I had to post this where someone would appreciate it. I DJed a wedding tonight and the grooms name was.... wait for it.... wait for it..... Chuck Norris! Every time I said his name I wanted to start laughing. While the best man was doing the toast he broke out a Chuck Norris reference of when Chuck does pushups he actually pushes the world down. I wish I taped it on my phone- it was a classic... although not one person in the crowd thought it was funny. :confused3

I can kind of understand the groom and his immediate family maybe being a bit turned off by it... I mean I'm sure he's heard something like that once or twice over the years. On the same note I'm sure the best man has busted his chops about it before and it is to be expected. I don't see how everybody else wouldn't think it is funny though. My first thought was that I'm glad the toast comes AFTER the speech cause I'm sure champaign burns coming out the nose. How old was the groom? Was he old enough that it is a coincidence type thing or were his parents fans of Walker Texas Ranger?

By the way... heading to a wedding in a couple of hours myself... My sister is getting married! My parents were ok for my wedding (probably ready to get rid of me) but my mom is a little emotional about losing her little girl. If anybody has to be comic relief the little man and me are ready to step up and act like fools to make Grandma smile.

Duplicate... oops.

Hey guys - my DW has checked in, printed her boarding pass, and is coming home tomorrow! I'm pretty excited. Now just on to the big house cleaning in the morning. She's been doing so much cooking and cleaning out west the past week and a half, there's no reason she needs to do it here so quickly. My DD is just beside herself with excitement.

Now perhaps after she's back, I can get my evenings (after the kids are in bed), and instead of getting back to work for my employer, I can focus on starting that little TR from my recent Daddy Daughter Adventure...

Don't worry about the TR..Take care of your lady!!!:laundy:

first off...Welcome Home Fed!!! and thank you!

second....sorry I could touch base with the other dads that were @ the world last wk...being the first 'big' trip with the family, it was a bit crazy...when we get a cpl trips under our belt, I'm sure the pace will be slowing down....(it better be) or I will need a break when we get back!
All was good. crowds were good...longest lines were @ DHS @ rockin roll coaster and TSM...did TSM at the end of the night( about 20-25 min wait)...coaster was about 30 min, but everyone did not want to ride so we went to TSM.....the only other time ride times were long. was the EMH @ AK in the eve.....was way crazy...I made our ADR first with out looking @ EMH, and seems as tho I missed them all doh! but I think in reality it worked out as we seem to avoid the crowds.longest wait times were about 20 min....we did not do the halloween party, which once again may have bypassed the people...all in all great first trip on property....l like AKL, but not the loooong bus rides anywhere..SSR was great good view of DTD, we will be there in June.....just found out gotta take a few unpaid days(5) between oct and the end of the yr, wonder if we could squeeze another trip in??? Hummm...
Very Proud of my youngest (6yo) rode everest 2x, tower of terror, BMR...said everest and ToT was his faves, even tho he started to cry when the doors shut to ToT :confused3...

woot ownage!

I'm glad the Fed is home, but I don't think he's going to be checking online for a while. I think his DW is putting the DS to bed, so Mike can go out and check on his rod and tackle and put a shine on the spinners,:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::thumbsup2
When you come up for air Mike, Welcome Back!

Sounds like it was a nice trip. Glad you enjoyed it. :thumbsup2

Those "looong" bus rides happen many places, not just AKL. Many resorts have multiple stops before your final destination - AKL is only making 2 stops both at the same resort, just different buildings. As an example, we stayed at AKV in January - in Kidani. When we went to the MK, sure we stopped first at Jambo House, but then were on our way to the MK. It took about 20 minutes, and was a direct shot - resort to the MK bus stop.

> > > > > When we stayed at VWL in March, we wanted to go to DTD to see a movie: stop 1 was the Poly; stop 2 was the Grand Flo; stop 3 was Typhoon Lagoon; stop 4 was DTD Marketplace; stop 5 was DTD Pleasure Island, and the movie theatre. All told, the trip took 47 minutes, and we almost missed our movie's opening. The only saving grace were all those idiotic previews they show nowadays. (Whatever happened to 3 previews and starting the film? :confused3 Now it's like 8 previews, 2 commercials and an ad for the concession stand.)

> > > > > A couple of years ago we stayed at the Boardwalk. Anywhere you wanted to go via bus, which is anywhere but the Studios or Epcot, meant return trips which included stops at the Dolphin, the Swan & the Beachclub before getting back to the Boardwalk. We learned that lesson pretty quick and started getting off the bus at the Dolphin, and then just hoofing it back over the bridge to the BWV.

> > > > > Each resort is definitely unique. Some are closer in proximity to some stuff, while others are closer to other stuff. In the end - everything at WDW is far from something, and transportation issues will always be a big part of the trips. There's no question why they always say to please allow at least an hour for transportation, when making ADR's or other types of reservations.

Hey, Fed! Welcome home, Buddy, and thanks for all you have done for our great nation! Glad you made it back safely! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
