Do you board the dogs at WDW? DW is finally starting to cave about getting dogs but one of the last arguments is what will we do with them now that we are going to WDW a couple of times a year.

Another plus to driving is not having to rely on the park transportation. It's a great system but trying to get from Downtown Disney to Pop Century with 3 bags of stuff, a folding stroller, and a sleeping 3 y/o just about killed me.

No, DW's parents live about 40 minutes outside of WDW, so the dogs stay there while we are at WDW. Sorry I can't help you there.
I can't imagine what Disney charges for their kennels. :scared1:

I can't agree more with the park transportation feeling. Except at Magic Kingdom. As fun as the boat and monorail are, they can be so packed that it takes most of the fun out of them. The buses drop off right at the gate!

We're driving again. We can make it in just about 24 hours. With some careful food planning and packing, we can make the trip on about $250 each way - including gas. Compare that with airfare for 4, plus it would cost to board the 2 dogs for the vacation, and we come out pretty far ahead.

We're going for a week (Dec 3 - 11). Sadly, our time for 2 week vacations has come and gone since Madison is starting kindergarten in the fall. We don't mind pulling her out for week, but two is just too much.

We've been there in the first week of December twice already. Low crowds, good weather.

excellent. anther PTR or TR coming?

Barry-

I was reading on the resorts board that POP Warner will be there the week you are in WDW in December. There has been some nightmare stories of the kids & parents getting out of hand. I know you are staying at AKL so it won't affect you there. I don't know how it will affect you in the parks. I was thinking that the first week in December would be the better time to go for our family, but now I'm not too sure. :sad2:

It would be crazy if we were there at the same time 2 times next year! LOL:rotfl:

For sure TRs for both my March and December trip. I'm contemplating a PRT. If I do decide to write one, you guys will be the first to know.:thumbsup2

Wow, I've always wanted my very own stalker! :rotfl2:

We were there Dec 3-10 2008 and the first week of December 2004. I do seem to recall a seeing a few teams & cheerleaders, but nothing that took away from our enjoyment (parks or otherwise).

DIS DADS CLUB Poll---- WHO LIKES PRIMEVAL WHIRL??? I rode it for the first time in March and I hated it. I couldn't believe I wasted my time waiting to get on this ride. Maybe kids like it because they feel like they are on a rolloercoaster or something? :confused3:confused3 So what are your thoughts about it????

There is a special place in my heart for this ride...it was my DD's very first ride at Disney when she was 2 and she absolutely loved it. If not for that, I'm sure I would agree with you that it's not a winner!

It is a little freaky... But I'm not stalking you!! LOLOL I think my March dates were in before yours!!!!

That's good to hear that the parks weren't over run by these kids. It is always the few bad apples that ruin it for everyone else!

I can understand why you like it. For this same reason is why I think I love Disney so much. After seeing my DD2 (at the time) eyes light up and the memories that were made hooked me on WDW.

Last trip we were on the dining plan and most of our reservations were at Epcot. We found that at 5 or 6 they park you just outside the handicap parking on the other side of the monorail station so you are actually closer than the bus drop off.

Animal Kingdom is our home resort for DVC so I figure if we get a big enough dog we'll just paint stripes or attach horns to him and turn him loose on the Savannah for the duration of the visit:rolleyes1

Holy cow, depending on my schedule, we may be down there in December next year too....wow...regular ole DisDad's party:cool1::cool1::lmao:

Sign me up too:thumbsup2, we were already planning on heading down next December. We were going to head down for a 3 or 4 day weekend this year just to check out the decorations and catch the taping of the Christmas parade but it didn't pan out so we said next year for sure. I just need to wait and see if they put DS in a traditional or year round school program next year, but then again it's kindergarten, he'll learn more on the trip anyways.

Anyone going to be down next week? I have to run down there to Bass Pro and to pick something up at Downtown Disney...yes, I'm close enough for a day trip..anyone jealous yet?:lmao::lmao:

Fed,
You are going to Bass Pro and Downtown Disney on the same day? Your my hero! :worship:

this weekend in our house we started watching that time old classic, christams story!!! youll shoot your eye out ralphie!!!:lmao:

So December's the popular travel time for DIS Dads next year, huh? Naturally, we're looking at...September.

OK, the wife has agreed to buy me a smoker for my birthday. Do any of you guys have one? If so what brand do you have or would recommend?

I don't own one but I was watching the new show BBQ Pitmasters and it looks like some of them use a thing called a Big Green Egg, a friend of a friend up here has one and says it works really well.

Here is the website:

Im trying to plan on building something like this in my backyard, maybe not as big and deep but brick and wood burning with a section for smoking as well.
