Interesting first Sunday in the DIS Dads Fantasy Football League. There are still two NFL games tomorrow, but right now, Jasmine's Necklace and the Small World Singers are really taking their opponents to the woodshed.

By the way, the logo for the Small World Singers is Ogie Oglethorpe from Slapshot. What that has to do with Small World, I have no idea.

Some games are still up for grabs and Monday night will be key.

Wow, Sunday was a rough day for me... only got 3 games right in the pick'em league. That's why I don't gamble, I hate picking with a spread. Still licking my wounds this morning. I need Phillip Rivers to throw about as much as Peyton did tonight and Ray Rice to develop a severe case of fumble-itis if I'm going to have a shot at a W this week.

Hi all, heard about this thread on the podcast. I understand the question about the hassle from others around us. I was a single dad with both boys in college and going to WDW solo. Talk about looks from a very few folks at WDW.

I am Dave. I live in Sterling, VA, west of DC in northern VA. Grew up in Salem Co, NJ, go EAGLES. First trip to WDW in Feb 1973 at 18 years old. DVC owner, proposed to DW at Crystal Palace. I have 2 sons ages 35 and 33. Have back to back DCL cruises in Nov. 2 nights at AKV before cruises. Have an Alaska cruise in May. The bigger Disney fan in house in more ways than one. I meet way too many of the items in post one. LOL I have tendency to post off and on.

I can see I missed quite a bit in the last few days. Dave Z - Glad to see you finally earned membership to the OWNAGE club I can't believe Fed put the kibosh to the entertaining act The sand must really be getting to him (i hear there is chaffing involved )

I heard my name on the podcast! It's very awesome that the DDC was brought up and openly discussed on the podcast. Perhaps more men will come to find this "support group" because of it. But I must say that I am not pleased with how Pete originally asked the question the first time around. He did end up re-stating his question in a more PC way later... "Is it tougher for a straight guy to be a Disney fan than it is for other demographics?" Still... he did not have to include the adjective, "straight". As other dads have mentioned, what does that have to do with it? Regardless, there may actually be many men out there who would not display their affection for the big mouse for fear of teasing or ridicule, but not for those men who actually frequent this board. Anyway... I'm very glad we choose to accept each other as we are... and share the love of Disney!

In other news... DW and I spent the weekend taking everything out of DD's room and then painting the walls a new color. Gone with the cotton candy pink! Hello royal blue! If you have read my previous TR, you know that DD is into Silvermist. So now we are trying to get a water theme thing going on in her room. Still have more to do, but it should turn out pretty good. Yes... I am working on my TR for this year.

Best thing so far about playing fantasy football: DW was flipping around TV channels last night and as she was about to flip off of ESPN, I said "Hey, you can't turn it! I have two of those guys on my fantasy team. She gives a look that was half disgust/half pity. Either way, she tossed me the remote and went back to her laptop.

Got the call last night around midnight from Seattle that my wife's grandmother passed away. Can you say ROADTRIP? We head out today driving from Denver to Seattle. Funeral is on Thursday then the bro in law and I will be driving a U-haul back from there. So Ill give a preemptive CRUD until I check back in next weekend. Disdad's have a great week!!!

Good morning fellas, today started out with the alarm not going off.. so I was late to work.. then I could not find my work keys.. wife said she moved them to another location in the vehicle..

So now I'm sitting in class with all of the worst kids at the school trying to gather myself, and get it going...

Busy week as always for me.. school, football practice... personal training.. and a game this Thursday..

I think you've mentioned it before, but what kind of kids do you teach? A good friend of mine teaches in a "last chance" school where it's all kids that have been expelled from other schools.

I've gotten that "look" many times.

Instead of fighting it, my wife reluctantly accepts it and tries to learn the names of the players on my fantasy teams. SHe'll even check my scores and give me updates if I am not near a TV or computer.

Now I have a Droid so I can check pretty much everywhere (except on Pirates of the Carribean - the reception was terrible in there). Just kidding - electronics are away on vacation except for emergencies and the WDW Lines program on the phone. THat app kicked butt.

I looked down upon the I-95 and I-4 interchange on Friday as I flew home from Miami and thought about the next time that I would see it in a few weeks. : Of course it will be from a different angle and just slightly slower speed. I just need to find some time to start packing for that trip instead of work trips.
