The December calendar is killing me!!!

I just checked the December calendar for my upcoming trip, and on every single park day I have scheduled, there are Extra Magic Hours. I have three young kids, so we have no interest in arriving early or staying late, so we avoid Extra Magic Hours like the plague-- and now I've got to rearrange our whole schedule because of them! I haven't even been able to think yet of how this will affect all our ADRs, although I know off the top of my head it affects at least two. I really wish Disney could put out the calendar before 90 days so people can take it into consideration when planning their ADRs. I based our itinerary on last year's calendar, and look where that got me! :confused3

Almost forgot-- can anyone tell me whether the parks are pretty busy in the morning and early afternoon on evening Extra Magic Hours days? Specifically AK. Thanks!

I wouldn't fret about it, they sometimes change them. And just beacuse it says that it doesnt mean that its final. I'm not sure what date your going in December, but if its not to close to christmas then its not as busy.
But yeah it would be nice if they put them out 90 days before.

Thanks for trying to make me feel better, jcriket. We're going 12/4-10 as we do every year, and all I can think about is how crowded the parks seemed last year (although I guess that was due in part to the summer hurricanes). I'm feeling a little better now that I'm over my initial freak out, and I'm putting together an alternate plan. We'll see what happens!

Just curious as to why you avoid EMH. We will be there 12/3-12/10. We have 2 kids, ages 6 & 4. We plan on doing the AM EMH, but not the PM ones. Why do you avoid them? Are they crazy that time of year? I would have thought it would be pretty small crowds.

In my experiences, if there is an evening EMH the park does not get crowded until later in the afternoon and the mornings are wide open.

Early AM EMH have never been that crowded.

Since Disney is so fickle on their special event hours, I have adopted the policy of scheduling my parks around my ADR's and then making sure I get to each park at opening to ensure the lowest crowd levels.
