I'm glad you guys got to meet up! Looking forward to seeing more!

Looks like i picked the wrong week to quit sniffin' glue, er, to go to Disney!

You all are there, and i'm patiently waiting till Dec 27... well, "patiently" isn't really the right adjective. More like... "annoying the snot out of my wife"
Turns out, you can't get Cinderella's Royal Table reservations the week between Xmas & New years when you check 26 days out. Lesson Learned.

To review the other things:
1) thanks for the FB links, though to date, i'm only FB friends with people i know. So, looks like i'll need to schedule a few DIS Dad meets to bump up my friends list
2) Trenner: thanks for the Epic Mickey links. Once i'm at home, i'll check them out.
3) Bob Jackson's at POR, right? hopefully we'll make the time to check him out

That's completely understandable. For what it's worth, a few of the guys are very active on Facebook as well as here, and it's been a lot of fun getting to know them better. Sometimes we have some good running commentaries going during TV shows or sporting events, too.

3) Bob Jackson's at POR, right? hopefully we'll make the time to check him out

Yes, he's at POR. I think it's Wed.-Sat. nights at 8:30 p.m. in the lounge.

To AJRitz (and any other Jewish Dads here I have forgotten or didn't know):

HAPPY HANUKKAH!

He is now qualified to be in the cockpit and he can fire up and run the engines (a Crew Chief requirement).
What, you mean it's more than just pulling the choke, pumping the gas petal a few times, spraying a little ether into the carb, cranking the key and saying "come on, come on, come on, come ON!"

here you go, make it official!!:thumbsup2 as i said on the dec. trip thread, we met steve and his family over at the grand flor. tonight and they are great people. it was a pleasure to meet them.:thumbsup2
Nice pic guys! I'll see you both in a few days!

Hello All You Dis Dad's....

My name is Scott and I too am a Dad who loves Disney.

I'm 33, from Ohio, and have two DD's....DD3 and DD16months. Oh and the DW too. Yes I'm a Man among Princesses.

My girls love all things Disney and have been to WDW every year since they were born.

Unfortunately, we've only done a 1 day trip to MK each year as we vacation in Daytona Beach, FL. My wife and her sisters have always gone to Daytona Beach each year since they were in college...so it's tradition.

I'm hoping to change the tradition soon and thankfully everyone in the family agrees that we must make a WDW full week trip very soon.

Currently we're scheduled to visit MK again in April during the Spring Break rush.... I know we're nuts...but we always go on vacation during Spring Break each year.

So please consider this post my "application for membership"!

Scott

p.s. Anyone else forced to sing the "guy" parts of the Disney Princess music in the car with their wife and daughter(s)? Aladdin, Gaston...etc..

Welcome Scott and yes, you definitely need to take a longer trip to WDW ASAP.

The Magic Kingdom is great but there is so much more to see and do.

Welcome. No, I don't sing the guy parts in the car. I want to break all of the windows. :rolleyes1

I've really become interested in this Cam Newton stuff at Auburn. Let's review: dad shops your services for between 180 and 200K. Suspended for 12 hours then reinstated the same day. Meanwhile at North Carolina, a football player is suspended for 6 games because his school teacher mother helped him correct a paper that he wrote. Now, there was other stuff at NC with other players that was well deserved with the suspensions and stuff that I will never, ever defend, but the paper/6 games and shopping your kid for 200K/12 hours just reeks of major stinch.

Rant over.

Actually, that might be what it takes! He hasn't told me yet. I just hope he doesn't forget the key! The Boss wouldn't like it!:lmao:

Welcome, Scott! :thumbsup2

Rant cont'd - how different is what Cam Newton's father did from what Reggie Bush's family did? Because they actually got the money instead of just asking for it? From now on, every blue-chip athlete should have some crazy family member ask for $$ from whatever college is recruiting them. If they get caught, the athlete can just say it was their crazy relative and they didn't know a thing about it. They should rename the BCS Title game and call it the Hypocrisy Bowl.

OK, my part of the rant is over.

Had an early Christmas with the in-laws and DS and DD got new disney PJs :thumbsup2 ... and a week in Fort Wilderness cabins with their grandparents next summer! Sure beats the flannels sheets they gave them 2 years ago. :confused3
