i have a ba flag hanging in my garage!!! glad to be here!!:thumbsup2 a few years ago LTC james evanko lived on the next block from me and he would jog by my house and just shake his head.:sad2: LTC evanko flew slot for the thunderbirds in the bid 90s. hes now retired. hes older than i am but we both went to nazareth and i had both his mom and dad as teachers in high school.realy cool guy if you ever get a chance to talk to him.:thumbsup2
I'm sure if my son gets this assignment, he'd like to meet him!

Wow! Very cool! Congrats to your son! Do you think he'll give you a ride? :scared1:
I don't think so, even if he does get the assignment. He's not a pilot; he's an Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class (E-5). If he gets it, he'll be part of the flight support crew. I hope he gets a flight, though!

I'm looking at the VistaPrint site now. It looks like a hat can be had for about $12 and a T-shirt for around $7, plus shipping. They even have sales! I don't know yet what the quality is. We can upload a logo if we can all agree on one. It looks like they have over 500 designs on the site already.

Hmmm...seems we have now inspired the creation of a DIS Moms thread. Is there no limit to our power and influence? :worship: I wonder what kind of WOMAN LAWS we'll be seeing from them...

I came across that last night and clicked on it - espionage. They seemed to be running on empty.

Not sure if you are going to get this bunch to agree on a logo. I think we tried in DDII but without much success. Perhaps someone should just select or create one, without any copyright issues, and go with that. I think the shirt/ hat that reads Dis Dads Club would be great, regardless of the logo. I'll defer to the senior dad leadership on this.

That van definately says "I really enjoy embarassing my kids!" I like it.

I like that!:lmao:

That was just one of many designs on their site. I didn't even look through half of them. I only spent a few minutes there so I don't even know much about ordering minimums and shipping costs. We can also upload our own design. I thought we had one earlier? It looks like they also do T-shirts.

Thanks!

News Flash! Our Navy son received a call and will be setting up an extended interview with the Blue Angels sometime in April!!! He has to go down to Pensacola and spend 4 or 5 days meeting the crews and working with them at various jobs. If he can handle it to their satisfaction, and if he fits in personality-wise, he may have a good shot at joining them for a tour (I'm not sure if it's 18 months or 3 years). The opening would either be as a Plane Captain (set up) or in the Paint Shop. He's really excited. He was told the competition will be very strong. I already told him, if he makes it, I want a Blue Angels Flight Crew hat! ;)

Very cool.:thumbsup2

Yes, and we've also above page 200... only about 1/5 (+/-) of the thread to go...

Has there been any talk of the next thread starter? Stopher has to be in the running, but Don is doing such a great job maybe he should continue. Any Volunteers?

It kind of depends on how fast we burn through the next 45-60 pages. Don leaves for WDW in what, 32 days... so if we go through it before then, he can certainly go again since he did such a fine job with this version...it was so nice, clean and large when we started with it... but if not, and we need to start the next one while he's away, then I don't mind doing it.

:worship::worship:

I was up until just past 2 a.m. working on that hard drive. I finally got a Windows machine running pro-level data recovery software to "see" the drive and start the recovery process. It was a bit trickier than usual, because the failed drive was from a Linux machine formatted ext2.

I put the drive in an external enclosure and first tried connecting it to another Linux machine, but it failed when it tried to mount the drive. So I tried connecting the external to a Mac, and the Mac couldn't mount it either. Finally, I connected it to the Windows box, and the recovery software could find it. It's running cluster-by-cluster recovery now, and it looks like the most important data will be recovered.

What software are you using for data recovery?

wow about 50 pages to catch up on....:surfweb:
Welcome back! Where have you been?

I would like to Join the Disney Dad's Club...

Went last night and got my Soft serve machine out from the cabinets.Put the bowl in the freezer to get it ready. Was going to order me up a bag of the Dole whip and try it out but got real busy and was unable to order it today.I will try to get my order in tomorrow.I am curious to see how this will work out. From what I read on the web site all you do is add water.I want to see how the machine does freezing it:confused3So I figure it should be a few days to get the mix then I will be good to go.I will take pics and show the outcome for all Dads thinking of buying.

Good Job :thumbsup2 I'm also lost on what you did,:confused3 but I have no clue how PCs work.

I'm a little nervous when it comes to the Dec TR, I have no idea even how to post a pic:lmao:

MiJo: That's awesome about your son. Good luck to him. :wizard:

pwiedower: Welcome to the club. :welcome:

The comments about the Dis Mom's were killing me. I mentioned this to DW and she laughed out. :lmao:
