By any chance...is anyone going to be going to the MVMCP on 12/3? I am kicking the idea of going that night if we do that.

Page ownage!!

Leaving for WDW in 6 days, cleaned the gutters and started putting the Christmas lights on the house.

I'll be doing that next weekend...

Have a great trip to WDW!! Wish I were going too... but I'll be there in just 4 weeks.

Howdy All,
Just checking in. Been another busy weekend, but things should really calm down for a bit now. I’ve got 40 days to finish getting prepped for our trip to The World and we’re all getting pretty antsy. I’m starting my monthly 6 to 3 tomorrow, so I’m actually grateful for the extra hour of sleep.

One more thing (and I swear this is the last Band Geek Post that I’ll put up for a while (unless any of y’all are foolish enough to comment on this one). As I said near the close of the last thread, our little HS Band went out and won themselves a second consecutive state championship. As is the rule around here: “Pictures or it didn’t happen.”, and a couple of you asked for a video. Well… you did ask. Several folks have actually posted their version of the show and the link below goes to one of the best ones (When I get a copy of the official recording I may rip and post that, but this is good for now).

Like I said we’re all really proud of these kids and they were really smokin’ that night, but see what you think (note: the sound kicks in at about the 16 second mark)

Hey Rob that video was great!!! I have been looking forward to you putting that on here so we could see the results of all the hard work! Great job!!

Is it just me or does Wade Phillips always look surprised that there is a football game going on? He looks like that guy who gets on Splash Mountain who realizes he is going up a really big hill and may get wet.

To me seems like every time they put the camera on him it looks like he's always turning to his assistants to get an explanation of what just happened out there. :confused3

As a state employee, I can't even begin to think about a 2nd home. Heck, I have a hard time even thinking about my first home :rotfl2:
LOL You should move to CT. We have the highest paid state workers in the country! :lmao::lmao:

the in-laws have a house down in cape may. they had a realitor that handled the rentals. my in laws would block out there dates and the realitor would rent out the rest. the realitor would inspect the property before and after for damage. over the years, after the renters paid the place off, my inlaws rented it them selfs only to people that rented for years and could be trusted. now, they only rent it a few weeks a year. there both retired and spend alot of time down there.:woohoo: even today, if they would sell it, they would make one peanut butter of a profit. :thumbsup2
This sounds about right. Between the family and friends that we have I'm sure we would be able to rent something out a few times a year to start. I realize that it is not easy but I am willing to give it a try. Heck if it doesn't work out we can hold onto the house for a few years and hopefully sell it for a profit.

Careful... Real estate in Florida can be tricky and you never know if you'll be able to rent. Research this well before you jump in!

Besides, there's always DVC :banana::banana::banana:
Thanks. We aren't looking to have it rented 40 weeks of the year. Just something to use and hopefully have rented 12-15 times a year. If we are able to have some income to defray some cost even better. :goodvibes

DVC.. I rather have a house than a time share... I think? :confused3 :lmao::lmao:

Mike, I love hearing these updates. Sounds like your son is doing great!

Thanks! We haven't heard from him for a couple days but he wasn't scheduled to work until yesterday afternoon when the jets got back from Homestead. I know this will be a very busy week for the new Crew Chiefs so we may not hear much. I'm anxious for any little bit of news!

By the way........Go Giants! Cowboys again this week, at home! We're gonna hang 'em out to dry! :laundy: :lmao:

This getting dark at 5 is garbage, can't get anything done outside after work. It does have 1 plus side, IMO night time at WDW is much more Magicial then the day, with all the lights, especially when we all will be there with all the Christmas lights and Decorations:goodvibes
:thumbsup2

I have a brother in China who loves the night time Packer games - it gives him an excuse to call in sick to work, start drinking at 8 am, and watch the game live. He said he was at a bar full of Texans and he was the only one wearing a foam Cheesehead. The bar got quieter and quieter as the game when on - except at his table.

Enjoy your bye week!:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

they are going to need it week come down to see Vick and company :happytv::rotfl2:

Congratulations on the win yesterday. Tough loss for the Colts. I heard on the news this morning they are holding an open tryout for RB and WR.:sad2:

You're absolutely right. With the money that Jerry Jones throws around to win, I still have no idea how Wade Phillips ever even got that job to begin with. I was shocked when he was announced as their coach and the surprise doesn't get any less each year he is on the sidelines.

to quote jerry jones after the game," someone is gonna pay for this." :lmao: i hear ticket prices are gonna triple!!!:lmao:

I'm not picking on you Cowboy fans...but that last night was embarassing.

Jerry Jones was asked what needed to be fixed...his reply was...

"I can't put my finger on it because I don't have enough fingers." :lmao:

That was a nail-biter of a game (Eagles-Colts, I mean). I don't normally complain about officiating because it typically evens out, but some of the calls last night were awful. What did they look like from a Colts point of view?

Jones said "People will suffer" for this. Haven't Cowboys fans suffered enough this year? :lmao:

I think there was something in the coffee the NFL officials were drinking on Sunday morning. I just read somewhere that, across the league yesterday, an average of 15 penalties/game were called. I've seen more bad calls on pass interference/not pass interference in the last three weeks than I've seen in years. It's just been awful. Officials have not been in proper position to make the calls, and seem to be guessing about whether/how significant contact was made.

As for the Cowboys, the root of the problem is the owner. He runs out of town anyone who questions his judgment on personnel or game planning matters (e.g. Parcells). So he ends up spending a ton of money on players that, while they may be individually talented, don't mesh together well as a team. He ends up with a locker room full of selfish malcontents. And their drafts of late have been awful. They draft like Dave Kingman used to swing at baseballs. Every pick is a huge swing - and they end up striking out more than they hit homeruns. There's no reason that they should have entered this season expecting Alex Barron to be a starting NFL left tackle - he was let go by a team with a glaring need at the position (the Rams) because he couldn't handle right tackle.

It's been frustrating being a Chiefs fan the last few years, but at least the ownership has been (mostly) honest about a rebuilding effort and not pretending that they were poised for a Super Bowl run. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to be a Cowboy fan right now, and see just how deep a pile of peanut butter Jerry Jones has been shoveling on top of them for the last three years (at least).

When I watch a game, I always try to keep a level perspective of the officiating. I realize these guys are watching top notch athletes at full speed and have to make split second decisions while we have the advantage of instant replay and multiple camera angles.

The 15 yarder for the helmet to helmet with Collie was borderline, but with the NFL cracking down that's gonna be called every time now. I thought they missed a horsecollar on Garcon, but we're very sensitive about losing receivers at this point and it was really close enough to go either way anyway.
Overall, yeah, I think this crew will be having a sitdown with the NFL braintrust. They made some bad calls both ways, but they seemed penalty happy and it felt like they wanted to make their mark on the game... I thought they did a good job of being questionable at best on some small things and missing some big ones. I thought the ref looked like a deer in the headlights a few times when he was talking to the teams or on the mic explaining a call.
