Rafiki, Jeff & Mijo (btw, Mijo, in spanish means 'my son') I'm glad you guys enjoyed it, that kind of stuff has become something of a hobby for me, keeps me out of trouble. My first attempt at a Disney theme and am hoping that the final product will be as epic as the trip itself promises to be. I've made another 'trailer' that is more of a rough draft at this point, but I might post that one as is in the near future.

Emma'sdad, I'm not sure it's a must see, but it had gotten my girls & DW pumped up for the trip. So at the very least, it's served its purpose. I'm not expecting to win any "Oscar's" (pun fully intended - My name is Oscar, so......add Grandma as Grammy & our youngest Emily as Emmy, I've got all the awards I'll ever need.)

Capt. - The ariels where cheap, the 'budget' was blown on the two diva's. I can't say for a fact, but I believe those aeriels come from Epcot's Soarin', found a video on-line and went with it. I have to take the uploaders word for it because I've never been on soarin', it's been over ten years since I've been to WDW.

Yes, it's from Soarin'. I don't know if you did the cuts or not, but there is more to the attraction. And 320x240 on a computer is nothing compared to actually riding it. Your girls will love it! (if they are over 40". Otherwise, don't tell them about it:confused3)

What did you use to make it? I do my video editing (when i have time:rolleyes1) on my Mac with iMovie 09.

How cool would it be if they had a dinner for the boys. Like a Toy Story, Pirates :confused3or Star Wars themed dinner.:confused3

First off, welcome to the club!

I would have to assume that Disney had crunched the numbers and figured out that they make much more $$ off of the girls than they would off a "boy" themed restaurant.

That being said, I would totally go if they did have one. I'm also intrigued by "Gaston's Tavern" that is supposed to be in the new Fantasyland in 2012 or 13. Probably not character meal, but the theming should be outstanding!

As I promised a few pages ago, here is the writeup detailing how I added 3 additional 12 volt outlets to my Disney Cruiser (aka Minivan). Mine came with only 2 - the cigarette lighter in middle of the dashboard and a power outlet in the rear cargo area. Both were wired into the ignition - meaning that when the key was turned (off to on, on to start, on to off, etc) the outlets would lose power. So if a DVD player was plugged in, it would turn off and we would have to reset the movie. This was not going to work on a 22 hour drive from Wisconsin to Disney World.
So I ran up to my local O'Rielly Auto Parts store, purchased 3 outlets ($5 each), a spool of wire ($3) and an inline fuse ($10).
I put an outlet under each of the front seats. Please excuse the dog hair in the picture. I haven't had a chance to vacuum in a while:

And for good measure, I added one in an useless little cubby hole next to the steering wheel to plug my GPS into.
IMG_7429.JPG

To get constant power to these outlets, I had to run a wire directly from the battery. Or in this case, from the power distribution block right next to the battery. Note the red wire connecting to the gold nut.
IMG_7422.JPG

To prevent any problems, I put the all-weather in-line fuse in an easy to reach place.

With the cap closed

This shot is looking up from the driver's side floor under the dashboard. You can see the steering shaft on the right. I drilled a small hole through the white plastic cap that let me run the wire up to the battery. You can see where I split the wires to go to each of the outlets.
IMG_7425.JPG

I ran the one to the passenger's side under the dashboard. Then I pulled the door trim up to run the wire under the carpet and under the drivers seat to a pre-existing slit in the carpet.
IMG_7428.JPG

In the picture, the black wire is the "hot" wire from the battery, and the red is the ground. I snaked it under the seat to the bolt that holds the seat to the body.

So there - $30 and one afternoon later, and I have 3 constantly hot power outlets. Meaning 2 happy kids driving down to Disney World. :thumbsup2

Well, one is tall enough, the other not quite yet, but this trip is strictly for MK, we'll actually be doing two days there since one of those days will be Christmas Day and we probably won't get to do too much. We're only a 3 hour drive, so we'll probably be going quite a bit in the coming years and will have plenty of opportunities to take them to the other parks before they reach the "I hate my parents and don't want to be seen with them" age.

I did find a few other video's from inside of Soarin', but this one had the best quality of the bunch, plus, it was focused at the right spot when Tink shows up, which I thought was ideal for what I had in mind.

I use Roxio on a PC, I'd love to get my hands on a mac for this sort of application, but for the time being Roxio is good enough for me, especially the bundle package which comes with more than just video editing. The sound editing feature is cool, allowing me to shorten songs if they are too long or even remove profanity from others in order to make it more appropriate for the girls. It's very limited in what it can do, but I have learned ways to get around the limitations. Eventually, I'd like to upgrade to something more powerfule, but am concerned that I may not like the interface since I've become so accustomed to Roxio.

Hey guys...been missing for a few days...became sympomatic on Sunday...

Dr called in Tamaflu for me on Monday...been pretty much in the bed for the past few days.

Went to the Dr today...H1N1...pneumonia...twin ear infections...a fever that spikes and breaks spikes and breaks.

Throwing caution to the wind, here is a link to a little video I made in preparation for my girls first trip to Disney. Enjoy, I will probably disable the link in a few days. Enjoy.

pop a cool one for us and get safe home my friend!

It's official. :cool1: My wife and I agreed on going to Orlando the week Of March 29th for my birthday and my son's spring break. We are only doing one day at Disney this time. We wanted to do some of the other things we never do because of Disney like Seaworld, Universal, etc. I'm just happy to be going. I have been suffering from Disney withdrawls for 2 years now!

Hey it's him the creator of this fine thread. Good to see you back.:thumbsup2

Great news about the trip, one day for Disney, how do you pick which park. I think I would have to go with the Magic Kingdom, old faithful.

Have a great time.

lol...yeah I can literally wake up 90 minutes after the wife and still be ready before her...on vacation...at a theme park.

Take a shower, put your hair in a ponytail or wear a hat and let's go!

I was wondering if I was the only man that goes through that. I would love to make a Disney Rope Drop one day. I guess I'll have to do it on a Dad / Son trip.

My wife wants EPCOT and my son changes his 9 year old mind everyday with a new reason. We might have to try to sneak another Disney day in there somewhere. Right now it's EPCOT, Seaworld, Aquatica, Holyland Adventure with a trip to the Pirate's Dinner Show that night, and possibly Discovery Cove.

That's awesome news... and just like Nick was asking... HOW are you going to decide on which park??? I mean just one day?? :scared1:

:thumbsup2 Epcot's got my vote! The Flower and Garden show will be going on at that time.

I should have my Sea World visit on my TR by the time you leave! Still need to make it to the rest of the places you mention. I hear Aquatica is a zoo and you have to get there early just to get in the place. :confused3
