We stayed at POR back when it was Dixie Landings. We're looking at it for our August 2006 trip. Anything I should know? Do you think it will be way, way, way too tight with dh, ds14, dd13, ds6, and me?

My mom and dad have given us their timeshare (Marriott Grande Vista) for a week in August. I want to extend the trip, but I'm having trouble convincing dh. POR is the most affordable option for us, and we don't spend that much time in the room.

Beth

We have stayed at POR bayou section for the last two years. I have a DH, DD17 and a DD20. We have plenty of room. I know that isn't 5 people, but remember these are two teenage girls we are talking about. I thought I took too much for them when they were little. They take about 5 times as much as I ever took for them. We don't spend much time in the room but we do go back for a siesta in the afternoon. The trundle bed would have fit my daughter at 13 - she is 5'5" now. I love POR bayou section.

UP Disney,

We got Tinkerbell's autograph during the Family Magic Tour. You get a certificate at the end, and it is signed by Peter Pan, Wendy, and Tink. The tour is AWESOME, and it costs around $25 per person (although you can get a AAA discount).

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. It looks like there are several different ways to get this done.

I think you can also get a Disney Visa discount with this, too.

I am so sorry for your loss

That is a wonderful way to keep him alive in their hearts

Rumor has it that the reason Disney has launched the Fairy line is to make way for tinkerbell in the parks -

and the BIG rumor is that they breakfast at 1900 Park Fare might become a Fairies breakfast - featuring TINKERBELL!!!!!!

it is rumored to start this spring but unfortunately april or may -

so someone could definately get it then - I like the idea of having it on her pillow after returning from the parks

That would be fabulous. We'll be going back with the girls at least one more time next year so she could see her then. We have already bought the Disney Fairies book. We keep an eye on the Disney Fairies website to see if they have the incompleted sections done. My DH and I will continue to go back by ourselves after that.

I am hoping to take a Disney cruise for our 25th anniversary which is June 2007. We can't go for our anniversary because that is my DD17's graduation week-end. However, we will celebrate it sometime in 2007.

Like a mailman...neither rain, or sleet, snow, fog or hail was going to stop me...and that's exactly what I drove through today to see the grandbaby. He's cute as a button...hope everyone had a good day. Off to go drink a glass a wine. My knuckles still hurt from gripping the steering wheel. ::yes::

Can I add some autograph pages? :teeth:
I prepared all the pages before we went and had them in a 6x6 album arranged according to groups (Fab 5, Cinderella and everyone from her movie, etc...). Had lots of plain pages in the back, in several colors. Carried the album and about 15 colors of pens in a gallon ziplock in our park bag. Had them sign directly on page and added photos when we got home.

Some done before we left:

And now one I didn't have ready before we left....had her sign on the plain blue paper, and just coordinated picture page when I got home.

It was quite a trip! We ended up getting 56 different autographs that trip. I'd done 40 of the pages before we left, and luckily had taken enough extras for the others. (I have to admit, I did not make pages beforehand for Queen of Hearts and King Louie....but did when I got home!) As you can see, some are more involved than others, but it was lots of fun to do, and I just used scrapping supplies I already had on hand. Now if only any of my other albums were actually done.... :rolleyes1

TIP: Make sure to put "this book belongs to..." and your name and address somewhere in the book (or any autograph book!). If, heaven forbid, it is lost in the parks, if they find an address in it, Disney will mail it back to you! ::yes::

Too cute!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much Marti. I have tears in my eyes. You are all so generous. I didn't realize how much this had upset me as well. It is something that has helped keep my dad in our lives. He was a very special man and even after 8 years the loss sometimes seems unbearable. He loved kids and spent lots of time with them.

He called my DD20 TwinkleToes and started her ballerina slipper and related collection. Of course, Cinderella's slipper is part of that. She loves all things related to ballerinas (and was never in dance). Every year they get a "Thinking of You" gift from Dad with the most current addition to their collection. My mother has something to do with that, of course.

