I just became a member of this forum and saw this thread and just had to get in on the action! I checked the criteria for becoming a member of the Dis Dad's Club III and didn't even have to read past #1 to know that I found a group that I belong to! :lmao:

Just a little about me...I am from Bradenton Florida and have a beautiful wife and a great son. We go to Disney every chance we get and this year purchased the waterpark pass. We camp at Fort Wilderness at least once per year and then the other times we come we stay at various resorts. Our next trip is planned for April. We will be going to the water parks (if it warms up by then:laughing:) and to WDW. I look forward to contributing to this site and making the Dis Dad's Club proud! Now all I need is a Dis Dad's t-shirt :cool1:

Glad you found us! And you used your first post to join the club... how cool! You are member # 424! :thumbsup2

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2

I am headed down next week, and plan to do a little shore fishing. Does anybody know where I can get current fishing report for lakes on the Disney property?

Also has anybody bought shiners while at WDW, if so how much and did they have bucket to carry them?

Thanks
SP

Has anyone used Tour Guide Mike who already had "Disney Experience"? Just wondering if it is really worth paying to have someone tell me I should go right to Toy Story Maina and get Fastpasses as soon as the park opens or if it actually contains good info.

I don't know anything about fishing at Disney, but I wanted to comment that it was nice to run into a fellow Jayhawk around here. Rock chalk!

I joined TGM specifically because I'd never been before. And I think his site is probably most useful for newbies like me. But there is info there that would be useful to veteran WDWers as well. His park of the day analyses are particularly useful and clearly presented.

One warning, I'm noticing that parts of his site are getting pretty badly out of date. I'm hoping that gets addressed soon, but it's pretty annoying at the moment.

My boss has finally given up asking that question, we were planning software deployments for the rest of the year and she asked me what weeks I would be at Disney this year "so the releases don't conflict with whatever it is you do down there."

Exactly!!! My office is nice, but no where near as nice as being at DL or WDW. I really need to find something better to do that doesn't infringe so much on my Disney time!

:lmao: No surprise, we're all on the same wavelength. I think I wrote in my last TR that the only reason I go to work is so I can pay for the next vacation. :woohoo:

I was thinking of a minivan with the family dog's head hanging out the passenger window while redlining the odometer and hitting 85 mph!:drive:

Given the modifications you've made to your minivan, I'm sure you would have a button to press that would spill cheese balls all over the pavement behind you to wreck the other drivers. :stir:

Spill Cheese Balls? Are you insane? Jelly beans, maybe. Candy corn certainly. Or those nasty little Circus Peanuts.:crazy2:
But dumping little orange balls of bliss? NEVER!

But you bring up a good point... maybe I could use the leftover dust that I usually wipe on my pants to make some kind of smoke screen. A delicious orange smoke screen. :scratchin:idea:

Welcome to the club! Do you tent camp or RV?

As long as you're making mods, why not just install an automatic cheese ball dispenser that delivers the cheese balls directly to the driver's mouth - thus avoiding the whole "cheesy fingers" issue entirely? Y'know, sort of like a cheese ball version of a beer helmet. :drive:

In Mid-Nov I came up with a plan to pay for the trip, and have no dents in the wallet. This is what I came up with.

I call it 12,000 Quarters = 3 Grand should be enough to cover it.
No quarters are to be spent, must be thrown into the bucket, if something comes to say $2.10, I'll give them $3 to get the quarters (even if I had the change on me)

I end up throwing in few bucks worth almost everyday.
Sounds crazy but they add up fast.:yay:

LOL... sitting here reading the thread and my wife sees this guy: :dancer: ... and says "He looks like he could be the Disney Fed guy!" :lmao: I give her a look like "Huh?"... and she replies "Well, it looks like a federal agent... dancing!" :cool2:

:lmao:

I was talking to a friend a work this morning, discussing - what else - Disney. I mentioned my upcoming trips in March and December. Then I got the question again.

