I think I just saved a bundle:confused3 I have off on Black Friday, so instead of Dw going out shopping all day, buying stuff just because she could save $5 bucks, we will be going to the Philly Zoo instead:cool1:

Need to save a few bucks for the WDW trip the following week:lmao:

did anyone hear from don??? theres no way he can be killing that many spiders, no way!! but if he is, we'll have to come up with some kind of an award, or a statue of some kind.:cool2:

So I just realized that this is post #500, and in the tradition of dedicating milestone posts, here is my dedication to the members of the Dis Dads Club.

I would like to thank the members of this club for accepting me as I am, and for all of the members in the way everyone treats each other with respect and equality. I think the recent exchange around different approaches to Santa Claus was the most shining example of how this group operates. One member had a legitimate question that in a "normal" setting would trigger defensiveness and ridicule, here the members answered the questions directly and without bias. Even though there were different approaches to the subject everyone gave each response proper respect and the complete lack of judgment on the subject is typical of this group.

So again thank you for being the open, honest, scattered, quirky, supportive, derisive, and just all around great group of dads where we can all relate to common experiences and discuss those that are not common with respect.

Now, pull my finger... sorry, I couldn't resist....

Good luck to your wife in her interview.

Thanks I really want this to happen... (cause I don't want to worry how we are going to pay the bills and go to Disney again) ahah

You are welcome anytime. I too had a bad early WDW trip - teenager, alone with parents, few hours in Epcot only, during SPRING Break. I was able to ride 3 rides and quickly walk through the countries (no stopping, no food). I thought - where is the magic? Then, when I went to MK with my two daughters (3,1) and have found it every year since.

Yeah I haven't wrote about it yet in the tr but this A Thanks to Those That Make This Park Shine has been my really what the trip was over and over. Keep in mind, it was written for the college board audience. This has been a strange year for me. I wouldn't call it mid-life crisis, may be more almost mid-life wake up call. Friend of mine are have health issues. None of them are getting married anymore, a few of them are divorced. Doctor is getting on my case rather than saying things check out. Then they whole thing about family means a ton. I once told the guys I played shooters with that I was going to teach my kid how to trash talk and all that (cussing included). Then the first time it happened, I nearly lost flipped out. I still think and feel manly, but I swear I have cried more. In fact, I need to go watch some SEC football cause just thinking about this is weird....

AAAAATTT!!! Not so fast....You posted...your in.

Let the Hazing commence!!!

Bring it! Never been one to shy from fun!

Welcome to the dads club! As you can see, we have strict membership requirements. :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

Indeed, think I'll wait for the number till after I get done writing the pre-trip.

Welcome!!! And good luck to the Commander of Marital Affairs:thumbsup2

Isn't that the truth....I love that saying, " I Run This House...coming dear!

Glad you stopped in. Welcome! I guess we'll see you again in about a month or 2 after the holiday rush.

Naw, I work late hours... but if you don't it may start paying for my next DCL cruise with the family.

WELCOME FASTPAKS!!!! just to warn you, i see you have a trip report in progress. we like to visit.:lmao:

I could use a little testosterone in my threads.

In fact, I feel like this today and well its a man's world:

Does it smell like victory?

I just bought one of those $1 flarp things. Where you press it, pull it and it just makes tons of farts sounds. My son went into the ladies room with my wife and sat outside the stall just "ripping" them.. If I could have been a fly on the wall. hahah.:rotfl:

Now, pull my finger... sorry, I couldn't resist....

:lmao::lmao::lmao: That's how you end that kind of post:thumbsup2

Does it smell like victory?

Why yes, yes it does...:upsidedow

That's a good one...I'll be adding it to my stash:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

On another note,

I caught 15 bass (largest was 4.5 pounds, smallest was about 1.5) in our nearly 76 degree weather today..:cool1:

So up until my most recent trip to the World, I was certain I was NOT a D* parks fan. Mostly, because of a bad childhood experience. I have been lurking, reading, or may be its the fact I need another hobby I can start but feel its my right as a MAN not to finish it. Surprisingly as I read the "LAW", I gotta a good kick out of it, then realized I may just fall into this category. (I have this watch that is a Mickey one, a complete favorite!)

