The DIS Book Club - Round 3 Survey!! SURVEY CLOSED

I'd like to be in the next read. I'm not sure which to vote for. The only one I already have is House Rules...and I've already read it. (Of course, that might make it easier to read it at a slower pace.)

I looked over the list too and none of them appeal to me either. That's ok. You all pick a book and I'll check back for Round 4. :goodvibes I realize I'm in the minority and I prefer action/mystery/thriller/sci-fi/fantasy over "relationship" type books.

Just when I thought that this Book Club could not get any better... A survey!

I am in  and can not wait to read our next selection, whatever it is! :hyper:

You might want to check Wild Ride again. It is a sci-fi/fantasy type of novel.

Ok, yes you are right. That one did interest me the most, and the fact that it had to do with an amusement park. If that one is picked I may try to pick it up at the library.

Hey Nikki

I was just curious usually when they have polls on the dis you can see the percentage of what people are picking. How come we don't have that option with the book survey?

just realized the survey is different than the normal dis polls, so I am assuming that is why

I vote for "Wild Ride". It takes place at an amusement park. Perfect for us Dis'ers

I agree with you on this one, I have only read one of Picoult's books - "My Sister's Keeper" and HATED it. I thought the end was a massive cop-out and I've given up on her.

I completely agree with you. I work in a bookstore and saw a lot of people buying "My Sister's Keeper". I bought the book and once I started reading it, I thought to myself, "Thank goodness I get a discount or I would be ticked off for paying full price". I sold it to our used book store in town. After that, I said never again will I read one of Jodi Picoult's books. But I see people buying them all the time. Oh well, everyone has different tastes, but I don't have to like her books.

Amongst my library patrons, Jodi Picoult is very popular.

I have only read two of her books and liked them both. I like stories dealing with medical ethics.

Are you a librarian? So am I!

Jodi Picoult is popular with our patrons as well. There are always long wait lists for her latest books. I've read several and they can be depressing, emotional roller coasters. I started to read House Rules a couple of weeks ago and was just not in the mood for it. I think you have to be a certain frame of mind to get into reading one of Picoult's books. They aren't fun beach reads.

Nikki has taken too many lessons from Kevin.

Just tell us, already!

I didn't vote because I thought they all sounded interesting and would be willing to read any of them. (in fact I'm storing the titles away for future reading!) But here I am, up early on Mother's Day, waiting to hear what book to start reading. It would be great to spend part of Mother's Day reading.

Yes, the book has been announced! Check the sticky thread on the top of the forum. I'm so, so excited about our choice! :)
