Glad your wife is doing so well...continued prayers for your family.

Hey guys.

I am so looking forward to my two upcoming Disney trips...first west, then south. :cool1: I have had a very full, busy, hard week already. I spent Monday through Wednesday in Ohio with lots of long customer meetings - with problem customers. No fun. But thankfully those are over and we are moving forward with some restructures that should help their situation, and get us back on track having performing loans again instead of troubled ones. Ugh... I hate that part of my job. Oh well... Disneyland in just 9 days, and Walt Disney World in just 17 days. I'm definitely looking forward to those. Hope you all have a great day.

Hi Nemisis! :wave2:

My Christmas Tree...which no one commented on. :sad1:

Don't you know that nobody said anything because you're my nemesis?!? :confused3

I'm sure they were all just so dumbstruck by it's obvious niceness and sparkle that they just weren't able to speak. Or maybe they just missed it like I did when skimming through the past few pages... :rotfl: Sorry Nate! It looks nice, but I have to ask... what are the little red jammies hanging down towards the bottom? Oh and I love the Mickey in front of the fireplace, it's awesome.

Red Jammies (aren't they cute) and a few other pieces are from DW's Parents collection. the rest are just bits we pick every year...the Boys also have an ornament for every year for them to take when they are grown and have their own places and trees.

The Tree is of course artificial and 19 years old...so is the Angel.

I "assemble" the tree...Trust me it's a 2-3 hour job...19 year old tree...I'm surprised it has lasted...and I hang the lights also.

While I'm assembling the tree everyone else is taking our orniments out of their original boxes...DW hangs the garland...and we all hang orniments.

In my defense, your pictures don't make it past my firewall at work, and I don't necessarily remember to go back and look at all the pictures and youtube links when I'm at home.

You are forgiven...and I will not use my Dad-inator on you.

You can keep a tree for 19 years????? Wow, I thought they only lasted 1 or 2 years since that's about how often we seem to have to buy a new tree. And my argument for just getting a real tree is always met with how wasteful it is to spend all that money on something that's only going to last for a few weeks...

:thumbsup2 I love the history that some of our ornaments have. While we don't have red jammies, we do have a red pig that my DW makes fun of every year, but it was given to my mother by her grandmother. My mom passed it to us several years back so the kids would enjoy it and then later one of them would get it. Last year when we were decking the tree, DW tried to avoid putting it on, but all 3 kids ganged up on her and it had to be placed on the tree. At that time they were literally fighting over who would get the little pig. I remember laughing about it quite a bit over the next few days, and every time I started, DW would shoot me such a look and hit my arm. Too bad we aren't putting up a tree this year here at home, or we'd probably a repeat of the situation again.

The past week or so DW has been trying to figure out what we will do to deck out her dad's place while we're out there. We want to do something, definitely. She plans on getting a tree out there, and has been on the phone with her bro several times discussing making sure there are lights on hand before we arrive so that we can decorate whatever tree we end up getting. But of course we won't be taking ornaments with us, so she plans to visit the local dollar store to see what kind of things we might be able to get to make the place festive.

And speaking of her dad... for all those of you who have prayed and such over the past couple of months - his latest MRI results came back this week, and the cancer cells have been shrinking! We are very excited about it. The tarceva pills that he has been taking have not only been doing their job of stopping the growth, they have actually been doing even more. She was so happy to get that news a couple of days ago. He's up and around, walking with and without a cane (instead of the walker), and actually drove a couple of weeks ago for the first time in 4 months. Went to McDonald's and the bank. He's doing well and is quite happy. At this point the doctors believe (though no one knows for sure of course), that the original 6-8 months prognosis can be extended to 1-2 years, maybe more. But no one wants to be say anything above that. So we have one more thing to be thankful for as Thanksgiving approaches. DW told him on the phone last night that he should definitely be thankful that he picked the "right time" to have cancer... just 3 years ago this drug didn't exist, and since he has the kind of cancer that chemo doesn't work for... he would have been gone pretty quickly. But not now anyway... :)

wow!! stopher, thats great news! i like the mcdonalds thing, when my dad "sent home to make comfortable", thats all he wanted to eat. he wasnt a big mcd. fan before but all of sudden he needed the cheese burgers. even in the hosp., we would sneek it in to him. we never did that before and the drs and nurse didnt like it to much but they looked the other way. the guy didnt have much time and thats all he asked for other than his kids.:thumbsup2

Yeah...I kinda want to get a new one...but this one looks so good and the branches are perfect for hanging lights and orniments. Every year for the past 10 years or so I look and find nothing that I like.

I'd love to find one I could put up in a few minutes vs. hours...but the branches never look right.