Couldn't agree more. :thumbsup2

Less than a month to go to we land at Fort wilderness for two weeks and tonight after 10 year of marriage, I realized I am trophy husband. :rotfl2: That was the same reaction of the wife

Now, pull my finger.

Have at it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwhHmDy-t1Y

I hope those that are seeking get a job. My wife has an interview today and it is the difference in paying bills and vacation and pay check to pay check. I'm trying to manage expectations. But I'm tired of not talking about it because it could jinx it. Those in the travel industry working, I feel your pain. I'm a FedEX driver and pretty soon my life will become a mess as the race to Christmas starts. Anyway, thought I would drop in. Say Hi and may be before too long join up!

Welcome. I think that you'll find this is a pretty cool group to hang out with.

Howdy Dads, been a while, still looking for work but enjoying every minute with my girls. We do have something pretty darn big in the works and need some good vibes and prayers our way. My wife is interviewing for an amazing job in Indiana. I know, I know, are we crazy, moving from Sunny South Florida (only 3 hours from Disney) to cold Indiana? The answer is, Yes we are....It's time for a new adventure, and, if she gets this job, I will officially be a full time stay at home dad, taking the pressure off of finding work. So, please, please, please, lately, the big guy upstairs hasn't really been answering my prayers, so maybe if we hit him from all sides he'll hook me up.

Hoping for positive things from the interview.

And, this is an historic occasion: my first multi-quote. :woohoo:

And in the blockhead household, DS got his first ever stitches last night. He fell and caught his knee on the corner of a concrete basketball pad when he was at a birthday party and got cut up pretty good. Just got 2 stitches, but the cut was right in the bend of his knee and we thought it would be best to have him patched up rather than seeing the cut separate and bleed every time he bent his knee. Also didn't have a shot to numb the area. They put some kind of topical junk on there that numbed the cut and surrounding area. The doc came in and said "well, let's see if this will work." She put the needle through for the first stitch, gave DS a look and said, "did you feel that?" DS said "no." She tied the first one off, put the needle through for the second and tied it off and we left. Now, he woke up about midnight in HUGE pain, but we gave him some ibuprofen and he finally made it back to sleep about an hour later.

Other than that, it was a pretty normal day.......:cool2:

I figured out how to do the ticker thing:cool1:

:woohoo: pictures are next!!!! i had a computer class on how to load pics from dd. i tried like peanut butter to get it but i was way off.:lmao: any questions on computers, just ask the kids. shes clickin away and im, whoo whoo, slow down!! in trying to write it all down.:lmao: it took me 11/2 years to multi quote.:lmao: im down to 8 days 15hours!!!!:woohoo:

what,no don yet????? i hope he didnt have a heart attack killing spiders!! hes not as young as he use to be!!:lmao:

Bump!!!!

[/Tirade] You mean this group of Chatty Kathys actually allowed the DDC thread to roll of the first page!!! I know I’ve been AWOL for a little while, but that’s just not right. And just what are we going to do when all y’all start heading off to the world in a week or two? [/Tirade]

It’s ok… I’m better now… So… Anyway… What’s up? I’ve been so swamped by work and various other travails that I haven’t been able to even keep up (and I do feel mightily bad about that :headache:). I’d relate a relevant story if I had one, but all the peanut butter that’s been clogging up my DIS time also suffers from being stunningly boring. [sighhhh…:sad1:] Well tomorrow starts a new week and hopefully I’ll get more of a chance to check in from time to time. Hearing from the rest of you guys regularly actually makes it easier to get through another week of work. And with that, I guess there’s really only one thing more to possibly say, and that would be: “CRUD”

Oh yah… and: “Pull my finger” :lmao:

WOW you guys move fast. I have been really busy the last few weeks, but it has been worth it. My little guy started wrestling and went from crying and having to leave the first night to winning 1st place in the final tournament, and even joining the actual youth wrestling team versus just the city recreation program. I am so proud, I even put a video on facebook and now out to buy a link wire for my video camera so i can burn him a DVD of his matches.

I have also just turned in my final assignement to complete my degree 15 years in the making. It feels so good to finally finish my degree, and have something to show for all the hard work.

The best part will be the additional family time that I will now have.