"Doesn't it ever get old?"

I just smiled and and gave the standard reply:

"Never."

:thumbsup2

I couldnt agree more, never gets old here either!

Thanks - Just got back this weekend - we were there for 5 days/4 nights. First stay in a cabin at Ft Wilderness. Had a great time. I think I may be inspired to do my first TR. Will try to start it tonight.

Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do on here.....

Congrats, and have a great time! :thumbsup2

Welcome back Dave! I'll start the peer pressure: You know you want to do a Trip Report...all the cool people are doing it...you want to be cool, don't you? :cool2:

You still have a great shot at beating Don to the finish, and I'd say you have a shot at Nick, too! :lmao:

Hey its only been two weeks, besides, lets stay focused here gentlemen...its Don's TR we make fun of. :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

For some reason, sitting in my cubicle day after freakin' day gets older a lot faster. Go figure! :surfweb:

Tell me about it, thanks God for the Dis Dads club :surfweb:

I cave easily to peer pressure...and I love a competition! I'll start on the report tonight!

Yaay...more stuff to waste time at work doing!!:thumbsup2

That's an excellent point, my bad. Certainly, the orange circus peanuts are the proper choice to scatter like garbage behind you, as they seem to have been designed only for that purpose.

Hey, is that a moderator over in the corner, curled up in the fetal position?

3 grand cover trip????? not with my family.

What happened at the lighthouse...got me interested

Nothing happened in the lighthouse itself but in the museum caretakers house in the basement it sure did. I was alone in the basement and could hear a distinct sound of deep breathing, like someone sleeping or something. of course I looked for a heat vent or the likes of one and found nothing in the corner I traced the sound to. I then started asking if there was anyone that wanted to make their presence known, to touch me. Nothing happened in that corner but in the next corner, just when I was about to give up, something touched the underside of my arm as I was holding it out. Unmistakable touching. I really wasn't expecting it. I didn't see anything there though. My wife came down shortly after and as she came into the room, she turned around and said she had to leave and go back upstairs. I asked her why later and she said it felt like something was smothering her breathing. I asked if she felt anything else and she said, just that, and she was fine again when she went back upstairs. What's really interesting is that that corner where it happened was the same corner that on the second investigation by the Ghost hunters, which was later, is where they caught a very good thermal image of a man standing in that corner. I even said that when we watched it. Now that was really weird. We may go back again this year and do some EVPs when we go there.

Speaking of Bristol...I only live about 25 miles from the place. At Christmas time :santa: they deck the place up with lights and you get to drive on the track for a little bit. Man those are some STEEP banks. DW is always like :scared1: with a death grip on the "OS" handle. and DS10 is like :woohoo:.

:lmao: Good times good times.

Now, that is really freakin cool. Can anybody do it or do they limit it to TN residents? DW likes Opry Mills Mall. Perhaps I can talk her into a late night Christmas visit. I wonder if she would notice the detour?

I do the same thing in our house, we have one dollar and two dollar coins here as well and I put those in a jar and dont spend them. I actually got an US dollar coin this year, I meant to keep it but I spent it.

Long live the jayhawks!!! Have you been to any watch parties? They have expanded to a second location here and there are way more flags, stickers and shirts around STL. The second home of the Tigers

:lmao::lmao: I just had an image of you in a wood-paneled station wagon... on the track... pedal-to-the-metal... yelling "wooooooohoooooooo!!!!" :woohoo: :scared1:

Try a Red Chrysler T&C with the Disney Family Decals on the rear window. :lmao:

That's me! :thumbsup2

though I felt a little out of place not having a Earnhardt, Stewart, or Calvin peeing on somebodies number sticker. :lmao:

Nope...anyone can go...she might notice the 5 hour detour though. the trip takes you all over the property...down the Bristol Dragway (Thunder Valley)..finishing up on the BMS Track...they have like a mini-Fair setup in the pit area...Santa is there...pretty fun.
