Why do you think they spray the winner with champagne, coke, pepsi or whatever liquid he is sponsoring? When you gotta go, you gotta go.

Is it just me, or does anyone else root for the Coke driver in the Pepsi 400 or a Quiznos car at the Subway 600? :lmao:

It's Official!:cool1: Booked Dec 5-11 Dis Dad trip today. Staying at All Star Movies, 7 day hoppers, 7 day DDplus:goodvibes:dancer:party:

See you guys going in Dec there!:wave2:

Right on!

Candy definitely will come last. I'M excited for the special character meet & greets, but characters are actually one of the things about which I am mildly concerned for this trip. DS3 has recently developed a severe aversion to "characters". We were at McDonald's on a night when Ronald McDonald made a visit, and he wouldn't leave DW's lap until the clown was gone. I later asked him casually if he'd like to meet a big Mickey Mouse or Goofy, and he said, "NO WAY!"

I'm hoping this is a brief phase, otherwise I'm probably going to have to do a LOT of replanning of this trip. :p

I went through the same thing with DS on his first visit (just before he turned 3). We tried taking him to Chik-fil-A to see the cow on kids night and he was terrified. The best thing I can recomend is to go to the character meal at the Garden Grill on your first day. Chip was the first character who came to our table, When he saw DS was freaked out he had DW and I touch his paw then pat him on the head, he spent about 5 minutes at our table slowly bringing DS up to touching his arm and petting him. By the end of the night DS was jumping up and hugging every character who went by. It really was one of those moments that sticks in my head when I look back on that trip.

Waiiiiiit. I take a short (10 week) break and come back to this? BAH! I've only got 9 or so months to write! I guess it's my own fault for missing it when it was last written.

I've been thinking for the last two months that there was someone else from Raleigh on here and could not remember who it was. Thanks for popping in to remind me I didn't imagine it!

I've never really thought of it that way. This may be a good idea for a drinking game :drinking1- everytime the opposing product leads a lap you take a drink. I guess the Bristol race would really knock you off your :littleangel:

This is too funny. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I may have to become a NASCAR fan just for this. I love an underdog. :lmao:

AirGoofy, for those of us who are not aware, who is the sponsor of the Bristol race?

I know this is off subject, but has anyone on here been to one of the ghost hunting tours near Orlando? I'm thinking about hitting one in March when we go down there. We had success at the St. Augustine lighthouse a couple of years ago.

What happened at the lighthouse...got me interested

I've done a few of the ghost tours at St. Augustine, never saw anything, they do know how to put a scare into you, Of course we did this after dinner and drinks at Harry's (main word drinks:lmao:)

Well, it's not the sponsor but the number of laps. The Daytona 500 is a 2.5 mile track, having to go 200 laps. Bristol is a 1/2 mile track, having to go 500 laps with very short lap times. Thus, imagine taking a drink every 15-20 seconds. This year's Bristol Cup sponsors are Food City and Irwin Tools. The tool competition is: DeWalt, Snap-on, Kobalt, Stanley, Northern, and Craftsman.

Let's go racing, er... drinking boys!

I was talking to a friend a work this morning, discussing - what else - Disney. I mentioned my upcoming trips in March and December. Then I got the question again.

"Doesn't it ever get old?"

I just smiled and and gave the standard reply:

"Never."

:thumbsup2

My boss has finally given up asking that question, we were planning software deployments for the rest of the year and she asked me what weeks I would be at Disney this year "so the releases don't conflict with whatever it is you do down there."

Amen to that! I was "just there" and can't wait to be back in 3 weeks. Wishing it were today!!!

:thumbsup2

For some reason, sitting in my cubicle day after freakin' day gets older a lot faster. Go figure! :surfweb:

Exactly!!! My office is nice, but no where near as nice as being at DL or WDW. I really need to find something better to do that doesn't infringe so much on my Disney time! :rotfl:

Speaking of Bristol...I only live about 25 miles from the place. At Christmas time :santa: they deck the place up with lights and you get to drive on the track for a little bit. Man those are some STEEP banks. DW is always like :scared1: with a death grip on the "OS" handle. and DS10 is like :woohoo:.

:lmao: Good times good times.

:lmao::lmao: I just had an image of you in a wood-paneled station wagon... on the track... pedal-to-the-metal... yelling "wooooooohoooooooo!!!!" :woohoo: :scared1:

Everyone asks me if I'm going to see Mickey again this year?

I was thinking of a minivan with the family dog's head hanging out the passenger window while redlining the odometer and hitting 85 mph!:drive:

I just became a member of this forum and saw this thread and just had to get in on the action! I checked the criteria for becoming a member of the Dis Dad's Club III and didn't even have to read past #1 to know that I found a group that I belong to! :lmao:

Just a little about me...I am from Bradenton Florida and have a beautiful wife and a great son. We go to Disney every chance we get and this year purchased the waterpark pass. We camp at Fort Wilderness at least once per year and then the other times we come we stay at various resorts. Our next trip is planned for April. We will be going to the water parks (if it warms up by then:laughing:) and to WDW. I look forward to contributing to this site and making the Dis Dad's Club proud! Now all I need is a Dis Dad's t-shirt :cool1:
