welcome back freezin!!! welcome to the driving club. when we left last sat. morning it was 75 at 3:30am at okw, we got home 161/2 hours later it was 38 and raining. we are going nov 30th thru dec11 next year. dw says " we have gone 6 times in 3 years, you can wait till dec2010." sunday morning i caught her on the ap web site looking at the contemp. to see what kind of pricing they have for this spring.:woohoo: she claims she was only messing around. i never, in 25 years, seen her looking into any disney room rates or anything because i beat her to it. glad you had a good time!!!:thumbsup2

LOL... something tells me you are going to have another trip counter for 2010.... :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Oh yeah... I pulled the trigger on the plane tickets! :cool1: April 27 - May 4th! now I just need to wait until they put the 4/3 deal out during those dates and I'll be booking CSR in a flash!:banana::banana:

Hey Guys,

Haven't been on in awhile - looks like a lot to catch up on. Just wanted to share that I booked our next trip last night. We're going to try out a cabin in Ft. Wilderness in Feb. Any other Dads ever stay in one before? If so, I'd love to hear any thoughts/comments.

Also - I saw some discussion about the origins of screen names. Well the way I got mine was back years ago signing up for my first AOL account or something, I asked for something like "SuperDave" but the name was already taken, so the system gave me something close. It's a pretty dumb-sounding name, but for whatever reason, it has stuck (and it drives my DW nuts, which is probably the bigger reason I keep it around :rotfl2: )!

Have a great day, Dads!

Sign the new guy up for the club. My family and I have been to disney twice this year and plan twice next year so we are definitely into the craze.

By the way, my wife and I keep going back and forth on the DVC thing, how's it working out for you?

From another newer member, welcome. We joined DVC after making 5 consecutive years of trips. We really enjoy it. We have tried 4 resorts thus far, and I think the best part is that since we know we are going every year, we have actually slowed down and enjoyed our trip more. Now, I only drag the family to 2 or 3 parks open to close, and give them a rest in between. My advice on DVC is to find what you want (points, resort, etc.) and then purchase it outright. You do not want to finance it.

Just after midnight and the first day back was just as I imagined it to be lol. Still on call until 7am and do it all again tomorrow and tomorrow night...uuugh!

What does it mean to be boo'd?

We have never stayed there but we have eaten at the Trail's End buffet a coupla times and we really enjoyed it. In fact, we ate there just a few weeks ago. It's good food, plenty of it and the price is pretty good.

Steve: I can only imagine how you feel. It's bad enough just going back to work after a week off! The most I ever get is about 12-16 days at Christmas, depending on how I work it. So far, it looks like it will be 12 days this year.
I'd like to know what being boo'd means, too. I've seen it a couple places but haven't figured it out yet.

The drive home on Friday/Saturday took 23 hours and wasn't quite a fun as the way down, but 2 weeks in Florida were certainly worth it. The kids and dogs all did the drives without a problem. We drove straight through both ways, switching drivers when needed. If we were both tired, we'd take a quick nap at a rest stop.
We had a great time. But after record highs in the 90s while we were down there, this cold, rainy, dreary Wisconsin morning is really depressing.
I've got a ton of photos and video to sort through, but I hope to start a trip report this week or next.
And now that we know we can do the drive, we don't have to budget and spend money on airfare, which means more trips! We're planning a trip in early December 2010, and possibly March of 2010.
I haven't had time to catch up on the forums, but that's on my to do list.

Welcome back!

Love it when the wife starts the planning process, problem is my wife is always planning a trip......not really a problem except for the "checkbook"...Do they still print checks?:lmao:

Congrats on the next trip:cool1:

Never stayed at the cabins, the closest we got was the Hoop Dee Doo revue. That was a lot of fun, I recommend it to any of the Dads out there.

I need in to the club. 33yo with DD2 and DD 3 months. My wife thinks I am a Disney freak... Probably because I am.

I love the cabins! Fort Wilderness is a great place to stay. It has so much to do outside. We always like to rent a golf cart and cruise around the grounds - it is worth the $. We also check out both trading posts because they are great places to hang out and relax.
