Well sorry. I'm no help. Last year insread of a resort vacation I took my family to a house we rented in the mountains for two weeks. We had to drive 20 miles to the nearest cell phone signal. After a few days I actually stopped reaching for my blackberry. But then, I'm not very tech savvy. Good luck with the tech problem.

did you go to the poconos??

Sorry don't really know. We were in the area of Jim Thorpe. I'm kind of vauge on the details but that could be due to the fact that it was a boy scout trip. Lots of people horsing around. One of the older scouts in another raft tried to steal my hat and ended up grabbing the croakie that was holding my $450 presription Oaklies on. He still hasn't apologized. Otherwise it was a pretty good trip. we also went rafting in the Adirondacks on the Hudson. That wqas a real nice day.

Didn't know that though I should have. 20 years ago when my wife and I were newlyweds her Father sent us there on a Travel Agent comp trip. He had his own agency and my wife was listed as an employee. We had to sit through these chamber of commerce presentations and all we wanted to do was hang out in our room. Ahhhhh, memories :):upsidedow

i dont know why i didnt think of this before. as most know, i can barely turn the computer on much less anything else. this up coming trip to okw, there are 3 laptops going and from what i can remember, theres are only two jacks in a two bedroom. is there a "splitter" type of thing like a phone jack that i can plug into one jack and be able to plug in two lap tops? (stop laughing, i have no idea.):lmao: ive been looking around but who plugs there computer into the wall anymore?:confused3 okw doesnt have wifi and i couldnt hook up a router if you gave me 3 million dollars to do it. any ideas????

I don't know if anyone has answered you but you can buy a router for about $30 dollars that allow 5 computers to plug into one plug, I hooked ours up at home and it was no harder than pluging the computer into the wall. I pictured having to load software and everthing else but it was just plug and play. I also think you can get a cheap and small wireless one for about the same price. Apple has one that is about the size of a deck of cards and is secure, but it runs about $100.00.

I will check on the brand and let you know but we bought a cheapy from Wally World. I was really surprised with how small it was.

I can imagine one for the whole house can take a little bit more skills than I have.

And If you don't get it to work the first four times then it must be broken, because you know you hooked it up right. :rotfl2:

Yup, as a member in good standing with the club you are entitled to any and all catch phrases and running bits ("crud", "peanut butter", Don's lack of trip reports, etc, etc)

I still need an explanation on this peanut butter thing.:confused3 Please don't make me read the last month of posts to figure it out. I already posted "Crud" since resurfacing yesterday so I wouldn't have to read it all.

It was probably a wireless one which requires you to set up your security on it so the signal can't be picked up and used by just anybody. It is also possible to turn off the wireless signal and just hook up your laptops directly by cable to the router and then you don't need to worry about other people using your signal :thumbsup2

Peanut Butter: The family friendly replacement for any word not deemed to be family friendly.

Example: That Mother Peanut Butter cop gave me a ticket.
Example: I got the Peanut Butter kicked out of me.
Example: In the dead of winter in Ft. McMurray it is PEANUT BUTTER Cold. (where I grew up - northern part of Canada)

Hope that helps.

I can't believe they get that much for a peanut butter beer, I have to buy how many, Oh peanut butter:lmao:

Chris,

If you know what parks you will be in the day/night list them on the Dec thread, then we can figure out when we meets or events:woohoo:

Middlepat explained it clearly, but just to add to what he said it is now a Man Law and this is a link to Emma's Dad introducing us to this wonderful concept.

I've pretty much decided that the next time that I go somewhere that only has one wall port, I'm taking my wireless router from home. It is already secured, we are already setup on it, and it would allow as many connections as I decide. Port on the Router that normally goes to the modem would go to the wall port.

Congrats to the Phillies fans out there who live to fight another day. I'm a Cubs fan but have always liked the Phils since you gave us Ryne Sandberg. (Thanks again, by the way.)
