Oh yeah - I qualify.

I went to WDW when I was 4 (1980), 12, and then I moved to Tampa in 1995 and lived there for two years (eight trips), moved away and came back in 1998 and compiled only five trips (new dad at this point), and then two more trips since in 2002 and 2004. Preparing for our first on-site visit in a little over a month and, if things go well, we'll make it a yearly trip!

Fwiw, we've had the same blue-camo Mickey antenna ball for the last 8 years with a replacement snowman Mickey antenna ball kept in the door of the car for swapping only when winter rolls around. :)

Yeah... you'll fit right in here! :thumbsup2 You are member # 366

Hey all. Fairly new to the forums. Just saw this thread.

My first trip to WDW was 2001 when I was 25. Went back in 2007. Both times were with my wife's parents. We're looking to go again in June 2010, don't know about the in-laws yet.

DW and I have 3 girls, 10, 7 & 4. Even our dog is a girl. :confused3 :rotfl: When we go to the world I get my fill of princesses! But nothing makes me happier than seeing that thrill on my girl's faces. :thumbsup2

Wow... I bet you're glad football season started back up :rotfl: Glad you found us! You are member # 367

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2

I think we need to check in with FedFuzz to see if there is an appropriate medal of honor that we can bestow upon you.

I was thinking something like the Medal of In-Law Diplomacy or something like that.

Congrats on your freedom!

Thank you! Now I can focus on the real countdown - 39 days!

Beware they walk among us!!!

Saturday in North-East Tennessee it was rainy...cold...perfectly miserable day...Mud was a good six inches deep in the Corn Field...not sure what the thought processes for some people are? But here's what I can best put together.

DH: Honey...I'm bored...it's raining and depressing...what do you want to do with the kids???
DW: I don't know...lets go somewhere.
DH: Movies
DW: nah.
Together: Hey...lets goto the Corn Maze!!! Great Idea!!!
DW: what are you going to wear?
DH: I think I'll break in my new white tennis shoes.
DW: I'm going to wear high heels.
DH: How about the Kids.
DW: Oh they can wear Flip Flops or Crocs.

I really don't get it...I was there cause I had a job...but to actually pay money to go through a slick and muddy corn maze in the cold and rain. :rolleyes1

I honestly felt I should have pushed a wheel barrel full of mud thru the maze and tell people I had report of "no mud" in the northest corner so I had to go fill'r-up. :lmao:

Anyone else have plans to watch TS1 & TS2 3D double feature next week? I'm still working out the logistics......

On Saturday DW and I went to the local Regal cinema and spent 3 hours watching the double feature. IT WAS AWESOME! The 3D effects were simply amazing! :3dglasses I'm not sure I can pop in the DVD and watch them anytime soon... the 3D stuff has me spoiled now :lmao: If it wasn't so expensive (and time-consuming), I'd go see it again before time runs out.....

How do you do with the 3-D glasses? We saw Bolt in 3-D and it gave me a headache.

I think it might have to do with the fact that I already wear glasses. Putting the 3-D glasses on top made me feel like I had to be hyper-focused on one spot in order to see everything clearly.

I hear they have 3-D movies on the cruise ships now, which I'll find out about in less than a month. Wonder what the combo of 3-D and a floating theater will do to me...:sick::sick:

Was it busy when you went? I went an picked up advance tickets on my lunch the day it opened for the evening show and there only ended up being about 15 people in the entire theater:confused:

I really like the direction Disney decided to go with the effects on these ones (and UP), using the 3D to enhance the depth of the picture but not going a whole lot of cheap gimmicks with stuff flying out of the screen at you.

I'm assuming that the reason the release was so limited is so they can have the 3D version on store shelves before Christmas.

No problems with the glasses. I thought after wearing them for 3 hours that I would feel some kind of affect from them, but I was just fine. I was wondering how people with glasses would do with them.

That would be cool to experience on a ship! but not so fun if you are prone to motion sickness

It was not busy at all... but it was only 11:00 AM on Saturday morning. The theater was maybe 25% full. And I have to agree on the effects... no cheap gimmicks... just the right amount of stuff coming out at ya! :rotfl2:

great pics mike!! dd and i are taking the mk tour this morning, we cant wait!!!i forget to mention, we got stuck on the people mover (tta) on thursday over the race track. that was fun walking the track back!!! i see on the weather its going to get colder here, high in the mid 70s this weekend!!! we leave on sat. morning so ill miss it!!!! its going to be 93 today and sunny!!!!! yippeeeee:woohoo:

Dave: I'm sure you and the DD enjoyed the KTTK Tour. We did it several years ago and really learned a lot. We had lunch at Harbour House and the souvenir pin is nice. Now, you need to do the "Around the World on a Segway" Tour! :thumbsup2
I think gas is around $2.39 at our Turkey Hill and in the $2.20's at Giant and the 25th Street Turkey Hill. I guess they'll have to use the phony excuse about switching over to heating oil to raise the price soon.

free at last!!!

Yahoo! My MIL is a wonderful woman but after she comes to stay with us for a few days, I'm ready for her to leave. She thinks she's losing her memory so she's always asking me about names and things. Then, she writes them down so she doesn't have to ask again. Poor woman, her memory is better than mine and she's 90! :confused3

Well...if your reading my Trip report...you'll know that's on my Bucket List...to be "That Guy."

MiJo...GoHerd...that'snice.

Time to start those TR's...see if you can get them done before Don and Myself. :rotfl2:

Well, I don't know if I'll be doing an official TR for this trip. I'm just planning on posting tidbits and photos here as the mood strikes me. By being "That Guy", I got my face flashed up on the big screen 4 or 5 times. I couldn't think of anything to do but smile and wave, even when the caption said I was stinky! :lmao:

Here's a photo of my DS and I rushing to a bench so we could eat our Dole Whips before they melted and evaporated!

That's the funniest thing I've read/heard all day! :rotfl2::thumbsup2

Okay, I hate to ask a newbie question, but is there a list of the acronyms on this site? My wife just joined the site (sick of hearing me talk about it all the time - :lmao: ) and she's trying to read through some of the posts like:

I just found out about the new CS seating policy at the MK...I am concerned about DS...He gets a GAC when we go...Do you think that if we showed the GAC that they would allow us to sit him before we get our food?
I can see her point. It often takes me a few moments to start to understand some of the acronyms here and there are just some that I plain ignore. For instance, I explained to her all but the GAC.

Thoughts?

Guest Assistants Pass or a GAC pass for those individuals with unapparent medical conditions. Basically if you have a medical condition that makes it uncomfortable to wait in long lines, confined spaces, or various other issues that aren't visible. I'm not really sure but I think it kind of works like if you have someone in your party in a wheelchair or scooter.

Sweet! That's exactly what I needed! I searched on "acronyms" and didn't find anything.

Ahh - that makes sense. Thank you!
