In other news, things are very well. We got our family Christmas gift on Saturday - an Xbox360 Kinect. WOW! That's a lot of fun! While our Wii was great for our kids when they were younger, I think the Kinect is exactly what they'll need as they transition to tween/teens and out of my house! We've been playing Dance Central (hush! It's a lot of fun) and I think it will count as my new exercise platform.

Our family got the Kinect that thing is unbelievable....thye have the biggest loser for it so we picked i up...I voted for you what a cool pic

DANCE CENTRAL!!! pics or movies or it didnt happen!! man law!:lmao:

Well hello and a belated Happy New Year to all the Dads!

We are back from our 2 weeks in California. Let me just say it was nice but bittersweet and hard at the same time. My FIL had been doing quite well, but since my visit out there just last month, has sadly taken a turn for the worse. My DW did NOT want to leave at all, but all in all, it's good to be home once again sleeping in our own beds, instead of a different one every 2-3 nights.

I was back at the office today and wow was it a zoo. Over 1500 emails to sort through. Lots of vm's - and paper mail to boot. Plus, oh several deadlines to meet yet this week. Welcome back to reality! Ugh.

And California?... let's see... 5 cities, 29 relatives, Disneyland - packed Disneyland... record attendance Disneyland... ticket sales were stopped at 10 am Disneyland... sardines Disneyland. Wow. But VGC was magical beyond all measure. Oh my goodness. If any of you are able to get out there (who aren't already planning on doing so) - Please, PLEASE, PLEASE do. It has the charm and grace of the Wilderness Lodge, and so much more. Oh my goodness. It is fabulous. This was my 4th stay, but the 1st with the family, and my first in anything larger than a Studio. The 2 Bedroom (Dedicated) was magnificent. I just love the murphy bed in the living room, and that 3rd bathroom (like at Kidani), just made it so much easier for 9 people to get along. My SIL and nephews were absolutely enchanted. AND THE VIEW of World of Color at California Adventure was fabulous. Sure the Golden Zephyr ride was in the way for part - but it was quite nice viewing from either the balcony or the living room window after having seen it in person down in the park. I can't wait to stay again next November, if not sooner.

Well - lots to catch up on, and some updates to write for my existing TR and the one I'm trying to start as well from my bi-coastal trip in November/December (let alone the one that just finished...). I'll be back by soon. TTFN.

WELCOME BACK STOPHER!!! glad you had a good time. sorry to hear about your fil.when we talked in epcot he was doing well. we will keep him in our prayers. i was starting to get worried what happened to you.:lmao:

Yes, he was. I was only out there 4 wks prior to this visit and he was doing well. Time can certainly bring about changes!

Thank you for the vote! Enjoy the Kinect - I know we are!

Welcome back and I'm sorry to hear about your FIL. I've only been in a packed park once - that's why we plan our trips WAY in advance. I don't know that I'd be able to handle a really packed park like that.

Oh yeah...in advance we did...unfortunately, that didn't matter. The week between Christmas & New Year is always busy...not always THAT busy though. When we lived out there, we would have just gone home & not worried about it. But when you're only there for a short time once a year or so, & live more than 2200 miles away... you GO & DEAL with it.

just a few christmas present i got dw this year. just what we needed, more disney stuff.:lmao: since im not allowed in the art of disney anymore, ill shop on line.:lmao:

F.Y.I., THE PEOPLE SITTING IN THE MAGAZINE RACK ARE GIFTS I GOT THIS YEAR. TAMMY PULLS THEM OUT WHEN I GO TO BED AND SETS THEM ON THE FLOOR, AND I PUT THEM BACK IN THE MORNING. SHE TELLS ME ,DONT PUT THOSE THINGS IN THERE.:lmao:

I'm going to slip out of "lurking" mode to troll for votes. I don't know if I'm "allowed" to do this or not, but I figure other people do it and we may as well have a DisDad win something rather than some other guy.

Vote Now - Group 2 of 4 - Posters Choice <-- The Disboards photography contest. #A is mine (as if you didn't already know). Just a thought.

My wife, on new meds now, is officially out of the wheel chair and I have new crutches for her on the way. If you're in the market for some light-weight forearm crutches I can point you in the direction of the company we're using. Anyway, she only uses them when she's going for walks or when she needs stability and has been actually able to play the dance game with us. That's a huge step for her.