Actually, he is the reason that we went to Disney. He retired 6 months before he died. He had told me that if we didn't take the kids to Disney by the next summer, he and mom were taking them. It took me 5 years to recover from his loss enough to fulfill his wish and take them. In March, we will have went for a week three years in a row. We keep adding a day.

Sorry for the novel. Thanks again for checking it out for me Marti. If there is ever anything I can do for you, let me know. Vicki

I don't know if this is true or not, but there was another thread on the Restaurant Board (I think) that said that there might be a fairy character meal coming up. Someone asked what fairies, and it was mentioned that perhaps Tink and the new Disney fairies would be making appearances. I don't know if that's true, but you could ask around about it.

I hope that Marti can come up with something. If not Marti, I'm sure someone will. I'm not creative, or I'd come up with an autograph and send it to you. Sorry.

the awesome thing about these it that the characters then know my kids names and it is pretty easy to keep track of whose autographs we still need

it is funny when we see a character multiple times and they have already signed - they always seem a little disappointed they don't get to sign!! We get comments from the CM's, the characters, other guests and Julia looks at her books ALL the time - I use them as her trip scrapbook and it is just perfect!!!!

For our quick 4 day trip in May - instead of making the 6x6 pages - I went ahead and made them 4x6 - then I bought her the Happiest Celebration on Earth Princess album and put the cards in before the pictures of the character - again s he loves this book and looks at it all the time - if you think you are not inclined to scrapbook the pictures when you get home - I think this is a great option!!!!!

to make the 6x6 cards - I buy a pack of 12x12 cardstock at Michaels - i wait until they are sale or use the 40% off coupon and then I cut them into 4 6x6 squares.

I have the characters in a word table so then I make a mail merge document and get my words organized - then i merge them into a new document and go through and make sure they are all on the page - the size of the character sometimes causes the words to fall onto the next page and I make any necessary adjustments and then print -

I take a small clipboard that costs less than $1 at the office supplies stores and a bunch of sharpies (Julia and I like to coordinate the character to the color of their outfit - except princesses have to be pink or purple - for example peter pan signs in green - so we always buy the mega pack!!!) and put them in a ziploc baggie - then at night we do take out the ones we already had signed so we don't keep carrying them throughout the week - i also always print blank ones - there always seems to be a rare character we forgot to put in around or thie time the mickey one got wet and we had to have him sign a blank page

feel free to ask questions -

kate
Kate,

I love the autograph book! I think I'll do that for my sister. This will be her first trip to Disney. I want her to have a good time and have lots of character interaction.

Kate,

I love knowing I'm not the only one who thinks this way!! I never thought much of Brad Pitt to begin with (and what has every one forgoten about Jolie and the blood - ewww weird!!)

and dont get me started about Tom Cruise!! Ever since he first came into the market, I took one look at him, and said "he's got lying eyes!" HIs eyes looked like he was a liar!! So when he divorced Nicole Kidman just before the "ten year rule - ie if they stayed married for ten years she would've gotten loads more money - thanks to a good lawyer, their 9 yr + so many months was close enough!!) I thought he was scum!! (even if he did go around saving people's lives!! lol)

and the whole bit about him and scientology is ewwww factor times ten!!

oops, running late, gotta get the class out of gym!!

lol
I always thought Nicole was beautiful. I didn't get why Tom Cruise left her.?

We keep our kids stockings hanging from their doorknobs. They have easy access and it decorates that hall.

Now that's a great idea Deb! Thanks. This is our first time having a fireplace and mantle. :flower: The doorknob sounds wonderful!!! Surely less painful!!! ::yes:: :flower3:

I just got my people magazine and all I have to say is this:

Brad Pitt is full of crap if he wants me to believe the Angelina Jolie had nothing to do with the breakup of his marriage -

Clearly if he got her pregnant less than 9 months from splitting with Jen - she was a factor - you don't end a marriage to someone and say you still love them and respect them and move on THAT quick if there was nothing going on

ITA!!!!

This is it for me tonight- short and sweet!

Happy Birthday Karen!

Tammi, Welcome to the world of Hi-SPeed- you thought you were addicted to the DDA before, just wait!!

Kristine- the baby is such a cutie!!!

Night all!
