a seat in the company box for this one. I was in there for game one of the cup finals the year the canes won it.

Hi guys, as Stopher has told you with his help I was able to get my wife to say yes to a spur of the moment trip to the world. I got the ok from Margie yesterday at 11:00 am and we were on the ground at MCO by 8:30 pm, checked in and on the boardwalk by 10:00. Alamo car rental is great because you can check in online and go right to a car. You then stop a gate for about 2 minutes and you are on your way. We are staying at the Boardwalk and it is our first time staying in this area and we are very excited to take advantage of the walk to Epcot and HS. :cool1:

Tigertown

I is great to see another Detroit guy on the boards. Welcome to the club. :thumbsup2

Maybe I should have Christopher over for dinner. I'd love to see his work first hand. :lmao::lmao:

The draft was actually fun to watch. Picking Stamkos right after Ward was a no brainer but I love that they gave Phil Kessel a car for being picked last:lmao:

Too bad you couldn't get the seats. I've never been to an NHL All Star game but I was able to go to the MLB All Star game back in 2005 when it was in Detroit. It was really fun!