Lastly, my 14 yo daughter, the one who had built a signature book for the kids that she babysits, was rewarded for her effort with pink eye. The hand sanitizer came out and she's now under quarantine until she sees the doctor this afternoon. Whee.

So, that's my monthly update. Still reading and laughing, posting when appropriate.

Vote early and vote often!

I'm a little slow in finding things on the board, but I think I've found a place to stake my claim.

Hello everyone....grumpyfannypack here. I'm 39, father of two, husband of one, from the far away state of Illinois, and upon my family's return from WDW in Sept. '10, have just realized that I am addicted to Walt Disney World. Not so much Disney in general, just WDW. So maybe this is the place for me if y'all'll have me.

Welcome! I've got the same "strain" as you - much more into WDW, but not as much Disney in general. Where in central IL are you located? Anywhere near Champaign?

Yep....take it from me...It is true...Looks like they pirated our numbers and created new cards. They tested them today at a Rite Aid in Pasadena California and then they somehow ended up in Texas. Mine was used at a Game Stop and Dillards in Dallas and Plano and Shari was used at Dillards in Dallas. Cards were actually swiped...it was not an electronic transaction. So far the totals are already in the thousands...they said by morning it will be worse but both of our cards are now frozen. Just when you think things might settle down! Mark...I blame you for going to work out tonight and causing the apocolypse!:rotfl2:

Happy New Year everybody! I hope you all have wonderful 2011 with multiple trips to WDW!!!!!! :lmao:

Holy Peanut Butter, I hope they offer protection, and don't hold you to it:scared1: When they find them I hope they get the Max:woohoo: I can't stand hearing about this kinda stuff, stealing from a hard working American, in a way I wish they never came out with credit cards, our forefathers never had them and still managed:confused3, IMO they are too easy to get and alot of people really take advantage of them:rolleyes1 I'm glad they froze the card, I hope they didn't get any other info:scared1:

Thanks guys! I knew I could count on a fellow Coloradan (though not currently... grr..) and Pennsylvanian! :D

Remember, you can buy that print if you want. I don't make a penny on it - it's offered at cost because 1) I think everyone should have nice pictures of Disney and 2) we're all DisDads. Extra money goes to trips to Disney, not art.

Steve, I am so, so sorry. I had no idea about the immense power over the universe that I wield. I'll return to my slovenly couch-potato ways at once. :happytv:

Just so you guys know, it's not just this bank...we have a revolving door of guys coming in and out of the office with similar issues this morning...

We "sorta" knew of an issue, but didn't have any idea how large or how complex. Steve is right, they're counterfeiting cards. Last night we thought it was a computer hack---now, we're not so sure....I hate a thief:mad:

By the way, anyone seen Harbeson?? Wondering if he survived last night:lmao::lmao:

Annnd......for who is the Disney Cruise guru...considering a cruise late spring early summer and have some questions--particularly if it's worth it with a three year old:confused3

ETA:

And Mark's right above me and posted while I was talking to my Secretary which delayed my posting:headache:

Soooo.....it's supposed to rain today Mark---do I need to wear my helmet to protect me from the falling frogs??:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I just checked both my accounts (Wachovia and Wells Fargo - I had two accounts separately before the merger) and they're fine for now.

Yikes!!! I’ll have to check on my accounts when I go home for lunch. Credit Cards make most transactions easier, but they are certainly too easily compromised.

Depends on the young’en, but I think I can confidently say yes. DCL takes all the space that is normally reserved for casinos and devotes it entirely to the kids. If you sail on board the Dream, the kid’s clubs are even larger and more elaborate and should be well staffed. There are also plenty of activities for the whole family along with character events, shows, movies, scavenger hunts, and on, and on, and on. The stop at Castaway Key is also a real joy and is honestly more fun then most of the more tourist oriented ports in the Caribbean.

We’re currently planning to sail on the Dream at the end on June (barring any farther financial interruptions). It will be our third time on a DCL vessel and I honestly can’t wait to get down there.

Ask your questions here or PM me directly and I’ll try to point you in the right direction.
