I think I could re-write that poem "Everything I Needed to Know About Life I Learned on the DIS!" I have gained tons of useful and useless knowledge over the past couple of years here!
BUT, when I go to tell someone something I learned here, I usually stop because it's too much trouble to "explain" where I got my information or why I would trust an Internet stranger and take his/her advice. Or they are not technically savvy to understand.
So what do you do? It's so easy to say, "My friend on the Dis boards says we should eat at blank when we go to Chicago." Or "I got this cool blank from an exchange on the Dis boards," etc.!
I don't know....what do you do? Do you explain "The DIS?"

so now I just say a friend told me or that I heard such and such. My family on the other hand just calls it the boards...that is what you get with non internet savy parents(my mother can't even work a mouse). Plus now at work I find myself just saying I'm going to FL vs saying I'm going to WDW. It is too hard to explain sometimes to people especially those who have never been.
"ALL MY FRIENDS"....
