Is The Dig and Discover Atlantis the same thing?

I was looking at the Disney Web site reviewing the shore excursions for Nassau. They offer a Discover Atlantis and Atlantis Beach Day excursion, both of which allow you to visit Discover Atlantis which appears to be an aquarium.

If you look at the Atlantis web site, there is no mention of Discover Atlantis. They do have a section on The Dig which appears to have an aquarium.

Help!!!! I'm confused.

Yes, the Dig is the name of the aquarium area at Atlantis. With the wrist band you get you can also go around the grounds but cannot use the pools, slides or beach (unless you are one the beach tour).

If you just want to do the Dig and look around the grounds it is much easier, and a little cheaper to do it on your own.

I have a question about this as well. I have heard about the infamous long walk if you use the Disney shore excursion (from the water taxi to the Atlantis.) However, if you were to take a taxi straight there, how much walking is there around the "Dig"? I am trying to decide if I need a stroller for my almost 4 yr old DS.
