still waiting to hear from the doctor at wills eye in philly.:confused3 waiting got to be the worst!!:confused3

well here's to hope, that the wait is for all good news.

than to top it off they have every highway ripped up between me and 8th strret.:sad2: we are gonna leave at 4am what ever time her appointment is and just hang out in the city till its time. i dont want to get stuck in all the traffic.

Yes Dave you and I will be right next to each other and as of now Barry will be with us.He is staying in the tree houses.Thought he is wait-listing AKV.If all stays the same it should be very easy for us 3 to meet up,Heck we could all ride the bus together:rotfl2:
I saw you are requesting a golf course view,When I was there on my past Dec trip we had a room right on the 7th green which is the par 3 island green.was nice to sit on patio and be able to watch the golfers.I was supposed to be working on my business things but somehow the golfers keep on distracting me.

I promise I won't crop dust you!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Morning... err, afternoon guys.

Well today was a crazy sort of day, even worse than trying to get those coveted ADR's for Cindy's Table... today was Summer Camp Reservation Day for 2011. I totally felt like a teenager again pulling an all-nighter, though I did "cheat" and take an extended nap last evening before getting up at 11:30 to leave the house by 12:15 am to get down to our Scout Center. I got there by 1 am, and thankfully was the first in line. Then the waiting began, as the doors didn't open til 6 am, and the staff didn't begin actually taking those reservations until 8:30 am. Talk about crazy, but I wasn't the only one. #2 arrived around 1:30ish, #3 around 2:15ish, #4 around 2:30, #5 around 3:00, #6 around 3:15 and on it went until there were about 25 us waiting at 6 am for the doors to open. More were there by the time they actually opened up the reservation process.

Taking such a large contingent of Scouts (75-85) and Adult leaders (20-25) we REALLY NEED to have a certain set of campsites (6 in all), and we really WANT our specific week (#3 out of 10). SO - you go early and sit/stand in line. Thankfully yesterday's rain had moved out of the area. Several of the leaders there had done this for 5- 10 years and others like me, it was their first time. But I'll be back next year and in years to come since that is my area of specialty within our Troop's leadership.

I thought of a lot of you though, as I sat there with my portable DVD player watching Monty Python & the Holy Grail.

I got back home again around 10 am after it was all said and done, and then pretty much went to take a nap. I was bleary-eyed and exhausted, but very happy to be able to get that coveted reservation - knowing the Troop is taken care of for one more year... kind of like those who get in to see Cindy at her table, or that F! Dinner Package, or even score tickets for MNSSHP on Halloween night. Now I just have some catching up to do with all of my various threads I follow. :rotfl:

BTW Chris - I haven't mentioned it, but I REALLY appreciate your "This Day in Disney" history posts to the DISDads.com blog! :thumbsup2

well, the doctor called, we have to be at wills eye next wednesday at 8am. she is seeing a reconstruction, plastic surgen. shes a bit up set but she can except it. she sees nothing, no light no shadows nothing out of her left eye so at least if she loses her eye, she will lose no more vision. its just the shock and of course scared. when we go out to eat she sits so the waitress is on her right etc... i always walk on her left so if she walks into me its no big deal. its hard, some people look at her as being rude in some settings (like world of disney) may bump you or cut you off but its not being rude, she cant see you. she says im sorry, i didnt see you. more than once in a crowded area. ill keep you guys posted when we find more out.

Dave I have to apologize for my previous comment.I have not been on in a long time and just jumped in commenting without out going back and reading previous posts.I thought you were just coming into Philly for a regular doc visit.I did not realize how she was.I might have come across sounding rude by saying we could do breakfast or lunch and I do apologize for it .I should have read back before posting.

Must have been a big weekend for it, 3 other friend's kids had their 1st on the weekend. Congrats on the big event!:thumbsup2.!

Thanks. There were 2 other churches in our town doing them the same weekend. We went out to eat at O'Charley's afterwards (daughter's choice) and we beat other families as well. She got ketchup on her white dress, but that's ok, she was so happy as well.

Well called member services today to try to change resorts for our Dec trip and no luck ,they dont have what I need.Looks like SSR will be our place of stay. But hey guess one can never complain about staying anywhere in Disney!!!

We own at SSR and think it's a pretty cool resort. So, far my favorite DVC resort is Vero Beach, but we plan on visiting all of them. December is a difficult time to get a resort.

We like SSR, will be even better once the new pool area is complete. We were just hoping to get an Epcot resort for the walk into the countries .We like to do the story tellers at Christmas time and we only do a couple each time to spread it out.

I have mixed feelings about the new pool. Originally, I thought Wow! I saw a design for the new pool (although don't remember where or how accurate) and it would be fun and not have to walk to Springs from the Paddock. But, then I remembered our last trip when we stayed in the Paddock. It was May, and I guess no one really knew about the Paddock pool or thought it was too boring or thought it would be too crowded, so DW, dds (8,5) and I had our own private pool. I'm sure the new pool will be fun.
