Gentlemen,
My wife has made me a bet! If I can get below 230lbs (at 250lbs) before my 43rd b-day (March 13th) then she will pay for the ENTIRE trip herself. But if she can get below 200lbs then I have to pay for the airfare myself. Other then starving myself or consulting a Bariatric Surgeon. Any suggestions. Strict Dole-whip diet? Low-carbs/low-fat LeCellier diet?

It all depends on how much time you have to devote to the diet. If it depends heavily on counting calories/carbs/fat and you have a hectic schedule, forget it. The G.I. Diet (by Rick Gallop) is a pretty good one that deals more with what you should avoid than how much you can have. Everything is categorized into either Green, Yellow, or Red categories. The goal is to avoid the red and yellow items and focus on the green, the closer you follow it, the more success you'll have.

Hey guys. Just wanted to share a couple of pics from my time here at the World yesterday and today.

Yesterday I really enjoyed the Hawaiian BBQ sandwich at Earl of Sandwich.

I love me some EoS! I haven't tried that sandwich yet... I think I will have to try that one NEXT WEEK when I am there!!!

I'm Chad, my wife's name is Robin and we have two kids, Joey (14) and Caitlyn (10). I live in Shelbyville, KY (which is about 15 miles east of Louisville). I'm a DIEHARD UK fan.....GO BIG BLUE!!!!

Welcome back! I work for UK far east of you, but being an academic mercenary I have I have allegiance to (in chronologic order) Big East, SEC, Ivy League, ACC, Big 12, and the Big 10. On any given weekend I can probably find some team that I have a connection to that has won. GO SOMEBODY!!!

CRUD. Wish I had a ticker.

I found counting calories to work great for me. I use calorieking.com to keep track. I went from 240 to 219 in 3+ months. No exercising... just counting my calories.

I'll have to check out the G.I. diet. I find it to difficult to keep up with counting calories. I'm trying to just to watch what I eat and exercise regularly but need a little more structure.

Just spent a couple of hours with Brody (dadio) - awesome guy, but then really, of course he is...he's a DDC guy! Pic to follow later. We went to DHS to ride RnR (his family stayed @ the resort to swim). Then we hit ToT and the Great Movie Ride. On the bus now headed to DTD via OKW.

I think you are in the lead. ::yes::

Unless Dave has you beat?

Thanks for the input, guys. I appreciate all the responses.

And Pratt, I use sparkpeople.com to track my daily caloric intake. If you have an iPhone, they have an app, so you can update on the road/away from home. I love it because just about everything you could possibly eat is stored in their directory. Now, it will also create a diet plan for you, as far as what to eat each day, but I follow my own diet. The cool thing is after a while, it will start to figure out your tastes and start suggesting meals based on what you like.

Right now.....the only time I have planned for the East Coast is the South East Coast in Hilton Head in June...who knows after that....It seems like you and I are always in the same places at the same time but never have managed to meet up in person LOL:cool1:

I am very sure I WILL NOT be in Hilton Head in June. I'll be working like a DOG. pluto:

We WILL meet someday... I'll just have to keep buying my wife flowers so I can steal one to give to you when the meeting happens. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

a Friend of mine is currently doing the hCG drops? (or whatever they are). Apparenlty, it's this wacky diet of hard-core calorie/diet, with these supplemetal drops. he went from 285 to 270 in a little over a month?

I think St. Louis University is a CUSA school, right? If so, HOMETOWN Cheering! (Go Mizzou for the alma mater)

I was supporting a friend of mine by reducing my calories, and there's a "Lose it!" app for the iPod touch that I found really helpful. It had restaurants as well as grocery store food, AND you can make your own stuff. Plus, if you set your goal, it'll tell you how many calories you should eat per day. Then if you go over for a day, you get this big RED bar, like the screen is yelling at you.

good luck, though. My personal advice would be to pick ONE diet, or ONE method, and not try to do the calories AND high protein AND this AND that. "The Experts" always say "diet & exercise" but pick a specific program and stick to it, regardless of what the well-intentioned advice you may pick up from coworkers or discussion boards may say... :rolleyes1.
