So in a moment of rash impetuousness, I put a HOLD on the same room we had this past July(boardwalk concierge:banana: loved it) But I should have done the dates a day later- meaning I booked a day before I wanted to get there- kids school and dh time off issues.

BUT!!!
The deal we booked was for Easter week. Which is now a BLACKOUT time on the deal. But since I booked the day before it turned into a blackout they will stand by my pricing. BUT NO CHANGES TO DATES or else I lose it.

And all of this was a maybe we'll go. Now I'm thinking DANG we got lucky and we HAVE TO GO!

So I guess this is a mini-freak out and a ? did anyone else get the deal for Easter week- April 10-17

Could you take a late flight out so that the kids and DH could still work and go to school then fly out at night. I know you'd arrive at the resort late but at least you wouldn't lose your deal?

Did they really change it to a blackout?

I also booked Easter week on the phone as soon as the deal was released. Then I read on the WDW website that it was blacked-out. I thought that they just decided not to black it out.

Did they really change it? Then I couldn't make changes to my reservations as well?

:confused3 Now I'm worried about my reservation!

It's blacked out from the 4-19 I think?? .
What dates did you book?
Oh and I was told they blacked it out the day after the deal was announced. I reserved day of.

That's why I posted on another thread that IF there were block out dates either in place or going to be, changing the res dates could void that if anyone tried rebooking for travel within the block out period.
In a case like this, if and when it does happen, then the new res has to follow the guidelines.
My guess is if there were block out dates it was a case of oversight or the right hand not knowing what the left hand was doing.
If the block outs everyone was posting about were enforced I knew we would be reading posts like this.
They will honor those made, whether it be by error or not. But will not allow a new booking during the block out travel frame, if this is the case.

I have the deal booked at the Poly from the 12th-19th. We're actually coming in earlier -- I have a room only reservation at AKL for those days.

It's more expensive because it's the week before & after Easter, plus Passover is from the 8th-something close to the 16th. So many schools have spring break during those 2 weeks.

In 2008, Easter was in March. So March was peak pricing and April was regular prices and less crowded.

I did call CRO twice to check on my reservation (still dont have an email from them). They say it's all fine. When I check on the WDW site, it comes up with the right pricing, too. I just assumed they decided not to black out the dates (just like the decided not to force us to buy the 4-day passes).

I do see that I cant book the Poly now for those dates, but that could be because all the rooms at that price are booked. I also saw on another thread on this board that other people have been able to book during these days as well.

Hope we get more info!:confused3
